Hell guys I’m new to this site been a follower of God since birth BUT i’m new to studying and reading scripture. My girlfriend is also a strong believer in Jesus, we had a huge argument over Zodiac signs and the characteristics of each sign, i told her to stop reading that stuff i just got a gut feeling that its bad dont get me wrong she does NOT worship none of that astrology or zodiac stuff she just simply enjoys it as a hobby reading about the attributes of each zodiac signs even asks people what their sign is? ENTERTAINMENT purposes. Is ZODIAC signs against god and jesus? Is it evil OR is it simply harmless and im over thinking a small thing?? Please help new to the word of christ

The Zodiac constellation has been created by God and can be used simply for astronomy. However, its use was perverted to that of astrology and horoscopes a long time ago, beginning at Babylon and spreading throughout the world. So at the present time Christians should understand that the Zodiac has been hijacked by Satan for his own purposes, and should be totally avoided.

Plus, horoscopes are little more than recycled blather which is so generic that anyone could find some connection if they tried hard enough. There is a non-pagan form of studying patterns in the stars, but it has nothing to do with predicting the future or influencing the personalities of individuals. Rather, it is God's story of redemption of His people told through the names of the stars in certain constellations. Studying this "mazzaroth" is not critical for salvation at all; it affirms scriptural truth rather than adding to or contradicting it. It is evidence of God's creation designed for mankind.
I would suggest that you focus on learning the Bible and getting to know Jesus personally at this stage. Leave the other stuff for when your faith is well-founded in truth. If you don't have a mentor, ask your pastor or an older Christian man in your community.

Good question Andresito and welcome to CC. Horror-scope... We Christians have the Holy Spirit and the Bible to lead and guide us., we don't go to occult sources to tell us about who we are or about our future. Our past--present and future are all wrapped up in Jesus.
The horror-scope has nothing to do with Jesus and everything to do with the occult. But the daily newspaper horror-scopes are well accepted in our society as harmless fun. While others follow it religiously. But the Bible tells us who know Jesus to have nothing to do with it.

Zodiac readings can indeed become evil and it's best to totally avoid doing this. I would not pressure your girl friend to stop reading the horoscope for entertainment as you have already mentioned it and it caused an argument. There are worse things that your girlfriend could be doing, as long as she is just doing this for casual entertainment it probably is not harmful but really, no good will come out of it and possible great harm. She knows how you feel so I would give it a rest for the time being.
Studying and reading scripture can go a long way to shaping and directing your spiritual well-being. Perhaps your girl friend would be willing to share this activity with you along with prayer.

Astrology is a portal to evil, as one woman in a class at seminary noted. Certainly, that is what happened to me. I was reading the Bible, as a young teen, and a friend got me into reading horoscopes, and playing with Ouija board.
The next thing you know, the Bible had been put away, literally for years. It was another 14 years before I got saved! Because, although I went to church when I was young, I was not "born"a Christian. This is a myth coming out of pedobaptism, in which person is saved by a sprinkling of water, as opposed to belief and faith in Jesus Christ.
Before I got saved, and she said she could read my future with horoscopes. She figured out my personal chart, something quite different than those generic blurbs in the daily news. My chart had seven signs in my 7th house. The woman could not find a single life event that had already happened on it. Forget about the future.She tripled checked, the chart was right, but it didn't work. She admitted no one's charts worked, and believed it was because the planets had moved relative to the earth, since astrology had been invented by the Babylonians, or some eastern religion.
So, astrology has the potential to pull us away from Christ, and towards evil. And, quite simply, it is just wrong! Why would anyone waste time fooling around with the devil's tools, when they don't even work?
Time to focus on reading the Bible, find a Bible believing church (not one where you are a Christian from birth, which is not Biblical) and get to know God better. The sooner you and/or your gf abandon this, the sooner you will be able to truly walk with God. He is not going to walk with someone divining the future, for sure!

Horoscope is evil. Keep on telling me I will be married each year but until now I am still single.
Some predictions come true and some don't so its just coincidence. Only God knows and holds the future. He is already there in the future so no need to be anxious about and look for answers in horoscope.

Might I add that hilariously Zodiac symbols/signs aren't "all" used in today's time the so called predictions are technically "inaccurate" because there are actually 13 Zodiac Symbols/Signs and no brainer why it isn't used the unused sign/symbol/creature is Serpentarrius the serpent hmmm why might that be?
I'm no expert but either way God should be consulted concerning "the future" not symbols/signs for remember well who made "all" and therefore is more efficient in charting or possibly telling you in some wise"your future" that he has in mind.
