On Earth As It Is In Heaven,

How many times have we all said the Lord's Prayer and how
many times have we dwelled upon what it said. In my case,
I did it for the longest time and did it by rote and it was kind of
like something on the "need to do" list. It was at a point where
my lips were moving but my mind was downtown. But with a
little reflection I came to ask myself, what is this kingdom and
what's it all about. Well if it is on earth as it is in heaven, it
must mean that heaven and all that it stands for is the Kingdom
of God. God then sent His Son to be on earth and to reveal the
kingdom to the denizens of earth. To be the example of and in
the kingdom. So the word kingdom obviously means there is a
King. So the King of our kingdom is God. But unlike earthly
kingdoms where when a king dies, the kingdom is passed on to
someone else, God however is King forever and ever. He will
not be replaced and will not retire. And in this case God is also
our Father and we are his children, those who believe in Him.
Then the prayer says "your will be done as in heaven". That is
why Jesus came. He said what you see in me, you see what is
in my Father who sent me. And most important of all, we are to
do His will and not our own. All that we do should be done by
God's will and not our own. So if I think of it a little more deeply
I find conclusively that His will leads me to a much more beautiful
place than I could ever devise for myself.

You make a good point, but it would be much easier to understand if you broke your text into paragraphs. It is difficult to understand what is being said because so much effort is being used to keep track of the line one is reading. :)

I would go verse by verse:

Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

God allows us to call Him father. He isn't distant but, loves us as children. His name is holy, sacred. We are His childre And carry His name upon our hearts. We are His ambassadors and should be holy also.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On EARTH as it is in Heaven

****

We seek that God's kingdom be established upon earth and that His will and not our own is done, just like it has been accomplished in Heaven let it be so here on Earth,

Jewish prayer concerning the promised Jewish kingdom with the rightful King on David's throne ruling and reigning on earth. This kingdom will be realized in the Millennium. It could have been ushered in at the time of Christ if the nation of Israel would have accepted Christ as the fulfillment of the promises.

Even after the resurrection, the disciples were asking about this kingdom:

Acts 16 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Only if Jesus had sinned could that have been possible, because it was GOD's will that he die for all. How could Abraham, to whom GOD swore he would give the land of Israel to, have been saved apart from the death of Christ?

I was speaking of after His resurrection, Jesus could have ushered in the promised kingdom on earth.

Abraham or anyone else can not be saved apart from the death of Christ.

Obviously it was his plan to build his temple first.

You sound like Hyper-Dispensationalism has captured your imagination. "Jewish prayer"! Tell us what Gentile prayers should sound like.

Every Christian should pray for -- and desire -- that the real, literal, visible, Kingdom of God be established on earth as it is in Heaven. During the Church Age "the Kingdom of God is within you". After the Second Coming of Christ, we will see the actual literal Kingdom of God on earth.

The church, the body of Christ is on earth and is established within the believer. The KOG is not visible but a spiritual kingdom in which the believer dwells. The KOH is literal, visible kingdom on earth where Christ rules as King at His second coming. Both kingdom will be realized at this time. The bride of Christ, His church, will return with Him.

There is ZERO difference between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. They are used interchangeably in Scripture.

Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?

For me.

When I focus and pray on this.

As Ariel says "We can focus on God as the Father"

So our Father is in heaven.
Focus on the Father then I see and know a Father.
I never had a dad, and it took a long long time to accept God as my Father.

So now I focus on the Father when I pray and thank him for the perfect love he has for me.

Then I focus on your will be done and your kingdom come.

Jesus said "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand"

Heaven come to earth.

Then I ask that I be like Jesus.

Love people like Jesus did.

I then find myself asking God and praying for people and be willing to walk the walk.

In a sense his kingdom has come and Jesus has left us his legacy.
To be like him.

I'm not saying I'm perfect in this and not being super spiritual either.

To me as I said his kingdom has come, we are in the kingdom and the kingdom is in us.

Then we do his will.

Hope I make some sense.
