I want to give you a quick revelation and commentary that will bless you. We all may know the story of barabas the insurrectionist who Jesus replaced on the cross as Pilate offered the customary release of a prisoner. Now I want you to go to your Bible and find Barnabas and Mark out the N. Barabas! The original n.t. Greek uses the same name to the exact letters! Changing the name was a KJV mistake. In fact the original says the beloved Paul and Barabas. Barabas became Barnabas the close co-worker of Paul the apostle.

Because, after all, there was only one guy named Barnabas in all of Judea....

Can you say, "unsubstantiated speculation", boys and girls?

perhaps Simon the leper, at whose house Mary anointed Christ, moved from Bethany ((Matt. 26:6)) soon afterwards to Samaria and became a sorcerer ((Acts 8:9))

I'll stick with Barnabas. Obviously you're not a big fan of the KJV. Personally, I prefer the NKJV, same style but in a more modern format. You're going to fit right in the Bible Discussion Forum. The pros and cons of the KJV has been debated and discussed ad nauseam.
