Most Christians don't give Satan control on purpose who are being oppressed (2 Timothy 2:24-26). Sin gives Satan the legal right to hold man captive. Yet, considering that Jesus atoned for all sin at the Cross, past, present, and future, at least for those who will believe, how can Satan hold Christians in bondage? How can a born-again Christian be freed from the bondage of Satan?

Most Christians you say......sorry....Jesus is not some weak, inept God with a small g....show me a verse or two that states that MOST Christians are in bondage.....

Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world....

The glass is not half empty and I dare to say that you do not even know 99.9 percent of Christians personally, much less be able to say what you said above in your opening line about MOST CHRISTIANS!

Bondage, the first thing to come into my mind over that word is, "bad doctrine", then "reprobate" thinking. I'm going to search those words in the bible.

Most Christians are in bondage from following doctrines of men. The doctrine of Christ (the faith of Christ) will set a person free.

Does not matter...your premise is false and misleading....you cannot say MOST Christians are in bondage to SATAN....based upon the following truths...

a. You do not know MOST CHRISTIANS and cannot biblically judge their stance before GOD
b. Greater is he that is in YOU than HE IN THE WORLD....JESUS is in ALL Christians by faith and spiritual birth
c. THERE are NO verses in context that STATES that MOST CHRISTIANS are in bondage to SATAN

Be honest man and face the facts.....just admit the truth and change your thread title...

You could have used the word SOME or even possibly MANY, but to say MOST is misleading and incorrect based upon a-c.....

There is no way you can make that call without knowing MOST CHRISTIANS and their walk before God....!

If it's not faith in Christ and what He did for us at the Cross, then it's faith that God will not recognize. The apostle says, "Christ shall profit you nothing" (Gal. 5:2). He says, "Christ is become of no effect unto you" (Gal. 5:4). That's the terrible problem that affixes itself to most Christians. They are trusting in things other than the Cross, making Christ of no effect. This guarantees spiritual failure. In fact, when the believer do this, they fall from grace. In other words, the goodness of God, which, in effect, is the grace of God, can no longer be extended to such Christians. The end result of such a position is bleak indeed!

Another misnomer and misuse of the word Christian......

A biblical Christian by their very nature is Christ LIKE....and a follower of Christ.......semantics means everything....It can be rightfully stated that MANY people are in bondage from following the doctrines of men.....It can also be rightfully stated that MANY MEN are bound under the false religions of men....One such religion has bound the hands of a billion plus people by teaching the commandments of men as the doctrines of God...

Jesus was clear...it is the truth of God that sets men free....and if they are free...they are free INDEED..........

CONTEXT......It is the terrible problem that affixes itself to those who BLEND faith with some form of law based works......and it is the ROOT that is corrupt......a false gospel has NO POWER to save a man.........

Oh foolish Galatians, having begun in the spirit (by faith) are you now made perfect (complete) by flesh/works (of the law)

Yet, considering that Jesus atoned for all sin at the Cross, past, present, and future, at least for those who will believe, how can Satan hold Christians in bondage? One: a born again Christian is set free from the power of sin and Satan
when they are baptized in the Holy Spirit and then pray in tongues.
The indwelling Holy Spirit gives power to the believing obedient disciple.
Such a believer is translated from the Kingdom of Satan across to the
Kingdom of God.

Two: Acts 10:38 > what has this to do with Christians?
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power:
who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil;
for God was with him."
This is Peter explaining Jesus to Cornelius and his household.
Jesus often attributed sickness and suffering to the power and rule of Satan.
Thus the truly born again Pentecostal Christian is able to lay hands on the
sick and pray for their healing.

Three: 2Timothy 2:24-26 is explaining how we who are spiritual and
steadfast in the faith can assist and support a fellow Christian who has
lost their way, or backslidden, through patient teaching in gentleness
"26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will."

It is a constant battle between the flesh and the Spirit; between commitment
and slothfulness; between the truth and another gospel ...
Satan can and does capture Christians when they allow [wilfully or by
neglect] sins to have power again in our lives.

When we humble ourselves and repent and seek the Lord he is able
to forgive and restore > grace.

Yeah.

If we serve God with our spirit(Rm 1:9 kjv), and we are to "study", be "workman", laborers together with Him, "building" a house of doctrine into our inner man, which "manifests" God in the flesh... then ultimately bad doctrine is to "deny" Christ and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to "the faith" of our ministry. Bad doctrine is wood hay stubble, and at the judgment seat "of Christ", we will all have some things to stand ashamed of.

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Such a great chapter, https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=titus+1&version=KJV

Do you understand "The Law of the Mind" (Rom. 7:23)? Did you know that most Christians operate under "The Law of the Mind?" Did you know that the sin nature re-activates when this is done? Did you know that when a Christian functions in "The Law of the mind'" they enter into "The Law of Sin and Death?" Do you know that Satan has a legal right to take you captive because of "The Law of Sin and Death?

I'd like to see those who say most Christians this and most Christians that to toss themselves into the mix too. Doubt that would happen, of course they arnt the ones with the issues.

"Some" instead of "most" would be more accurate. Also many Christians who are committed to serving the Lord are being oppressed and attacked by Satan and his evil spirits. So we need to make a distinction between "bondage" and "oppression" (which is a form a bondage but not the same thing).

This does not line up with the Scripture quoted below:

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

So you are confusing the mind with the flesh (the sin nature).

What did Jesus mean when He said in Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV, "Enter in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be who go in there: Because narrow is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it."

Should we change the gospel to read "some?"

23 But I see another Law in my members (the Law of sin and death desiring to use my physical body as an instrument of unrighteousness), warring against the Law of my mind (this is the Law of desire and willpower), and bringing me into captivity to the Law of sin (the Law of sin and death) which is in my members (which will function through my members, and make me a slave to the Law of sin and death; this will happen to the most consecrated Christian if that Christian doesn't constantly exercise Faith in Christ and the Cross that all powers of darkness were defeated [Col. 2:14-15]) Romans 7

Now you have taken a Scripture TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT to prove your point. It should be evident just from reading that verse that the Lord is speaking about the unsaved masses -- "many" -- going down the road to Hell, not the relatively few Christians who believe on the Lord and receive eternal life ("find life").
