There is no "after salvation"?
Please explain this statement. Make it as simple as you can so I can understand it.

Most born-again Christians do not know how to live for God. They are a defeated Christian living in the "Law of the Sin and Death (Rom. 8:2)." They believe in laboring for reward and do not understand Faith and Grace. My question is, how does a Child of God live for God after salvation?
Sanctification

Man can come before God only on one premise, and that is by and through the shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus said, “No man cometh to the Father but by Me,” He was speaking of what He would do at the Cross of Calvary, which would make all of this possible (John 14:6).

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law (that by which He functions) of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) of Life (Victory) in Christ Jesus (this Law pertains to what Christ did at the Cross and in His Resurrection)" (
Romans 8:2), is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

This means that the Believer must place and maintain their Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross, i.e., The Finished Work at Calvary's Cross where the victory was won, i.e., The Blood of Jesus.

When the Holy Spirit sees that the Believers heart is exhibiting Faith in Jesus and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won, He does what He was sent to do for the Believer (help). The Holy Spirit works entirely within the parameters of Jesus Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won (Jn. 3:16; Rom. 8:1-2, 11: 1 Cor. 1:18; 2:2).

The Believer is either operating under the Law (The Law of Sin and Death - The curse) or Grace (The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus - The Blessings of the Resurrection Life).

our hearts are broken' when Jesus calls us out of this fallen world and into His deliverance from it',,.

we see our 'old selves' and actually experience the emotions that go along with what we have done
and what has been done to us - there can be no question of what we will do for Him, after conversion,
for His expectations from us are our priority for the rest of our living lives while He allows us
to live upon this earth...

Does the Holy Spirit work automatically in a Christians life after I am born-again?

No! If the work of the Holy Spirit was automatic, no Christian would ever fail. Faith in Christ and the Cross unlocks the door for Grace, the work of the Holy Spirit power and help.

anyone else get the feeling this is just a platform to preach and not really a dialogue?

if the Holy Spirit doesn't "automatically" work, do you have the "activation" button?

Yes! Faith in who Jesus is and what Jesus has done at Calvary's Cross where the victory was won activates the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Our Wesleyan Heritage – The United Methodist Church

"
Sanctifying Grace

Salvation is not a static, one-time event in our lives. It is the ongoing experience of God’s gracious presence transforming us into whom God intends us to be. John Wesley described this dimension of God’s grace as sanctification, or holiness.[SUP]1
[/SUP]

Through God’s sanctifying grace, we grow and mature in our ability to live as Jesus lived. As we pray, study the Scriptures, fast, worship, and share in fellowship with other Christians, we deepen our knowledge of and love for God. As we respond with compassion to human need and work for justice in our communities, we strengthen our capacity to love neighbor. Our inner thoughts and motives, as well as our outer actions and behavior, are aligned with God’s will and testify to our union with God. [SUP]1
[/SUP]

We’re to press on, with God’s help, in the path of sanctification toward perfection. By perfection, Wesley did not mean that we would not make mistakes or have weaknesses. Rather, he understood it to be a continual process of being made perfect in our love of God and each other and of removing our desire to sin.[SUP]3?[/SUP]
But you said that SALVATION Is not a one time thing.:)Did you mean conditional sanctification?

Amen! Most Christians do not understand that the Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18).

No.

it means that SALVATION is a LIFE LONG process of which we walk closer with God.

God doesn't just adopt us and then drop us back onto the streets to fend for ourselves. He walks along side us. He teaches us. He listens to our prayers and comforts us.

Salvation is NOT just a one time thing. Its a life-long walk with God.

Faith is JUST the BEGINNING of the Journey, AGAPE Love is the end result of maturity and being deeply rooted in Christ.

2 Peter 1
5For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,[SUP]e[/SUP] and virtue with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8For if these qualities[SUP]f[/SUP] are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes! Faith in who Jesus is and what Jesus has done at Calvary's Cross where the victory was won activates the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
what about His resurrection? His ascension into Heaven? His establishment of the NEW covenant by placing His shed blood on the Altar in Heaven? His establishment of the Church, His body? His gift of the Holy Spirit?

Do you talk about and teach what JESUS did after the Cross as well as what He did upon it?

don't get me wrong. I love hearing about the Cross. I just wanted to make sure we talk about all the rest also. Especially if the topic is Sanctification.

Wrong - the baptism of the Holy Spirit sanctifies a believer
We are made holy by the Holy Spirit - not just belief or faith.
For people believe and have faith in much that is not true.

Is redemption centered up in the Cross of Christ or the Resurrection of Christ?

Answer:

Redemption is centered up totally in the Cross of Christ. While everything else after the Cross, the Resurrection, Ascension, and Exaltation of Christ, played a tremendous part, and continues to play a tremendous part, the truth is, all of this is made possible, the Resurrection, Ascension and Exaltation of Christ, because of the Cross.

Victory = The Cross of Christ, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, i.e., The Finished Work
