I have recently decided to read the Bible front to back, to familiarize myself with Gods word. I still have my daily and nightly devotionals, this is just something I personally wanted to do. On to my question... when God flooded the earth the only human survivors were, Noah, his wife and his sons. Do we all exist because of noah’s Family? If so where do different races come into the picture. I’m not doubting the word, this was just the 1st thing that popped into my head. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

As people spread throughout the world, those closer to the equator became darker skinned, and those furthest from the equator became lighter skinned, over a long period of time.

Short answer: Yes. All of humanity has descended from the three sons of Noah -- Shem (Semitic groups), Ham (Hamitic groups) and Japheth (Japhetic groups). While the human race is just one race, the various ethnic groups developed from these three primary groups. Shortly after the Flood, human beings gathered at the tower of Babel to learn idolatry. But they were deliberately divided up at that time by God through a "confusion" of languages (Babel = confusion), and then they scattered over the whole earth.

God made many different kinds,which means a cat is a kind but their is variety in that kind(tiger,lions,household cat) it's the same with man.Man is a kind and like I said a kind has variety
. So all the races came from Noah family

Highly questionable in less than 5,000 years?

Obviously not everybody got wiped out in Noah's Flood
which has more to do with Mesopotamia and the generations of Adam.
Not the entire global Earth.

Lion cannot breed with cat, therefore they are not the same kind.

To the OP. I believe it's recorded in Genesis 10, the table of nations.

The Bible does not specifically give us the origin of the different races or skin color in humanity. Even though there is only one race, the human race, within the human race is diversity in physical characteristics and skin color. Some speculate that when God confused the languages at the tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9), He also created racial diversity at that time.

The genes were already there (Even in Adam) just waiting for an opportunity to be expressed. Now go read Gregor Mendel's Hereditary science.

The best explanation I've heard offered so far was offered by a guest on Creation in the 21st Century with David Rives. She explained it in terms of genetics. I couldn't find that episode, but this episode begins to touch on this at around 15:00

Acts 17:

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being;

Except for the fact that...

a. There is world wide global evidence
b. Geologists (most) taught and believed this up into the 70's
c. The bible states clearly that everything under heaven that had breath died
d. Vs. 7 <---God will destroy man, beast etc. from the face of the earth

Peter, under inspiration, states clearly that the world that then was PERISHED being overflowed with water and the WORLD which now is is reserved unto fire.......

No offence mate.....it was global and there is much to be rejected in order for one to push a localized flood.....and genetically it can be proven that humanity (present) has come fro 6 sets of DNA>....The three sons of Noah and their three wives.....

One of the many reasons why the creation stories of Genesis cannot be read/taken literally.

I'm sorry to derail the thread but this is just wrong, and calls into question God's honesty.

Genesis 9:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall ALL flesh be cut off ANY MORE by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

Since there have been innumerable REGIONAL floods for thousands of yrs, including the Middle East, that have destroyed both man and beast, then your belief would make God out to be lying.

No you didn’t derail the thread . You potentially stoped a derailment. It needed to be said.
