Ok witch one is true the 1611 or the current KJV ?
Bill,

There is absolutely no material difference between the 1611 edition and our current KJB printed Bibles (other than spellings, punctuation, and minor orthograpic items). Let me show you.

1611 AV
1 In the beginning God created the Heauen, and the Earth.
2 And the earth was without forme, and voyd, and darkenesse was vpon the face of the deepe: and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God diuided the light from the darkenesse.
5 And God called the light, Day, and the darknesse he called Night: and the euening and the morning were the first day.
6 ¶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters: and let it diuide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament; and diuided the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters, which were aboue the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament, Heauen: and the euening and the morning were the second day.
9 ¶ And God said, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered together vnto one place, and let the dry land appeare: and it was so.
10 And God called the drie land, Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called hee, Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the Earth bring foorth grasse, the herbe yeelding seed, and the fruit tree, yeelding fruit after his kinde, whose seed is in it selfe, vpon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought foorth grasse, and herbe yeelding seed after his kinde, and the tree yeelding fruit, whose seed was in it selfe, after his kinde: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the euening and the morning were the third day.

CURRENT AV

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which wereunder the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Is one saved by the Bible version they read or by faith in Jesus?

I don't read the KJV.
I have the NKJV, NIV, NLT ESV and other resources.
Seems some consider them to be heritical.

Does that make me a heretic?

What Bible I read does not save me or make me a heretic.

By showing first 13 verses you did not prove that there are no changes anywhere else.

Um. Baloney. Start telling the truth instead of "half-truths" but maybe you just cannot see what you're doing:

I wonder if they are willfully lying or just uneducated about their own KJV they propagate so much.

And I wonder if Nehemiah6 will check our link out and apologize for teaching error or not...

Hello Nehemiah6
First off I love and enjoy the KJV of the scriptures.I enjoy reading it . It is a version I keep with me for study and reading.
My only criticism is it can’t be easily understood by all English speakers. I being a fan of Shakespeare came in handy .so I had no real issues reading it . Well the most common version of the KJV .
They still did change some things between the 1611 and 1769 besides more modern word spellings .
I do have issues with idea that if a person reads a different translation he or she can’t come to the truth ,unless the are using the KJV . Not all KJV only folks do this , still some do . Many point to the KJV as the only perfect word . So my question why change perfection? Unless it was not perfect in the sense they use perfect. Not saying it is bad . Just that there are changes
Here are some changes from the 1611 to the more modern 1769

MINOR ALTERATIONS OF THE TEXT

The following list includes all changes to the text of 1611 which do not involve the correction of obvious errors of the press (examples of which are given in § 5 below), or changes of spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Most of these changes were made with reference to the text of Estienne 1550, and with a view to greater clarity or accuracy. The changes marked with an asterix "*" are all those which are considered improper or unnecessary by F.H.A. Scrivener, an eminent authority on the text of the KJV, in his book, The Authorized Edition of the English Bible (1611), its subsequent Reprints and modern Representatives.

The following list includes all changes to the text of 1611 which do not involve the correction of obvious errors of the press (examples of which are given in § 5 below), or changes of spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
Obviously, just for the New Testament.

BTW, where did you manage to get such a long list?

I'm not very learned regarding this subject at all, and yes, I know we shouldn't go by feelings, but the KJV just feels right to me. It's something I can't explain.

I certainly use other translations as well during research, but that old KJV speaks to my soul in a way the others simply don't.

Just my opinion, and it doesn't count for much. Especially regarding the scholarly discussion going on in this thread. I certainly admire the knowledge displayed here.

You guys rock! :)

None of those differences are MATERIAL differences. So there is no half-truth.
You're disingenuous. There are several MATERIAL differences and either you're plain bearing false witness, OR you cannot see it.

Let me put it like this: Any HONEST person can see there are material differences, which would make you less than HONEST.

Example: Ezekiel 24:7 for instance (just one) Poured it on the ground -or- Poured it NOT on the ground. Huge difference.

This is why I have zero respect for your arguments; they're dishonest and disingenuous, yet you act like you're some biblical expert while not looking at any facts that PROVE you're wrong over and over.

I'm starting to think they are blinded by their indoctrination. It's either that or they cannot admit/tell the truth when proven wrong. I go for the former to give them a benefit of doubt.

Thanks for sharing that brother Laish. Hopefully N6 will repent of his disingenuous responses. He has been proven incorrect.

...
Here are some changes from the 1611 to the more modern 1769 ...
Some of these are significant; many aren't. It is interesting to note how many there are though.

Clearly, the claim that there were no significant changes is spurious, as is the claim that the KJV is perfect, when it has been changed. Unfortunately, some seem to be stuck on the idea... perhaps their faith is actually quite shaky and they need the affirmation of "winning" their point.

i think it would be cool to discuss some of the significant changes. Which do you feel is the most significant? Same question to all. I'm on iPhone so please forgive typos.

How do you determine if a bible is from God or not?
I don't follow a cult.

This remark indicates that you know little or nothing about modern bible perversions and how they originated. Take some time to dig deeper into this matter, since one cannot rely on what has been corrupted. The Lord God certainly had nothing to do with Gnostic corruptions of the Scriptures.
Your attacks are bang out of order. NIV, ESV & NKJV are not Gnostic. You know that yet you are accusing anyway. All your learning has brought you to this error? What then is it worth? You are an indoctrinated fool sir! You are in bondage and you are opposing The Holy Spirit. You have no right to keep up these attacks on valid scripture.

She does not understand that there can be only one Bible that can be considered the pure, holy word of God since they all contain different words and different truths. If one of them is the true word of God, that would make all others false Bibles. There is no other choice. One or none.
Who brainwashed you?

Show me a scripture (there should be 2 or 3 for proper witness) but show me just one that says that The KJV and only the KJV is The Word of The Lord God. Show me where The Holy Bible teaches there can be no translators working past the year 1611.
