The word as it came from the Holy Spirit is always true and infallible. There could be errors in the human translations and transcribing. That said, you will notice Paul was always careful to separate what God told him compared he just thought was right.

    1 Cor. 7:6
"But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment."
    1 Cor. 7:12
"But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her."
1 Cor. 7:25"Now concerning virgins: I have no commandment from the Lord; yet I give judgment as one whom the Lord in His mercy has made trustworthy."

The word we can say is inerrant from the mouth of God only.

Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

Yes, I have had this as my avatar since joining and don't plan ever to change it. Thought is looked colorful and edgy. I guess that I didn't want to come across as a dull person to the other members.

    Yes, I know that, and?

I'm not looking for textbook definitions (I have plenty of those) - just your honest, straight from the gut thoughts and opinions. Please leave the theology books and dictionaries on the shelf.

Please note: This is not a space for you to argue or debate with each other if someone says something with which you disagree. This is merely an "academic feedback" page for me.

If all goes well I'll post the paper as a blog in the future.

Thanks for the help and God bless.
Psalm 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

God's word is pure, without mixture. I believe every word is significant. Words, plural, are important to God. If one does not have the right words, one cannot compare Scripture to Scripture correctly. This is the foundation of allowing Scripture to interpret itself.
