pic from the google earth, near the Damascus

does anyone can tell me if i 'm wrong about it ?

Sodom means threshing-floor or cultivated field and Gomorrah means cultivated-vine , these places are described as a place of vineyards
or wine-making, so-where-ever these places are, it's would be somewhere more fertile and green rather then a desert-wasteland.

I don't think it is. Something that big and obvious would have been identified as Sodom long ago.

I don't think Sodom was close to Damascus was it? I thought it was thought to be somewhere in the Dead Sea region.

Sodom is under the Dead Sea. What is now this sea used to be a lush, fertile plain. It was judged. It doesn't look like it used to.

It's a white blob on a satellite image hundred miles from the location of Biblical Sodom. Damascus is far north of the Dead Sea, not even in Israel, and Sodom was somewhere on the southern end of the Dead Sea.

No, that's not Sodom. There's salt all over earth and lots of things look white besides salt.

Here is a map someone made with probable location of Sodom according to clues the Bible gives us...

Damascus may look like Sodom after it's coming destruction.

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Maybe they once were but then God rained fire and destroyed them..they should be wasteland now.
