To be honest, I've never doubted my beliefs more than since I came here.
Actually I have had just the "opposite here" because well a few times someone will challenge my beliefs and be "ridiculous" thereby making "no contest" you know like say when "Trolls" show up who are only interested in their own view and not in "learning" anything "new".

this is true if a person never gets the courage to open the box, they will end up staring at those fours walls in the box a life time.

that's the beauty in learning of God he doesn't force anyone to open the box.
Yep if you can't "face" new views, then you can't expect to "stand against them" let alone "discern" their "accuracy".

Some of my beliefs have changed when I've investigated a matter deeply. I struggled initially with the idea that Jesus is God. Once I did my own study on the subject, I became convinced of it. Conversely, initially I was taught that tithing is required; after researching it myself, I came to the opposite view.
Yeah any belief can be taken "to an extreme" and it can be "spiritually bad" I myself believe tithes are important but not necessarily in "money form" I believe that "service to God/Jesus" is just as acceptable as a tithe not just "money tithes".

Amen, what a testimony of the power of the word. We are called to study the scriptures diligently. May you continue in the word.
Yes searching out scripture is very important because while the holy spirit can "bring answers to mind" or even "have you speak them" it's good to have them "on your mind" day to day for "resistance purposes" against satan's snares,as well as in general a "spirit refresher" and "wisdom refresher".

Yes, once I'll be-leaving,
now I'll be-staying. :p
Yeah something "everyone faces" the choice to "go out in the world teaching and preaching" or remaining "where one is, learning and preparing to preach or teach to others, like even "getting on this site" is sort of like "being on one's own" because you won't necessarily have "church member backing" or "supporters" of what you believe here, just like "a new school" your "first day" in a new school just like a new church or site is typically "unknown to you" how people will "view you or your beliefs" this site makes me feel like "I'm right there" with others even though I'm actually "miles away".

That's not good, unless your previous beliefs were a bit shaky. In any event you have access to Scripture, just like anyone else. So a careful and prayerful study of the Word of God -- while disregarding outside influences -- can settle your mind and your beliefs.

It's not my belief in Christ. That is solid. It's the peripheral stuff you guys have raised question marks on. ;)

this site is certainly a 'challenge' to what so many of us have been led to believe and live -
albeit, open your precious hearts, because you ARE here, and learn why you have been led here...,
whether 'good or bad', it is a very enlightening learning experience for Jesus and His ways!!!

not to mention what 'the wily one is constantly trying to bring us into division!!!

This is a great question... Yes, they have. The death penalty for instance. I was against it for many years because I use to think what if that person was going to get saved and missed their chance. Then one day about 20 years or so ago G-d revealed to me if a person was not going to get saved facing death, they were not going to get saved. And I changed my mind and am for the death penalty.

Yeah God has his reasons for things happening.

Looks like "in some ways yes in some ways no" might be the "majority" in the poll.

I see you have 3 people who are completely closed minded. I would have thought you would have no one say yes there

Well that's how life is though there is always someone who will be in opposition to what you believe so I'm not surprised and I don't disrespect this either it's just the way things are.

I used to believe in a pre-trib rapture, I have moved to pre-wrath, which may well include pre-trib but is not restricted to it.

In the course of working on my commentary, my understanding of many verses and passages has changed.

such a very mature and honest, admission of your Love and desire
to grow in Christ and His knowledge; we so appreciate this statement -
as this is also our daily quest for the rest of our lives...

Two I can think of...

I used to believe that all who go through the Great tribulation (who have missed the rapture) have lost any chance to be saved. Basically, left behind and doomed to hell. This was after watching an end times movie, and before I read a bible. It stayed in my head and I assumed it was true until I actually got to studying the end times for myself. I was surprised to learn there are some out there who believe this, even after reading the scriptures.

I used to believe the "falling away" in 2 Thess 2:3 was speaking of the rapture of the church :)
