We need a new sense of calling in our lives and then in our churches to go forth and be God's ambassadors in a culture full of decay and corruption!

Christianityand the Lord's churches are an abomination today as a whole. Much like Israel at the time of Jesus.
It is not the world's fault, not the schools fault, not the government's fault. It is OUR fault.
We have all failed to some degree in our worship and service. Some more than others.
We have compromised with the world, false teachers, family, friends and fellow church members because we do not want to offend or be labeled a religious fanatic for standing for the truth and never backing down, regardless of the results.

There is just too much of an ecumenical attitude today. An attitude of promoting what we agree on while ignoring what we do not. (Lets just work together) Some say major and minor doctrines.
Well, there are no major or minor doctrines. It is either right or wrong. It is according to Scripture or it is heresy.

It is not going to get any better. What we see is exactly what the Scriptures tells is to come before Jesus returns.
That is not to say we should give up. Just the opposite.

How many churches do that any more.
How many on this forum have time to do that.
It amazes me how little value Christians put on assembling with others on a regular basis.

Biggest issue is men in the pulpits who do not believe and are not sold out to God and His word. They do not believe that Gods word is the power of God unto salvation. They do not trust God to bring together souls that need teaching about Christ according to the bible. Perhaps in Europe and North America. However, there are thousands (millions?) of churches in Latin America, Africa, and Asia that don't fit your profile.

Further, the simple fact that many pastors are white does not necessarily have anything to do with racism. It has to do with the fact that much of the population of Europe and North American is white. Simple demographics.

Racism is the belief that people of different ethnicity are inferior simply because of their ethnicity. A subset of a population that is not perfectly representative is neither proof nor even evidence of racism.

But we digress. Christians should understand that there is Black Racism as much (or perhaps more) than White Racism. Then there is Yellow Racism, Brown Racism, and Red Racism. Not sure about Rainbow Racism as yet, since the LGBT crowd is a relatively recent phenomenon. Almost every ethnic group believes it is superior to a different ethnic group, and even among the Native Indian tribes some tribes believed they were superior to others and sneered at them.

Back to issues in the churches. The primary issue is a departure from the authority of the Word of God and the flooding of churches with man-made doctrines and practices. This apostasy was already foretold by Paul, and it will precede the coming of the Antichrist. So contrary to what a lot of false prophets are claiming, there will be no such thing as an end-time *revival*.

The central message of Jesus' teachings was and is that ONLY GOD'S GRACE can bring a person into right relationship with GOD. Jesus' contention with the Pharisees was always over legalism.

I believe that the Church's greatest influence over American thought and lifestyle was in 1899 after D. L. Moody, R. A. Tory, H.A. Ironside, and Jack McBurney had joined forces.

Whenever the message 'We are not under law, but under grace' is conflated with the political ambition 'There oughta be a law' the Church [rightly] appears hypocritical!

With the ratification of the 18th amendment in 1920, the notion of Church hypocracy reached its zenith.

In 1927, H.G. Creel, John Dewy, Bertrand Russell, C.F. Potter , and Julian Huxley founded what would become the American Humanist Association with repeal of Prohibition as their rallying point. They were quickly joined by both the Homosexual and Abortion Rights agendas.

By the time they achieved repeal 1n 1933, all three movements had gained enough influence and momentum that they were able to advance each others' agendas.

And now we have our current mess!

Conclusion: Legalism and political agendas weaken the Church's influence.

Not sure what part of Cali you live in, but the Church I go to is having a time of growth, we have doubled in the last 3 months. The elders faithfully preach/teach the Word of God. They do not use the Word of God to push their agenda, they teach verse by verse, paragraph by paragraph, chapter by chapter and book by book, keeping God's Word in context by exegeting the Word of God. The sad part is most Churches are guilty of eisegesis when they teach or preach the Word of God. It is hard to eisegesis the Word of God when going through the Bible verse by verse. What I enjoy about teaching that way is an elder cannot twist doctrine without getting caught because they are going through the Word in it's context.

And who's fault is that? Not the governments and you must be talking about the RCC. Because where I live there might be 5% of leadrship in the Churches around my home that are white and that is a high number. I actually go outside of where I live to attend Church, because I do not like going to Churches that are all one ethnic group, I like to go to what I guess you would call a mixed Church.
