How to distinguish the true deity from a very advanced technology?

Not exactly a Bible topic, but who knows.

I am a sci-fi fan. Stargate, for example.

Lets say that some civilization will develop to such a state of science and technology that they will apear mighty as gods in the sight of less developed civilization. Nanotechnology, destroying/creating planets, stars, maybe some kind of body-less evolution etc., you name it.

How to recognize they are not the real God, with certainity?

Very simple.

If they do not present Christ and Him crucified, they are pretenders.

If they do not present God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, they are pretenders.

If they do not present Christ as God manifest in the flesh, who came into the world to save sinners, they are pretenders.

The DOCTRINE OF CHRIST is the key to recognizing false gods, false Christs, false teachers, and false prophets.

How can we tell an Angel from an Alien. We are all indoctrinated to imagine Angels with wings and white night shirts. The ones in Ezekiel and Revelation really break that concept.

The Star gate idea may not be as far fetched as we think. The Great Pyramid has some very strange measurements that correspond with modern discoveries regarding the Solar System . The Japanese tried to make a one third size duplicate of it and found it impossible to achieve using modern technology

Technology doesn't change a heart from evil into good.

I like sci-fi.

But I prefer to imagine a world where such TV shows are just a means of
entertainment.

Real life is much more complex and brings enough troubles
of it’s own to contemplate on. Lol

Their birth certificate. Before you say "Yeah, but Jesus..." consider that He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." He could easily prove His deity, He could run circles around the most technologically advanced society that has, or ever will exist. Answer questions they couldn't even fathom to ask.

Well according to Romans 1, that would not have been a barrier to coming to a knowledge of the one true God.

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

There are some very strange things in the world. An ancient Greek Ships Compass was discovered. The Babylonians used Batteries made of Pottery and Copper Rods to Electroplate Jewelry. In Cambodia there is an ancient Buddhist Temple with a Stegosaurus carved on a pillar and Man made objects have been found in Coal Seams. I mentioned the Great Pyramid earlier and forgot to add that there is no evidence of a body ever have been placed in it and the stones contain Sea Salt which leads some to believe that it was built before the Flood. Many things have been hidden from the general population or dismissed as fantasy. We will probably never know the truth this side of eternity.

Do you think that all Israelites had heart changed from evil to good in the OT? Actually, a vast majority of them had not. And God made fire from heaven, moved sun or stopped sun, divided sea, send fiery snakes to bite them, sent angel of death to kill them etc.

But no change of heart for most of them.

So I do not think this is the answer...

You just answered your own question really. If it is a civilization, like you said, then obviously it isn't God. God is Truth, He isn't any civilization.

They could not do it because Genesis man was so much smarter then the most advanced mind we have ever seen. Remember Adam named every living creature on earth and did not duplicate names of different spieces. The read Genesis 11:6 And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.

Then look at the Aztec, Inca, Maya and what they made, modern man cannot figure out how to cut the rocks they cut and that was only 500 to 600 years ago, heck look at the Roman and Greek empires and the structure they built. They had sewer systems and great structures, but the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas were suposed to be less civilized.

Many think that the pyramids were part of a GPS system, if you ever want to read something interesting get the book called, "Did Genesis Man Conquer Space" Ken Ham is a co-author of the book. The book brings a Biblical slant to Von Däniken's book, "Chariots of the gods" instead of aliens they show how Genesis man could of conquered space with thousands of years of science with one language and a mind like Adam's. No lost information with one language.

Well I guess ask them do something which only God could do, but an advanced civilization, no matter how advanced, could never do.

My question was "how to recognize they are just pretending to be God".

I am not asking if a very advanced race is God, but how to recognize that it is not, if they will pretend to be.
