I am very curious to hear from those that think you DO have to ask forgiveness every time you sin what happens if you don't.

Are you no longer a child of God? What is He going to do to you if you die with uncompressed sin?
"Must confess each sin that we commit as we commit them (keep a specific inventory) as an additional requirement to remain cleansed/saved and if we forget a sin we are toast!" -- is a pretty tall order!

Notice that - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (vs. 9) is IN CONTRAST TO - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (vs. 8) and - If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and His word is not in us (vs. 10).

Wondering PennEd? What is "uncompressed" sin? :p Or does mpr=nf ?
Lol. Yeah I'd like to blame it on phone autocorrect, but more likely, I probably flubbed it!

Yeah. Unconfessed sin. What happens when we die if we have known, Unconfessed sin? Is God going to throw His born again children into hell?

I'd like to answer PennEd, I believe we are to have a general attitude of confessing / admitting we have sinned and that is all. We don't need to keep track and God doesn't either. At times we may not even think about what we are doing is sinful until we think on it a bit later. We automatically repent and try not to next time.

I used three verses (at least) to show how we can go to god, not through fear, but as a loving father and confess our sins to him,

and your still going to outright lie and say i do not post verses,

what a joke man, what a joke,
I did not lie , and again you still have not posted any Biblical ref: how many post out of 691 did you even you one Bibical verse ? You used three verses where ? Again you have not adressed 1 John 1:9 or Matt 6 & 7 in your last 10 plus post I have not seen any . and in context to our diaolog you have not posted any verses That I have seen where and when did you post the last passages out of our talks here? Then you say i', lying ? Please where in post 3 ? 689 Post ago?

Thats like the argument with James.

if one has true faith, they will work, it is not a question, true faith works

if one has true repentance, they will show faith, which in turn will show works. because one who sincerely and truly changed his or her mind will change to match their new belief system.

what I fear is religion has made repent into a religious word and not taken its meaning and twisted it. They make it mean feel sorry for. to beg forgiveness, to promise to never do it again (don't make promises, you most likely will not keep them) or I promise to do better (again do not make promises)

Repentance is like this, (an example) As a non believer, you feel it is ok to sleep with your GF, You have to test drive a car don't you, why would you not test drive your potential wife. so you disagree with god that fornication is a sin. WHen you repent you change you view, You realize it is a sin, It is a sin against your body (and hers) that if you loved her you would never do this to her.

now a few years later you and that girl broke up. and you have a new GF. And temptation comes, and you fall and end up sleeping with her. DO you repent again? How can you? Did you change your mind (repent)again and say fornication is not a sin? NO!..You fell to temptation, and sinned,

Thus you can not repent again, (as many churches demand you do) What you do is you go to the throne of grace and CONFESS your sin, (1 john 1: 9)

I hope this helps.
wow I found ONE Verse over 100 posted back from 691post. One verse " (1 john 1: 9)"

hands clapping. Would it be save to say your context of 1John1:9 is wrong ? because it is. the human reasoning in there to justify sin. And using only one verse to explain the paragraph of ones opinion that is a joke . the heretical, hypothetical, allegorical , explanation is not biblical.
