I like several versions. My favourites are the NIV and The Complete Jewish Bible. I use an OJB and Amplified for reference along with a Hebrew/Greek interlinear edition. The KJV is one I consult only occasionally.

I would love to have the Greek New Testament with the Hebrew Old Testament or the Septuagint if only knew how to read Greek, I mean if we are going to make up a situation might as well go all the way :D

NT - UBS Reader´s edition (with dictionary).

OT - some good, ecclesiastical translation of Septuagint ("scholarly" translations like that one of Oxford are not very convenient for reading).

I grew up with the KJV, so all the old things I had memorized wouldn't be the same. So I use that mostly, but I reference many others. I would want some company on that island; like a puppy. :cool:

I would take my Greek and Hebrew Bibles, and the Septuagint, along with my Greek Lexicon, my Hebrew Lexicon and a few other tools. I've always wanted to read the Septuagint, but I think I need another Lexicon, and a lot of time.

If I wasn't allowed to take all that, I would opt for HCSB or NET.

Really NET (New English Translation) is a great new Bible, with over 60,000 footnotes, including in the original languages, about the choices. Can't imagine not having that on the list.

KJV It isn't perfect but much better than what Westcott and Hort did.
