  Since You Have Been Raised In Christ Set Your Hearts On Things Above ( Col.3 )

Set Your Minds On Things Above,

Let go of earthly things which might drag you down
and filled with the Holy Spirit surrender to the things
above. Those verses are intended to help us grow
in the Spirit daily. When do that it is with the help of
God so that we may live a life of harmonious habit.
Is it a commandment; thou shalt do this, of course
not but it is a guide as to how we may live a 24/7
lifestyle. Does that bring us to perfection, nothing
will do that on this earth. Knowing we will never be
perfect should never preclude us from striving for
perfection even though it is out of reach we should
never give up. So these are not demands of God
but if we choose a life in Christ that is where our
hearts should lean towards rather than the things of
the earth. So these things come by faith and our
submission so that we may stay away from all the
horrors the worldly life can bring us. Our first choice
each day should be towards God.

1 John 2:15-17, “Do not love the world, nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, with the lust that is in it; but he who does the will of YHWH abides forever.”

John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

The life of Christ (Grace) is manifested through the Holy Spirit in the Believer when Faith is placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Finished Work of Calvary's Cross where the victory was won (Rom. 6:3-5, 8:2). Because our life is hid in Christ with God, which was made possible by the Cross, the Holy Spirit will bring about this of which we speak. He Alone can keep our heart and mind, can direct our thoughts, can help us to do all of these things and do them very successfully (Romans 8:26).

There is no amount of will power which can bring into line this of which we seek, no matter how hard we try. As stated, only the Holy Spirit can do this thing, and He does everything for us, through the Finished Work of Christ, in which we are to ever exhibit Faith.
