There is no in between with faith in God. Either we
are all in or all out. If we get caught in that tangled
web of the middle it often turns out to be disaster.
It is important for us to attend a church of our choice

just in body but in mind and heart. These are times

drawing nearer to God as we get catapulted into a
world of that is far less friendly, much more evil as
it is said, cast to the lions. So this is our basic start
to the week but it should only be a start. If we are
not willing to dedicate ourselves heart and soul to
God we can easily turn out to be hypocritical in our
lives. Reading scripture, praying about what we
read as well as petition prayer should not be seen
as an option but rather it should be a necessity.
Too often we sluff that notion off as not having the
time in our day to do it. But that should be what we
thrive on, an obligation before anything else. God
doesn't take time out from loving us and tending to
us by pouring out His graces so we should at the

Him. Life should never be about God but in God.

Maybe I’m wrong but doesn’t holy mean set apart?

We are to be in the world but not off it. Going to church on Sunday doesn’t mean
you are Holy. No more than going to a garage means you are a car.

Im not going to church tomorrow, I have an elderly person at home who I
need to take care of. Ensuring she has a good Easter is more important
than me going to church and it doesn’t make me any less of a Christian.

Plus while praying, reading bible are good and we should want to draw close to
God, they don’t make us holy either.

Just saying.

Incidentally praying, reading the bible, etc should flow from a thankful heart
and from a position of wanting to draw near to Jesus. Needing to be spiritually fed.
It’s not a chore to do, or just to do because it’s expected or to be seen to be holy.

Sorry I’m not putting this across very well am I. Lol

Holyiness flows from the heart and our desires. It’s not a works based thingy.

Many of us are unable to attend church, so I do not rate that as all important. What is important is that I come into His presence every day, feast on His Word, take in His great compassionate love for me that is unconditional and enjoy the sharing with other Christians no matter where I am.

Christ has already made me holy - separated me out from the world by sprinkling His blood upon my heart, and giving me His righteousness as a free gift. And the Holy Spirit who lives in me inspires me to keep my eyes on Jesus and brings forth His love through me to others.

This Easter, I celebrate Him!

Miri, i will respond to all your posts in one place...if you read closely what i wrote,
you will find that i don't disagree with a thing you said...it seems though that you
feel I am judging you and am not at all, i write the ideal, a place to strive for and
a place i have come to, in order for those who have problems connecting with God
of which there are many can get some input as to a way to do it. If you have a
better way than go ahead with it, I would not criticise you. I need judge nor do I
criticise.

I did not judge or criticise you. I write what I write in order to help those who need
help and there are many in this venue as well as other chat rooms. I did not intend
to turn your world upside down or make you feel guilty.

I get what you meant Dusty, it’s just that a lot of
people do think being a Christian means going to church, reading the bible and
praying.

If that is all there is to it, then Mormons, JWs, Catholics and even Christians who
go to church out of habit and for no other reason, are going to think that’s all there
is to it. :)

But by contrast its possible to be born again and do none of these things.

Im not saying that’s desirable either, but I think Jo hit the mark when she mentioned
Chrit has already seperated her out of the world etc.....

The rest should flow out of that, but even for people who can’t get to church
and don’t have a bible (persecuted underground church for example), they are
still seperated, Holy, saved.

We all need challenging from time to time and I’m sure that’s what you meant
to do.

So be it, people can draw a bit of inspiration from both our posts if they wish.

Yes, it means that but it also means A LOT MORE than that. The Godhead is holy. The Holy Spirit by definition is holy. But does that simply mean they are set apart?

Holiness means total and absolute separation from all that defiles, all that is sinful, all that is unrighteous, all that is evil, all that is impure, all that is corrupted, all that is filthy (physically, mentally and spiritually).

Sanctification is another word for progressive holiness, since no one who has been born again is instantaneously holy. But they are indeed set apart in order to grow in holiness and righteousness. Christians are commanded to be filled with the Spirit, and since the Spirit is perfectly Holy, that holiness must be worked out in the life of believers.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Cor 7:1).

Please know Dusty that you did not at all make me feel guilty or turn my world upside down. I did not even feel judged. I just wanted to add some thoughts. Especially for those people who feel guilty if they do not go to a church. Much of what you said was right on!

What I have seen in my working with people for so many years is that they do not respond as well to the "should dos". It just makes them feel like they have blown their New Year's resolutions and they give up trying. But, I have seen them respond to wanting to study the bible more when someone offers to do it with them. And they also want to "go deeper" when they hear personal testimonies about someone's interactions with Christ.

Actually I never go to church on Sundays and Wednesday nights
the church comes together for a worship meeting
that's why we call a congregation an assembly

Amen as we set Christ apart in our hearts, as the Son of man did with the father. He will work in us with us to both will and do His good pleasure (imputed rightousness) If any man has not the Spirit of Christ they simply do not belong to Him.

2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us.

So Be Holy In All You Do,

There is no in between with faith in God. Either we
are all in or all out. If we get caught in that tangled
web of the middle it often turns out to be disaster.
It is important for us to attend a church of our choice
on Sunday but it is important that we are there not
just in body but in mind and heart. These are times
of inspiration and reflection. These are moments of
drawing nearer to God as we get catapulted into a
world of that is far less friendly, much more evil as
it is said, cast to the lions.
God
doesn't take time out from loving us and tending to
us by pouring out His graces so we should at the
very least give Him some of our time. It is for our
own good so we can live a joyous dedicated life in
Him. Life should never be about God but in God.
Your message sank deep into my heart. You rightly said "church of your choice", not any church. If the area where you live is devoid of good churches then your home can be your church.
