God Salvation

Paul’s revelation was given to him personally by Jesus Christ and it constitutes the final gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a whole new gospel not given anywhere else in the Bible. Two of the most important aspects
of this new gospel can be summed up in this way.

One, it presents God’s work for us in and through Jesus Christ.
Two, it presents the work done in us by the Holy Spirit.

Understanding how to keep these two awesome works of grace separate in our minds is most important to the renewing of our minds. The first element deals with what God does outside of us through the person of Christ. This is the true gospel given only to Paul. It is the fulfillment of one of God’s first thoughts found in Ephesians 1:4, which simply says that the believer was chosen to be in Christ. This is God’s act of redemption by and through Jesus Christ.

The second element deals with what God does in our hearts, our soulish part, by the Holy Spirit. This is the ultimate fruit of the gospel that brings the Holy Spirit to work in our soul. This is an important key to Paul’s message. Christ is joined to our spirit (1 Cor. 6:17) and the Holy Spirit, our teacher, is joined to our soul (John 14: 26).

Now these two great truths must not be confused with each other and neither should they be divorced from each other. The salvation of the believing sinner, who has put faith in Christ, by simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, allows the Father to give the believing sinner all
of grace, the whole bucket of grace
dumped on him immediately. Thus by simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, the sinner has entered into the finished work of Christ on the Cross as well as the fullness of God’s grace. Christ in the believer gives the believer the sav-
ing life of Christ and at the same time the renewing of the mind starts and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit begins in the heart (soul).

The believing sinner has nothing to do with his salvation other than having a need and simply believing on Christ. It is like a newborn baby, the baby has no choices, no alternatives to it’s birthing.Everything is done by the parents outside of the baby. The father puts the seed in the mother’s egg and nature takes care of the rest. So it is when a believer is born again, the sinner cries out for a Savior and the heavenly Father puts His seed, Christ, in the believer.

To put into a "context" of sorts, in the "growing/maturing (perfecting)" "in/of the Spirit?" And, to give a "baseline", of sorts. It is keen to realize that before, there was a bride of Christ? There was/is the daughters of men. Given as measurements of sorts, as to how successfully accomplished, not to mention how adept, the "fallen ones", have brought around (again), the "Days of Noah!" Which is also part of the great apostasy.

There is only one gospel. Paul was not saved on the road to Damascus. He was told to go into the city, and there he would be told what he must do. He was told how to obey the gospel. Ananias said "What are you waiting for? Arise, be baptised and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." That is the one and only gospel of Jesus Christ- the good news that if we die to ourself, bury our sinful self in the watery grave of baptism, and are raised to newness of life, we obey Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Romans 6 "If we join Him like this in His death then we will join Him in His resurrection."

"With flames of fire He will take vengeance on those who know not God and who obey not the gospel of His son."

do you figure he didn't believe when he obediently went into the city? Ananias calls him "brother" the first time he sees him, before laying a hand on him at all.

Ananias said "What are you waiting for? Arise, be baptised and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord."

no, he did not say that.

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

(Acts 9:17-20)

and my mistake, Ananias literally called him brother as he laid hands on him, not before, as i had said from memory instead of looking it up myself - though who says when he first thought him brother?

this is especially poignant

Ananias calls him brother Saul; he did not wait to call him brother Paul.

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel

(Acts 9:13-15)

when was Saul/Paul chosen?

is it not God who chose him? when?

perhaps this is a better measure of when he was saved :)
