I'm really embarrassed to even post this... But here it goes. I have stated in my other post how I'm always worried about God taking salvation. The thing is I have become so obsessed thinking that he will, or that I'm not saved,or why would he save someone like myself. It's frustrating because I love God I do, without him I would be nothing. I understand what Jesus did, how He was the final atonement for sin, and we could never work our way to heaven, or do enough. I find myself even waking up in the middle of the night worried about this situation.

Even growing up I was so obsessed with wanting love, especially being given up for adoption, and I found that in Jesus no greater love! I'm not deserving of it at all, it seems so many others are.

I wantconfidence and not worried day and not, about why God would save someone like myself, or if I'm He's mad at me or does he still love me. I messed up a lot in my 26 years, turned my back on God and didn't even care. I have prayed and asked God for help with this, I was even told maybe I have OCD.

sorry to keep going on, I'm not great at all with my grammar and punctuation.

I Just need Advice if you all have been through it, or no someone that has?

Your fine thanks for replying and trying to understanding, sorry didn’t meant to confuse. I’m not the best with typing out, and getting out how I’m feeling. God Bless you.

You said you are saved so I want you to memorize the following verse. 1 John 5:11,13, "And this is the record, that God has give to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son, vs12, He that has the Son hast life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life. vs13, (Now pay attention)--These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and tha tyou may believe on the name of the Son of God."

When I became a Christian about 55 years ago, these were the verses given to me to memorize because God "DOES NOT" want His children doubting His word. So when thoughts of doubt come, say to yourself, "I know I'm saved becasue I trust God and move on." Don't let the enemy take your peace from you and memorize those verses. In fact, it would be a good idea to start a Scripture memory program.

Thank you very much! I appreciate that advice. I say I’m saved because of what scripture say if you confess with your mouth and be in your heart. Others I have talked to say maybe you didn’t do it correctly, and then I’m all confused.

Don't let your mind deceive you, our flesh is very powerful.

You must remember that Jesus Christ, has saved you.
You must remember that God loves you.
You must remember that the Holy spirit is with you.
You must remember that God hears you when you talk to Him.
You must remember that Jesus Christ hears you when you talk to Him.
You must remember that they love you, and they care about everything going on in your life, and about everyone else in your life.

We all must hang on to remembering these things!

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May you grow in remember these great things, that have been presented here for you today!

God bless you, your friends, your family, and all of these brothers and sisters here.

First of all, don't be concerned what others tell you. When it comes to God there is no "die in the wool" right or wrong way. You listen to what God says to your heart. Secondly, I was trying to post the following but my time ran out. I highly suggect you start memorizing Scripture. There is an organization out there called the "Navigators." They have a ministry that caters to military and college campuses. I was involved with them years and years ago when I was in the Military.

They have an excellen memory system and it is organized. You can access it here: https://www.navigators.org/resource/topical-memory-system/ At one time I had three or four books of the Bible completely memorized. 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus. Right now I can't even remember my name, lol. Hope this helps.

I think you’re in good company — a lot of us struggle with wondering if we’re “good enough”. The good news is WE ARE! God created each and every one of us and loves us as if we were His only child. And even if we were the only person on earth, Jesus still would have died in our place. I struggle with feeling inadequate in my own eyes, but that’s just it — God doesn’t see us through our eyes! We’re His beloved children. If only we could see ourselves the way He sees us!

Read the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), and believe that God is represented by that father, and you are represented by the prodigal.

11
And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them hisliving.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and putit on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

I found that in Jesus no greater love! I'm not deserving of it at all, it seems so many others are.
Your right, your not deserving, and neither is anyone else. But he counted each of us worthy "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6). So don't be so hard on yourself, we aren't suppose to judge or condemn others, and that includes ourselves. Salvation isn't revoked if we continue making mistakes (sinning), so have faith that eternity isn't based on what you do, but on what he's done. We are all guilty of sin, but never let the guilt sway your confidence in Christ.. jmo

I messed up a lot in my 26 years, turned my back on God and didn't even care. I have prayed and asked God for help with this, I was even told maybe I have OCD.

