If Peter was indeed the first "bishop" of the church of Rome, is it not rather strange that Paul omitted him from the people mentioned in his epistle to the Romans? In any event most of the popes were rascals.
There is no hierarchy in Christ’s Church. No one is more important than another. Only Christ is above us all. There is no latter to climb. God appointed elders to each congregation, but He never appointed a human over many congregations. Only Christ is the head (authority) over His church.
