For those who are having issues understanding God's will ( and believe me we all have been there) I wanted to use an analogy to help to better understand God's will and why he does things the way he does. Many of use in our minds have the belief that we know what is better than God even as arrogant as that sounds we all are guilty of doing this sometimes. We want to act now, we want to do things this way or that way we think we have waited long enough and act on our own and a lot of times we mess things up.

You see we can liken God and us as the commander in battle and the soldier. The soldier does not act upon his own rather he waits for the commanders orders. This is because even if the soldier thinks he understands the plan or thinks he knows a better way the commander is the one who fully understands the plan and can asset the situation much better than the average soldier. In war or on the battle field one of the main things a soldier faces is the waiting. sometimes they are on the field for days even weeks just waiting, thinking they should act. Wondering what is taking the commander so long to make an order to attack or how to act but if they trust the commander and just patiently wait they can win the battle however if they act on their own thinking they understand the situation they could cost the entire platoon not just the battle but many men as well.

In the same way we must learn to have patience and to persevere, even if it seems as if God is just sitting there not doing anything he is in the works. He is able to see and understand the situation far better than we could ever hope and so acting upon what we think is right or becoming impatient and acting without his say so first will never turn out good. If there is one thing I have always had to do with him it's the waiting. So much waiting for all kinds of things far more things than I would like but in this waiting I have gained patience and learned to trust him in times of the unseen and you know patience is not exactly my strong suite so I suppose that makes sense huh?

If your going through a tough time that seems as if it has no end or if your waiting for an answer to a prayer remember the commander and the soldier, when the time comes he will let you know when and how to act until then see it as a learning of patience and trust.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.

Amen
A lot of people want a 3min McDonalds drive thru.
Not the 45min steak at Texas Roadhouse.
What I mean is we don't wait to see what GOD is going to do. We just take what ever is fastest and feels good to us at the time. We don't think what feels good to God.

Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
[13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I was reading a study a while ago about Eph 6, it was explaning that standing
is not passively, it’s an active action.

It takes effort to just stand on the spot. It was also compared to how a soldier
might mark time my marching on the spot, again an active action. They are
ready for action and that action is standing.

There is nothing wrong with standing still and waiting on the Lord. Many
times it’s the only thing we have left to do, it’s often when we are in that
place that God is then able to work as when we keep running ahead, we just
keep getting in the way. :)

Just wanted to say as well that the difficult times aren’t necessarily short.
Ive been going through a difficult time for over 5 years but I’ve learnt and
grown along the way.

I came across these verses this week and they certainly put everything
into perspective.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 NKJV
[17] Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though
the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock
may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls- [18] Yet
I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

It was in response to God saying this! Life isn’t all sweetness and light for the
Christian!

Habakkuk 1:5-8 NKJV
[5] "Look among the nations and watch- Be utterly astounded! For I will
work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told
you. [6] For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation
Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places
that are not theirs. [7] They are terrible and dreadful; Their judgment and
their dignity proceed from themselves. [8] Their horses also are swifter than
leopards, And more fierce than evening wolves. Their chargers charge ahead;
Their cavalry comes from afar; They fly as the eagle that hastens to eat.

I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.

Rescue comes temporarily at various times in this life, it doesn’t come permenantly until
the next.

Im going to a funeral tomorrow for a beautiful friend who has faithfully served the Lord for
30 years working as the secretary for a Christian evangelical charity, dedicated to spreading
the gospel.

For the last 5 years she has battled overian cancer, almost always fatal as by the time
you notice symptoms, it’s already spread. She’s had surgery and three lots of chemo but
it always grows back. She knew that fully right from the start.
Now it’s taken her life, but her real life is just starting.

This earthly life is one of decay death we continually die in this life. Real life is in
the next life.

Thank you for your kind encouragement Blain. I'm not the most patient person either.