The good news is you really aren't worthy of God's love or his salvation. You're not insane for thinking you aren't. You'd be insane if you thought you were.

(And on the tiny thing of not being good with grammar, you'll be happy to know neither am I, so I've got no idea if either one of us are doing grammar right. lol)

I married up. As in I married a man infinitely better looking than I am, infinitely kinder, gentler, smarter, richer, (ha! I just realized, even though we're both on Social Security now, he's still bringing in more money than I do lol), more loving, more Christian, and more any good thing compared to me. To this day, I don't have a clue why he married me. After a long while, I've grown to accept he's sticking by me, even if I have no clue why. So, why waste my time trying to figure out why, when I can just enjoy the time we have together? (He's also older than me by 9 years, so I've been expecting him to die on me for 30 years now, and he hasn't yet.)

To me that's much like my relationship with the Lord, with two major differences.
1. God told us why he chose us. He chose the foolish of the world to confound the wise. Yupper, I truly fit into "the foolish" camp.
2. God isn't going to die on me. (He's God so he doesn't die.)

So why did he choose me? Other than I'm foolish, I have no idea, but he does. And he chose to love me, And he promised he'd keep us.

So, if nothing else, I'm going to enjoy my time with him as long as I can. Why not? He's truly enjoyable to be around.

And, unlike hubby, there is no expiration date on this time with him. Not because of my mighty skills. Because he promised and doesn't break his promises.

Sure, I'm not worthy of the Lord. But he chose me anyway, so I'm going to enjoy him forever. He promised.

What does being saved mean? If you were tossed out of a vessel in the middle of the ocean do you have to do something right to be saved? Or does the one saving you have to do it right? Being saved is outside of our control. It's within the control of the one who saved.

So anyone who tries to tell you that you didn't do it right? Ask that person how they saved themselves right.

Seems like a moronic thing to tell someone.

We are saved. We are not the Savior. We are the Savee.

Telling someone "you must," "you must," "you must," "you must," when the complaint in the first place is "I can't," "I can't," "I can't," "I can't," doesn't seem like good advice.

God saves. We don't do any mustes to be worthy of being saved.

Thank you you for the encouraging words,, and giving me an example when it comes to your own life I appreciate that.

Thank you very much! I appreciate that advice. I say I’m saved because of what scripture say if you confess with your mouth and be in your heart. Others I have talked to say maybe you didn’t do it correctly, and then I’m all confused.
You have done the following and believe the following.

Romans 10:8-13
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Can this be done incorrectly?

Yes and no.

YES.

When done with no intent of wanting to change.

NO

When done with genuine repentance.

Given what I have read on your OP then you have done it correctly.
Reject what you have been told.

We all go through what you are going through and still do.

What about me?

For 15 years I woke up every night/morning at the same time 4.A:M.
Asking God to kill me and then I knew where I was going? Heaven or Hell (I was married with 4 kids, but I knew he would take care of them)

I say you are being lied to, and it's not God lying to you.

Satan I a sense has a plan for you.

John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy - first part of the verse

But God has a plan for you

John 10:10
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly, that's the second part of the verse.

God says

Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

I totally agree with Bluto and MattG.

We need to know what God says about us.
We can know that from his word.
That's why we need to know it.

I add the following.
It's not a short one.

Ephesians 6:10-18
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Maybe MattG and Bluto if they agree could highlight some of the above to memorise, as I know it's a lot to memorise.

What I would like to add though is get and sing worship songs.
Praise God despite your feelings.
It really does sooth the soul.

When you go to sleep at night rebuke the lies Satan tells you.
Thank God for his promises.
Pray to God that you will sleep well. We do not function well if we don't.
Fall asleep with worship songs playing.

Psalms 63:6-7
6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

It is vain for you to rise up early,
To [a]retire late,
To eat the bread of [b]painful labors;

You are in good hands.
The hands of Jesus.

John 10:28-30
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”

Sorry for the long post.
