What would the world look like if the 1st century age of the miraculous had not ended? How would our lives be different if the times of New Testament apostles, prophets and supernatural manifestations had not ended?

If you feel that this age never ended, feel free to explain why.

Simple. There would be no sickness, no disease and no one would die. Mountains would be moving around all over the place because everyone would be moving them to where they wanted them.

Everyone would be healed. Everyone who died would be raised from the dead.

This is why God did not give such power into the hands of men who would be easily corrupted by it. Men would consume it upon their lusts.

That is the logical assumption to such a straight forward question. I have asked this question before and have yet to get a cogent response. I seems some faith is so blind it destroys the capacity to even question ttheir own surroundings.

Problem with that is we do not see those apostles and disciples of that era producing that outcome. That would lead one to deduce that God does not ordain this world to be without disease, infirmity and suffering until He returns to establish His millennial kingdom.

In my lifetime I've seen many miracles - healings, words of wisdom and knowledge that led to otherwise undiscoverable truths, even the calm seas whipped up into a frenzy.

Again, it all goes back to Mark 6:5 - if you believe in a world without miracles, you'll live in one.

Must be in one of the lost books. Lost because they were redacted. Maybe the seventh book of Corinthians?

I will say I think the Op has stated an opinion with this comment

What would the world look like if the 1st century age of the miraculous had not ended?”

The assumption is that the “miraculous” has ended. I think there is two-attitude camps or approach to the OP.

  1. The 1st century age of the miraculous has ended.
  2. God still does the miraculous today.
Number 1. Has some very big hurdles to overcome. You have to prove that God has not done any miraculous thing after the first Century. This is a flawed stands for one person to take. No one person confirming of a supernatural working of God has to be done to verify or settle the doubt of another.

The example of Thomas In the Gospel of John Chapter 20:25

[SUP]25 [/SUP]The other disciples therefore said unto him(Thomas) , We have seen the Lord. But he said(Thomas) unto them, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
Thomas had a hard time with the miraculous. Many presuppose that Thomas did in fact do; what he said he would do to believe . I do not see that in the context of John 20 even though Jesus did tell Thomas to :

[SUP]27 [/SUP]Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Jesus said “because you have seen “, He did not say because you have seen and touched me you believe.
This is the mindset of those who challenge the miraculous , so because they have not seen it they assume or raise a standard of verification that is not of faith.

Then there is attitude 2.
This is the ones who have not seen God do the miraculous by are believing God for a miracle . They hold to God is the same yesterday today and forever. Hold on to the prayer request and hope of God will answer. They do not need to see it, before they believe God still does the miraculous
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that the is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

WE should not put God into a box; we are to seek HIM in Faith and believe HE is the God the Miraculous today and He is God of every century Past, Present , and Future.

May be. It's a shame that so much of God's word has been redacted by those who find that easier than growing faith.

Roger, you never did answer my question from another thread.

Why do you readily accept the accounts in Acts yet totally dismiss the accounts in Corinthians?

Since Jesus healed ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE WHO CAME TO HIM, AND EVEN THE ONES WHO DID NOT, the hospitals had no choice except to shut down.

Hey Rick I can show where Jesus did shut down hospital .

Luke 4:40 states :

"[FONT=&quot]Now when the sun was setting, [/FONT]all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him(Jesus) ; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and Healed Them

There you go Bro. Jesus healed them all :) They most likely did not have "Hospitals " But they did bring all who were sick and Jesus Healed them all SOUND LIKE NO HOSPITAL WAS GOING TO BE BUILT THERE ANY TIME SOON!

Praise God !!!! THank you Jesus !!!

Uhm, no. People who didn't come to Jesus in faith weren't healed (see Jesus and the people in His hometown). Hence, hospitals were still needed. There were people who didn't believe and didn't receive mighty works from the Lord. On another note, anyone who came to Jesus in faith received healing one-hundred percent of the time (recorded in scripture).

I believe in a world with miracles, we see it every day on the news, in our answered prayers, in our own life.

now miracles in these buildings that you see on TV, or hear about in some churches. Thats a different story, i do not believe that even closely resembles the first century NT church.

Thank you I accept your incapability to overturn the word of God concerning His ability to do the Miraculous today . God bless you :)
