The Greek word harpageesomatha, translated caught up was translated to Latin as rapiemur by Jerome. Rapiemur came into English as Rapture (meaning catch up or snatch away), in about the third century. The word rapture is an accurate translation of the Greek harpageesomatha.

Is Shepherd's Chapel a Christian Identity/white supremacist group? If so, that should set off some alarm bells........

Depends on what they mean by rapture - if they are meaning the dispensational view of it then they would be correct - but then they are a strange bunch:

Part of the doctrine follows the Anglo-Israelism theological doctrine of faith, as well as a version of the "serpent seed" doctrine that identifies a "Kenite" lineage of people descended from Cain who slew Abel.[SUP][4]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shepherd's_Chapel

[/SUP]
The Kenites were a branch of the Midianites who settled in Cush. The Midianites were descended from Abraham by Keturah. Jethro, Moses' father in law, was a Kenite. The Rechabites, who stood with Jeremiah against apostate Judah were also Kenites. The descendants of Cain were not on the ark with Noah and didn't survive the flood. I am not dispensationalist. My understanding of the Rapture is described in post #4 above.

Greetings tcross11,

Arnold Murray also teaches, among other erroneous things, that "when you sin, just forget about. For if you confess your sins and ask your heavenly Father for forgiveness, He will punish you for it." I watched him say this myself on one of his programs. Yet we have scripture which tells us "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is why it is important for all believers to study the word of God for themselves, so that you can know whether or not someone is telling the truth regarding God's word.

This lot are a bunch of screwballs!
British and American Israelists...and it just gets worse from there!

I have interacted with people of a similar ilk in Australia - I will politely call them white supremacists and leave you to connect the dots...

With all honesty I suggest you find a good church & turn that show off.
Much of TV ministries can't be trusted. Arnold Murray sure can't be trusted.
The church is surrounded by false prophets and teachers nowadays.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Is this something factual or are you just trying to start something? If factual, please present your facts.

If i were you I would not base your belief on what a person teaches you alone but rather seek the truth for yourself. There are many different views and beliefs on the rapture and each one will swear they are correct and many scriptures and proofs have been shown to prove each theory and belief but in the end what you and God decide must be because you and him sought the truth for yourself.

Me personally I have seen scriptures and proofs for all kinds of views and beliefs of how it will happen or won't happen but I didn't base my belief on what others told me or taught me rather I sought the truth out for myself by reading and studying the word, cross referencing the bible and connecting the dots in various events happening in the world and even in history going back all the way to even the ancient Egyptians. The thing is the rapture is not a topic that can be understood by itself it is tied to bible prophecy events of all kinds and is intertwined in the pattern of prophecy itself. If you want to understand the rapture then you will have to study all of bible prophecy not just a piece of it.

I love it when Christians make such statements. So why don't you go to John 14:1-3 and tell us -- in your own words -- what you understand by this passage.

They also teach the serpent seed doctrine. The Kenites are the offspring that came from intercourse betwixt Eve and the serpent. Another
