John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” That in and of itself sums up the entire New Testament, which acknowledges God’s love for us as conveyed by Jesus. It had been made clear that God’s love for us did not go away when the Hebrews finally established themselves in the Promised Land. It has been made clear that God forever loves those who have faith in Him and acknowledge and appreciate His works; He being God, all of His works are good, as Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

As it was prophesied in the Old testament, from Isaiah 9:6 which says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace,” And from Isaiah 65:17 which says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert,” so Jesus, being the physical and spiritual extension of God Himself, came forth to convey a new understanding of God while upholding God’s Law and the prophets.

It is through Jesus that we acquired an understanding that God is not just someone to be obeyed, but He is someone who shows us His Love through Jesus, that we cannot not help but love Him back. Jesus is the one Son whom God has chosen to enlighten the world, that it may abide in God’s House.

Jesus is even acknowledged in the Quran. Chapter 6 The cattle سورة الأنعام - Al-Anaam: Verse 85 says, “…Zakariya and John, and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of the righteous…” Chapter 3 The family of Imran سورة آل عمران - Aal-e-Imran: Verse 45 says, “Behold! the angels said: ‘O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah…’ ” Chapter 4 The Women سورة النساء - An-Nisa: Verse 157 says, “That they said (in boast), ‘We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah’;- but they killed him not…” And Chapter 43 Ornaments of Gold سورة الزخرف - Az-Zukhruf: Verse 63 says, “When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: ‘Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me.’ ” So, when Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” he says so in good standing from far-reaching support.

So, God has enabled Jesus to show us a new way to Him, not new in the sense that His Law is overturned, but in a sense that the Law was meant for us to love Him and eachother, not as something which we merely abide by. Through Jesus, then, God’s Law becomes absorbed and reflected in our hearts.

So, the pathway that Jesus lays out has become the way to God’s Love. Our salvation, which is a function among us who live on earth, gives way when we come to abide in His House, for by then we would have fulfilled God’s desires for us through Jesus.
