In regards to Hebrews 10:26, To "sin willfully" in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE. Now we don't walk along our daily life and "accidentally" fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION. The unrighteous practice sin - (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21); not the righteous, who are born of God - (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9).
Consider this., it's not always about blatant sin in a Christians life that has to do with lying and cheating and living a self centered selfish life. It's also about going about trying to have our daily needs in life met by our own strength and reasoning.
What is really evil is not believing what the Bible says about Jesus and what He has and will do in the believers life by faith. Jesus told us what is true and where we need to go daily to have our needs met. When we try to meet our own needs for what ONLY Jesus can provide.... it is then we are sinning.
Trying to establish our OWN righteousness as believers is a sin.
Just as it's sin to not believe that Jesus is the ONLY WAY.....ONLY TRUTH....ONLY LIFE and come to Jesus and get saved by Him.... It is a sin to be saved and then not believe Jesus is the ONLY WAY.....ONLY TRUTH....ONLY LIFE.. today.
Jesus is our security., our peace.... our healing... our sanctification. to live here on earth and have our daily needs met for how to think., how to walk and relate in this world. How to relate to God., how to conduct ourselves has to come from Jesus.
I see it's completely a contradiction for me to accept Jesus provision for my soul and my eternal life and not accept Jesus for my daily provision for all these other things to be added on here while I live on this planet.
I see this is a daily mind set I must decide to make. Set your minds on things above not on things below. That means set my mind on Jesus who sits on the right hand of the Father. Allow the Holy Spirit to show me Jesus every day and to go to Him for all my needs both temporal and eternal.
