I say this because of two things.

1) We are living in the second earth the first one was destroyed by God by the flood.
2) The Kingdom of God will be like a Mountain, in Daniel's dream which smashes all other worldly kingdoms and reigns supreme.

I hope I am misreading this, this is not a second earth we are on the same earth that God created in Genesis chapter One. If you are thinking that II Peter 3:5-6 “For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.” Is speaking of a world that is any world other then the one in Genesis 8 that was destroyed you are mistaken, if not you are good to go.

Genesis 8:1-3
“Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.”

This is the same world that God created in Genesis chapter One.

Same earth, different world. He destroyed the first world, not the earth. The world is all living creatures upon the earth.

To me this reads like:

God is in control whether you believe it or not, because daffodils are better than hopscotch, and chocolate on my tongue is a slippery river of sweet deliciousness.

I believe the first part of the sentence, but have no idea how the two other things are related in any way shape or form to the first part of the sentence.

Many folks portray or prophesy a negative side, , such as doomsday predictions, that the world will end. That evil will destroy mankind. But they forget that God is here now he is in control of your life. You have to get out of the layers of negativity, and move forward in his kingdom. No matter what the devil has been able to pull down in your life. You have to trust God.

^ Well thank you for trying to encourage people in their faith.

I didn't think your OP was meant to be an accurate history of the earth. You were just trying to make a simple point. And you did.

The world is coming to an end. Spoken from the mouth of God, and the Son, Jesus Christ. If you don't believe it now, and die before it does,You will when you come out of your grave and your spirit put back into your body. Yep, like a magnet picking up nails.

Again, I truly believe God is in control, however isn't creating your own version of creation about the same as prophesying on the negative side?

BTW, no idea how you get the world won't end, when the Lord told us there will be a new heaven and earth.

If I get stuck with this body eternally, God lied. God didn't lie, so don't mind me for not buying your version of "your spirit put back into your body. Yep, like a magnet picking up nails."

I think the main point (or what I thought the main point was) is that God is in control.
And we all agree with that, but sometimes I start complaining about all the ways my day is being hindered and not going according to my plans and fighting the way it seems to be going. To me, this is me not accepting whatever He sends my way, because I really do believe He guides my every step and carefully watches over my steps. So I need a reminder (so often that you would think I'm idiot) that He is in control and that I should accept what He brings me, to either do, hear, suffer or deal with.

My Christ care group is studying Adam Hamilton's book called "Half truths"

One of the five is "God won't give you more than you can handle".

Which isn't completely true.

A better way to think about it is to say "God will help you handle everything you have been given."

Sometimes the bad things that happen to us is not because God gave them to us to test us or see if we can handle them. Sometimes it's our own mistakes (example: drug addiction, having sex and getting an STD). Sometimes it's because of the sins of others (being hit by a drunk driver, abuse, war) sometimes it's because we live in a sinful world (cancer, natural disasters, etc)

Whatever the cause for our turmoil and trials...God will be with us through it all. He loves us and will never abandon us.

I like the reminder that GOD IS IN CONTROL. however I would like to also say that God doesn't control everything that happens in your life. He gave you and others free will to control certain aspect of your life, and our choices have consequences.

Appropriate counsel for this tumultuous time we are in world affairs.

Even though many are putting up a brave fight against the institution of a New World Order we know that God himself has told us it will succeed someday. But we need not fear because God's New World Order will triumph over it. He is in complete control of that. Nothing can stop that from happening.

I understand what you're saying. I struggled long with all of this. But it becomes a moot point to get too far into it when you remember that God works all things to the good of us.

That's that utterly annoying patience thingy, isn't it? And people wonder why I find patience annoying.

I think the Lord has me on a short leash and there is always a squirrel just out of reach. When I was a kid walking my dog, (a beagle and a hunting dog. He was supposed to hunt rabbits, but I don't think he got the difference between rabbits and squirrel. No purpose in Dad teaching him the difference, since both were good for dinner), he was always wanting to chase one animal or another. (Usually squirrel or cats.) So I spent most of the walk holding him back, and he spent most of the walk just on his back legs, because the leash kept pulling up his front legs in his effort. When that happened, the collar would choke him until he turned around or took a step back. But he spent most of the walk huffing and puffing, totally psyched to go get that animal.

I felt bad for him. Most critters learn if something never works for them, stop doing it. He never got that lesson. I often wonder if I'm doing better than he ever did.

One time, he went after a cat under a bush. He wasn't a violent dog, so I wanted to know what he'd do if he ever got to the animal he was chasing. Still on his leash, I let him up to the cat, knowing if I saw teeth, I'd back him up. Never saw teeth. He got nose-to-nose with the cat and sniffed. The cat swiped him on the nose with its claws. Ends up, the only thing the dog wanted was to smell the cat and interact with it. All his wanting, and when he finally got what he wanted, it was a swipe on the nose.

Usually about what happens when the Lord lets me have what I want too.

Maybe there's a reason I feel like I get the short leash.
