Default Pope Francis: Buddhists and Catholics should grow increasingly closer

Pope Francis continues to sow the seeds of spiritual confusion every time he opens his mouth. This time he was addressing a delegation of Buddhists but could not bring himself to present a clear Gospel message. Instead this is what he said:

“It is my heartfelt wish that Buddhists and Catholics will grow increasingly closer,” Francis said, “advance in knowledge of one another and in esteem for their respective spiritual traditions, and offer the world a witness to the values of justice, peace, and the defense of human dignity.”

Now pay close attention to this double-speak and gobbledygook:

Unlike Christianity, he said, “Buddhism is in large measure an ‘atheistic’ system. We do not free ourselves from evil through the good which comes from God; we liberate ourselves only through detachment from the world, which is bad. The fullness of such a detachment is not union with God, but what is called nirvana, a state of perfect indifference with regard to the world.”

Hm, if you Check Breitbart, you can found that the Second Statement is Made from John Paul II in 1994.
Generally I would say, this is what I expect from an sect.

I'm not confused at all. The Pope simply doesn't speak for Christ.

And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

The Buddhists don't know that. As far as they are concerned he is "the Vicar of Christ".

You know if it was not for the religious and spiritual terms used in his statement, you could easily mistaken his address for a campaign speech. lol. It’s all politically correct. So pathetic. Selling out the Gospel for feel good politics.

That last quote is true though, but ironically is why the first part will not be achievable. Christians can try to learn about and empathize with the Buddhists and still be Christians, but by the nature of the false and demonic religion of Buddhism they will be unable to ever do the same and understand Christianity because it is the Truth and the lies of their false religion cloud their understanding unless they convert in which case they would no longer be Buddhists though.

There are as many sects of Buddhism as there are denominations of Christians.

When people speak in ignorance, they don't speak for Christ no matter what they call themselves. Many people speak of other religions from a place of ignorance and not wisdom.

The people I respected most before I accept Christ were not those who told me what I believed but those who listen, those who prayed and those who loved as Jesus does and not as the world does.

I accepted Jesus because I met someone who explained the gospel and told me that "Jesus is my best friend" and I saw it wasn't just a line but he believed it with his whole heart and soul.

a witness to the values of justice, peace, and the defense of human dignity.”
We should all strive to be a witness for God and His agape love.

I have faith that God will reach out with the gospel message to anyone who seeks to love others with a pure heart, who seeks His truth and wisdom with an open mind. God can call out His people from any religious tradition and does. We have it documented in the Bible time and again.

The ecumenism rightly will go to happen (Rev 17). The important is that we don't follow with the crowd. Instead, we ought to seek to know what is His covenant with us and manifest His light in the firmament of this world (Matt 5.14-16):

    • "The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant." (Psalms 25.14).
    • "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." (Dan 12.3)
"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth." (Hosea 6.3).

The whole world knows that the pope represents Christ (rightly or wrongly) and that the Roman Catholic Church is the largest body of *Christians*. Catholicism is worldwide. What you are referring to is not even in view.

here is , in King Kong sutra of Buddhists , there is a question : what's the hand in heaven ? the answer is :good, good, good.

so the answer also in the bible ,Jesus said :"no one is good but god" ,and the hand of god in the bible verson

    and
John 1016 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must [e]bring, and they shall hear my voice; and [f]they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
maybe they (Buddhists)go so far than bible teachs us.

but I think there must be only one god guide us and I believe in it.
    Proverbs 6
16 These six things doth the Lord hate, yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:
17 a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Nope never heard of the Pope as "the vicar of Christ" until I became Christian and meet people who didn't like Catholics...,none of the Catholic I met really mentioned it.

i believe God gives all nations His laws...maybe not in the form of the ten commandments or the old covenant sacrifices. However all humanity have been exposed to moral laws and abhor murder, etc.

The Law does not give salvation but understanding. It reveals that we all fall short and are in need of a Savior, a Redeemed..

The difference between the Gospel and any other religion is the belief that Jesus died upon the cross for the remission of sins, hurried and rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven. We don't have to do anything but believe and accept Him., then He will send us His holy spirit. The Holy spirit will teach and guide us and we have eternal life not because of our own merit but because of Jesus love for us and His sacrifice.

Every other religion, even some claiming to be Christian, will tell you that you have to work and earn your own salvation.

Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ says it's a free gift to those who have faith.

That is what is meant by God's amazing grace.
