Was the first epistle of John written to believers?

Really? We have had multiple threads with their false gospel and their false teachings right here on CC and many Christians have raised objections to those postings. In any event, they have definitely distorted the application of 1 John and there is no question about it.

This is not about Budman or anyone else. It is about the correct understanding of this epistle. So do you agree that this epistle was addressed to Christians, and also includes mention of "antichrists" who departed from the Christian churches because of their false beliefs?

1 john is written to believers i agree,

as for hypergrace, their health and wealth, i am against, their gospel. We are in agreement, just like calinists and many others who believe in salvation by grace through faith.

I think First John was written to defend John against the charge of "Hey, you didn't include any tempations of Jesus in the gospel according to John." First John responds with, "I teach Father and Son and the begotten of God doesn't (didn't?) sin and Jesus raised bodily and if you don't believe these things then you are antichrist."
