I hate to bring this up, but can we call it resurrection Sunday since easter is a pagan fertility god?
It is all about the resurrection isn't it?
There is no movie that can do it justice, with the new technology they could more than likely do some high tech stuff to do it justice, but that would cost money and I do not see hollywierd spending that kind of money on a Jesus film to show the grandeur of His majesty. It would be great if someone would do a movie using all the new technolgy in flim to show His power in healing leprosy, the lame, resurrection, casting out demons and all His majesty and power. And less not use some good looking white guy, let get a short not so good looking Jewish guy that is about 5 foot 2 to 4 which was the average height of first centery Jews and this site has Jesus at 5'-2" http://www.naturalheightgrowth.com/2012/12/20/how-tall-is-the-height-of-jesus-christ/

Jesus was a short not so good looking Jewish man He probably had curly hair with olive colored skin and a large nose and no blue eyes. I would love to see a movie that is more authentic, I went to see the Apostle Paul movie, I did not like it not sure what they were trying to say, it was not Biblical, but the person that played Paul looked european but he by no means good looking and he did have eye problems as did Paul. It by no means followed the Biblical story line of the book of Acts where Paul and Luke were together.

This is still one of my favourite Jesus films. It has it's flaws but it is one of the better ones. It has aged rather well IMO. My favourite part is Sir Laurence Olivier's portrayal of Nicodemus. It's a bit of artistic licence but it was a good way to work the Biblical text it into the film. He recites Isaiah 53 during the crucifixion scene, realising he is witnessing Messiah. I always need a box of tissues to get through it.
This is still one of my favourite Jesus films. It has it's flaws but it is one of the better ones. It has aged rather well IMO. My favourite part is Sir Laurence Olivier's portrayal of Nicodemus. I must confess that my favourite movie about Jesus is the Gospel according to Matthew, a 4-hour long dramatisation of the Gospel of Matthew using only the text of Matthew as script.
I remember being completely blown away by how the Sermon on the Mount was presented, watched and rewatched that dozens of times - in fact that was a seminal moment in understanding several important Biblical themes!
Several other scenes still reduce me to tears even now!
The second noteworthy movie is the Jesus film used by missionaries and evangelists. I have watched this movie countless times in dusty villages and towns across rural Africa in several languages. Never heard it in English though! Best parts were to look for the "boo-boos" where the continuity director had not noticed the extras still wearing their wristwatches or other modern accessories!
Great movie, indispensable for the planting of dozens of churches across Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, and other places by other organisations also using this film!

Oh gosh! Will I never be able to not constantly weep at everything? I took communion in a church the other day for the first time and I wept throughout it.
Its not sad tears but I wish sometimes I could stop it. If I hear a song about Jesus, see Him portrayed in a movie, talk about Him with you guys, heck, even if I hear His name mentioned in passing, I always weep.
If this happens with any men, its probably harder because you know, that whole men don't cry thing...

through (had to throw out my soggy pillow) and I follow instructions given
by the illustrious Herald; and it finally works.
Well done Herald you have saved a soul from torment.
And this is the better scene of the raising of Lazarus from the dead.

I remember hearing one pastor who said that all Christians can raise the dead--
he said, "do you believe in Jesus?" then you just raised a person who was dead--- yourself!
