It seems to me that when we are humble, we can learn a great deal, but when we think we know it all, we can learn nothing. Does that make sense?

Nothing hinders the Holy Spirit being able to teach us more than knowledge. Actually, if we truly understood that One we are asking us to teach us, and who and what He is, we would see that we really don't know anything at all.

Good thoughts,
blessings in Him,

To whom much is given, much is required. If you would be teachers, according to James, you must be willing to be strictly judged. Without humility, knowledge brings downfall.

YES YES YES! You nailed it! Good for you!
When I stopped believing what I had been taught my whole life and started looking at what the Bible REALLY said, my eyes were opened. Nothing in the Bible is simple, but simple minds simplify it so they can believe simply, but there's sooo much there that God would like to reveal if we are willing to accept the challenge and go WHEREVER he takes us.

Even the basics--ESPECIALLY the basics we've been taught our whole lives. Example: "when people die they go to heaven or hell." Actually, there's a WHOLE lot more to it than that! But that's what I believed because that is what I had been taught. Then I started asking questions: What is the kingdom of heaven? Who gets judged on judgment day if everyone is already in their designated place? Who are the dead that come up from the sea? Where was Samuel when Saul called him up from the dead? Etc etc. It's not so simple anymore, is it?

Anyway, good post. You are a person after my own heart.

Be blessed.

We will never know it all. I'm not where I used to be. I'm not where I could be but I'm on my way with the help of the Lord. I thank God I do my best to sumit to Him so he can help me on my journey. I don't ever want to walk alone.
