It was to the disciples. That's who Jesus was addressing. .. but it has further application to other churches throughout all ages.

Applying it to Christians not in churches would not fit with the commission to baptise which is a church ordinance

Do you have any scriptural support for the two statements underlined?

This is correct. One could say that the Great Commission was given to the Church -- the Body of Christ (redeemed Jews and Gentiles). The primary responsibility of churches is to (a) preach the Gospel, (b) make converts, (c) baptize them scripturally, and (d) disciple them with all Bible truth.

Is it your position that all churches are commissioned/authorized by Christ to baptize and according to your letters (a,d) that they all teach bible truth-gospel?

Ahhh, here comes the real motivation behind the question...
Fishing, anyone?

I've seen multiple positions on this subject since I joined. Is there some problem with me soliciting those positions? If you have some scriptural answer for the questions I welcome your participation. If not, well maybe you can find a thread on here you can contribute something to.

Unfortunately, Christendom has generally gone into apostasy, and even the evangelical and fundamentalist churches are not consistently preaching the true Gospel and Bible truth. But as far as Christ's command to baptize believers, that is still valid for each and every church which claims to be Christian.

As you probably know the RCC, the EOC, and most of the mainline Protestant denominations are NOT practicing believer's baptism, but have adopted infant baptism from the traditionalist churches (and which is meaningless). Had every church stayed true to what Christ commanded here, there would probably be 10 times as many genuine Christians as there are today.

Thank you for your honest reply.

There are a few points here I'd like to have you expound on, but maybe I'll ask them later. I don't want to feed the trolls.

The answer is in verse 20.
"teaching them to observe all that I commanded you." What had Jesus just commanded them to do - go, make disciples, and baptize them.

Isn't it a simple thing to actually detail the motivation behind a question?
The manner in which it is posed follows a pattern, often observed on this forum, that is common to those with "troll-like" tendencies.
My purpose was to clarify what your motivation was - and it still is...

I'm not familiar with the moderating here, but I am going to report this post as it is the 5th post you have made without addressing the topic in your own words...you only want to make me the topic.

I don't like trolls, so I will see if they approve of this behavior here.

And that would pertain to whom exactly?

-Any religious organization in Christendom or who claim to be Christian

-Only certain religions [If so, please provide a name(s)]

To anyone who is part of that same pattern. Time is irrelevant. Why don't you just cut to the chase and say what is on your mind instead of all this nonsense.
