God doesn't care how you make your money but how you use/spend it.
Taking references from the Bible, God has special arrangements with Egypt knowing fully well that they are idolatrous.

He directed Joseph there to make money & fame and Joseph in turn help God's people

He directed Moses there to gain wisdom and Moses in turn use it to help God's people

He directed Jesus Christ there and he in turn died to save mankind

He directed Abraham there, Abraham even lied in order to get passage and food for God's people

God does not give money. According to the Bible in Matthew 6:24

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

devil is the ruler of this earth, he owns the money that is the only reason why God could direct He's people to the land of idolaters to get their wealth.

I think you can make your money or get your wisdom anywhere but how you use/spend it is what God is Interested in.

Please share your thoughts, I want to learn more. Happy weekend people

From the verse "you cannot server both masters" does not follow that God does not give money in the same way He is giving everything else.

Great topic, it seems God told the jews to steal from the egyptians....I've often wondered about that.

Exodus 3:22 King James Version (KJV)

22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

If we are told not to murder, do you suppose murdering someone for their wealth is permissible to God? We are told not to steal, but what of committing fraud or a bank robbery in order to obtain riches? Do you suppose these methods are permissible to God? I think its pretty clear that God does care how you go about making money, and there is a righteous way to go about it.

Proverbs 11:1 King James Version (KJV)

11 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

God does not care how much money you make as long as you are only going by your needs, and not your wants, and you are making it legally, and right in the eyes of God,for He would not want you to make money being a drug dealer.

Paul said if anybody teaches that God blesses with money, and material things, for their wants, from such withdraw yourself, having food and clothing be content.

For the love of money is the root of all evil, for it neglects the poor and needy which is what it is all about, for the love of people is the fulfilling of the law, which some have coveted after money and erred from the faith.

Anybody that heaps money for their wants, and material things that are not a need, falls victim to the love of money is the root of all evil, which is a big problem for many who claim Christ.

Does God love people,or giving the saints money, and material things, for their wants, which God loves people.

Having food and clothing be content, but many who claim Christ are not satisfied with that according to the flesh, which it seems as if the kingdom of God is not good enough for them with the peace, and the joy,and the sound mind, and the comfort, and the love, and the eternal life, but they want to enjoy the way of the world in finances which neglects the poor and needy.

A lot of people say what would Jesus do,and then heap money to themselves, and spend money for their wants according to the flesh, but I do not think Jesus would do that but He would do what He does and that is care about the poor and needy.

Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

It is the endeavor of people when they heap money, and material things to themselves for their wants, for God only blesses us with our needs, and not our wants.

Um...where to start? Joseph was sold into slavery to eventually help the Israelites during the famine that would have wiped them out. Did the Israelites “steal” or were they just taking a severance package for services rendered? Money is part of the great deception. Money gives power to the genetically weak, causes greed and covetousness. The glorification of wealth causes people to trade their lives (and the lives of others), ignoring health and family to leave behind a paper legacy to be squandered by people who have no appreciation for what it cost.

God cares infinitely more how we spend our time, rather than our money. If we waste time amassing wealth we do not need, no matter the source, we have failed Him. We are the hands and feet of Christ. If every time you wanted your thumb to function to pick something up but it was too distracted to obey, would you be pleased? Money is a tool. If you have one hammer, great, you are able to do a job. If you have two hammers great also, then you have one to lend so you can get a partner to help you do a job. The purpose of life isn’t to get hundreds of hammers to store in a shed.

A younger me might have agreed with the OP and rationalized a Robinhood mantra, where as long as you are doing good with ill gotten gains it would be overlooked by the Almighty. The Golden Rule however is the one day hat should be employed. Do unto others as you want them to do to you. If you wouldn’t want someone to steal from, trick, or swindle you, then don’t do it to them. Accepting money that was generated from sinful behaviour also promotes that behaviour, so indirectly it’s not wholesome.

Ok...so by your logic I can assume the following are acceptable ways to get our money....

a. Porn Star
b. Prostitution
c. Hit man
d. Criminal enterprise
e. Usury
f. Ponzi Schemes
g. Fraud

etc.........

No, actually it does matter how you get your money...and JOSEPH was not directed to go make money and fame...he was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers who initially wanted to kill him, was sold as a slave, was jailed for honesty and integrity, was eventually brought before Pharaoh to interpret a dream concerning 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine, and rose to a position of power by God blessing his faithfulness.....

I would agree. He gives His wisdom which is a shelter just as money to be used on the things he calls separate or sanctified.(not Blood money) Money today will not serve any needs tomorrow if one is dead. If one sins and does not abide in the laws that govern. The death penalty is all around them . We should suffer for righteousness sake the better, shorter suffering.

Money like wisdom can either provide a Fortress to keep the enemy out, or a prison to keep then in. Either way it keeps as a shelter. .

The wisdom of God according to His law of faith (the unseen) His wisdom surpasses the temporal things of this world seen.

2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

I an in no place to judge but I would offer to be careful how we build if we build bigger barns having the right perspective can make for a content outcome. The grass might be greener on the other side of the fence but green grass is harder to cut, needing a sharper lawn mover .

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?Luk 12:16

Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!

So God doesn't care if someone kills for money? He doesn't care if someone sells drugs to get money? He doesn't care that girls and women pimp themselves for money? REALLY???

What bible did you get that BS from?

Please share your thoughts, I want to learn more.
If you want to learn more please revise the title of your thread to say "God DOES care how you make your money". If you make your money robbing banks, then that is already forbidden in the Ten Commandments (Exod 20:15).

When you borrow with no intention of returning.
You seem to make this a 'personal issue of the (israelite) women having no intent to return or repay....they were told by GOD what to do...ask of the egyptan women their gold and silver and would be given it.
Whatever INTENT God has HE repays in one way or another we can be sure !

Not sure what you mean, I posted a verse and commented on it then answered your reply.
