Bacon!!!

Just joking. I have noticed that a lot of our disagreements seem to stem from a need to have some sort of control. Calvinism/arminism, grace/works, even the day of the week the sabbath falls on and what day Jesus was crucified. We have an inherent desire to believe we have some control or say in how events unfold. To believe that we must do this or not do something else in order to "hold up our end of the bargain" with God is amazingly arrogant and actually borders on laughable if it didn't cause so much discord among the Body.

Throughout the bible God shows us how His way is not like our way. If you want to live, die. Want to be a master? Serve. Want to be first? Be last. :)

I have found when it comes to control, the more I am willing to give to God the more I actually get. This is by no means easy for me as I was in the past a controlling person. What I get when I rely on on God to run the show is so, so much better than anything I am able to achieve on my own. When I cede the "right to be right' and instead focus on letting God tell me how to respond it is always much more enlightening than arguing until I am proven right.

Nothing wrong with using scripture to share our beliefs, but we should treat each other as though the other person's well being is more important than our own. When I am able to set aside preconceived notions and actually read what others post I almost always learn something.

Anyway, just some random thoughts at 4 am, lol. Shalom.

I agree with you but what can you possibly learn when people tell you that immersion in water is a must for our salvation and some say that we will fly away before the antichrist comes?

And, if you disagree with what i believe, do you tell me it's ok or will you correct me?

If I disagreed I hope I could explain why in a calm, adult non disparaging manner, perhaps over some bacon....

And if that didn't work, you could smack him in the head with a slab of frozen bacon...

I'm starting to see that strategy works for short term progress but is severely lacking for the long term... lol

That might be a problem for folks keeping a Kosher diet...,little piggies aren't on the menu.

Your random thoughts were really a synapsis of your priorities which are spiritually correct and essential in carrying out our assigned tasks doing the work that our Heavenly Father has prepared for us to do beforehand.
