Chances are, you clicked this because of the title... Its why i used this title, and about to tell you what the Bible had already made clear... Heaven is not our home... Eventually all born again believers will be in heaven but its not for eternity.... The Lord has told us time and time again that a new heaven and earth will be created and on this new earth we shall dwell...

I bring this up because so many times growing up as a child were told that if we want to be with God in heaven forever we must repent and believe

This is why its important as parents we teach our kids the truth... Dont hold back... Mine are 7 and 11 but when my son was 5 and 6 i was teaching him these simple truths

Recently we watch a kids story ( superbook - which i like ) but they didnt tell the whole story of ElijahElijah, Ahab, and Jezabel... So i found another that went further, even explaining how Jezabel was tossed out the window and the dogs devoured her leaving her hands only...

Okay, I'm done now... Waiting on my new home (on the new earth) lol
That is true that God is creating a new heaven and a new earth, the New Jerusalem.

Jesus said until heaven and earth pass away, not one tittle or jot shall pass from the law until all is fulfilled.

Which Jesus is the one to fulfill the law,but He has not fulfilled the role of perfect King on earth, which that will happen in the future,Zechariah 14,and the LORD shall be King over all the earth, and in that day there shall be one LORD and His name one,and the knowledge of the LORD shall cover the whole earth,Isaiah 11.

And when the millennial reign of Christ is over then the law is completely fulfilled on earth, and heaven and earth shall pass away.

The saints will go to the New Jerusalem, the new heaven, and new earth, wherein dwells righteousness, where sin has never been and sin will never be,and sin and rebellion will never happen again, and the former heaven and earth shall not be remembered, nor come to mind, for they are associated with sin and rebellion.

And all sin must be purged with fire, which the earth and all that is in it shall be burned up,and the heaven shall melt with fervent heat.

What this means is that the real. literal, visible, tangible Kingdom of God will exist on the New Earth for eternity. Sin and evil will be banished from the universe and the earth itself will be purged with supernatural fire. Satan, his evil spirits, and all the wicked and unrighteous will be in Hell -- the Lake of Fire -- in "outer darkness", and this earth will finally be a place where there is TOTAL RIGHTEOUSNESS because Christ is King over all the earth, and those who dwell on earth are not only born again, and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, but prevented from being unrighteous and unholy.

God and the Lamb (Christ) will dwell eternally in the New Jerusalem, which will descend from Heaven and hover over the earth as a heavenly body (1,500 cubic miles in dimension), giving light to the earth. There will be no sun, but God and Christ will be the eternal light for all.

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband...

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God...

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
I like this better,

Side note, nor earth nor heaven can contain God, God is above all, about the only thing I can say about that is He likes visiting his creations from time to time... lol

Rev 21
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place[SUP]a[/SUP] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,[SUP]b[/SUP] and God himself will be with them as their God.[SUP]c[/SUP]4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

9Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— 13on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. 16The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia.[SUP]d[/SUP] Its length and width and height are equal. 17He also measured its wall, 144 cubits[SUP]e[/SUP] by human measurement, which is also an angel’s measurement. 18The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it,
for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

One of the methods of approach to bible study is we are instructed to "rightly divide the word of truth" and I've heard it said, this means dividing truth from truth in the word. In the dispensation of the grace of God toward all men, the ministry currently at work, the ministry of reconciliation, which supersedes other ministry truth, we, the church the body of Christ are seated with Christ in "heavenly places", this is not God's heaven. It is a place of inheritance.

When our Lord and Savior "appears" aka "the day of Christ", we have doctrine about our catching away to our place of eternal vocation purposed by God, when the Father raised the Son from the dead. At this time, we will appear at the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of things done in the body, which is how we built our house of doctrine. The gold, silver and precious stones will give glory to Christ. Knowing the will of God, seeing the truth of the bible and having "knowledge of the truth" is exciting.

That's just your imagination. He has said nothing of the kind to believers. To the contrary, He has told them that Heaven is their home (John 14:1-3).

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Yes Jesus went into heaven to prepare a place for us.. A place with many mansions.. It is called the New Jerusalem..

And the New Jerusalem will come out of Heaven and down to us as revealed in the book of Revelation..

Revelation 21: KJV
1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. {2} And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. {3} And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. {4} And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. {5} And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."

You got to take the counsel of all scripture to get the big picture..

The new earth is hell. The earth now is partial separation from God, the new earth will be complete separation from God. Imagine the earth now with water that supports all life on earth taken away. Take away also the sun, the stars, the moon, Christians, and God. What will it become? A lake of fire and brimstone, outer darkness- where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. They will be covered in worms, and their worms will not die. No sea, no God. Doesn't sound like a fun place to me.

God said that His dwelling will be with His people forever more, we will never be separted from God again. Christians are not going to float back and forth from the new earth, visit God in heaven, and keep going back and forth.

Huh?

So God made Adam in a place of partial separation from Him?

The new earth is hell.
That is TOTALLY FALSE and contradicts the Word of God.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13).

If the New Earth is totally controlled by righteousness, it is THE OPPOSITE of Hell.

Heaven for me is in his arms and his arms are my home so really it depends on what heaven means to you

Heaven is not merely subjective. Heaven is A REAL PLACE outside of our dimensions and beyond our imaginations.

Yes this is true however in the end what a person defines as heaven or their true home is dependent on that person. I may not have been to the kingdom of heaven but I have been and seen my own heaven and that was when I was in his arms. I have only been in his arms physically once but when I was in them I knew it was my home and my heaven it was as if it was where I belonged from before I was born. If you have ever been in his arms you know the sense of home and true belonging, there is no place better in all of heaven itself than in his arms not any mansion or land of wonder that one might see or be in heaven or anything heaven itself has to offer.

Heaven is the hearts/minds of the believers:

Matt 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Heb 12:
18You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; 19to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, 20because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”[SUP]c[/SUP] 21The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”[SUP]d[/SUP]22But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.25See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[SUP]e[/SUP] 27The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our “God is a consuming fire.”

Well according to popular belief we have to pass the rapture test first before we go anywhere otherwise we get left behind. As the old saying runs no one is perfect but some are more perfect than others. See Romans 7
