what would you see if someone was running a live session from Ubuntu,Puppy or say Tails/pgp ect. ,,,what would it store?
It wouldn't matter what type of web browser or operating system a member is using soandso - they may see an error if they happened to hit post and that post hit the server at the very instant I clicked on save changes - the change is done probably in microseconds.

At the bottom of my Admin page after clicking on a particular thread this is typical of the response time and most of that is spent processing the php files to build the page to be sent.

64 ms is the time taken for the server to process the request from a user and deliver a response.

At the member/users end this will add to internet transit time (transit time is greater than the server response itself and the SSL encryption/security hand shaking adds to the delay).

An unsecured site will give the user faster page loads.

PS: I was trained as an electronic tech almost 50 years ago (started working in 1969). After working on a bench for 9 years I transfered into field service. I did engineering work on the product in the field to make the units work on the telemetry formats they used. Too many manufacturers didn't adhere to IRIG standards for the hardware. They created formats outside of the spec. Then with data already on tapes I had to modify our hardware to handle the non conforming format the stream of data was using. We made money off of modifying our hardware to handle this. I usually was the one tasked to make the changes and create an ECO (Engineering Change Order).

Then I had to involve myself with the software when a software engineer was unavailable. As a result I was expected to be an electronics and software engineer!! Fun times learning this at the customer's site. I did machine code, assembly language, C, and Fortran. We even made a preprocessor and I had to learn microcode for it. Did this for 31 years in field service. Traveled the country and world doing this on customer sites. Fun fun fun!!! Got to see the armpits of the world since telemetry is used to monitor vehicles under test to become planes like the F22 and tanks like the Abrams tank. Spent a lot of time at Edward's AFB and army and navy bases as well. Foreign country allies used our equipment. Got to see their armpits as well.

It looks to me like this is a 4.2.X version of Vbulletin released in 2013, there may have been upgrade patches and fixes applied on a ongoing basis.

It's hard say as a site owner can pay a one time fee for the software and have the ability to not show the Version number.

If this is the case, it could be why you are experiencing issues on newer devices.

You know this place is free for all to use . It is through the generosity of the owner we have a place to post and express our views . Your rants lack gratitude. They are reminiscent of a spoiled self centered child .
Get over it and your self.
Oh don’t tell me you have 40 years experience in rants . I forgot.

It is obvious to the casual observer that you are not under the law to be unblemished in the kingdom of the world of some kind of a sudden change or to the casual and the teachers who are in the basement of the house and not the Levitical of the family. The first thing you need is to make sure that they have the right place to be From what you have written here in the past and have different meanings for the most recent data available in the kingdom of the law.

Have fun figuring it out!!

I have worked 40 years for EMR Telemetry and was required to become an expert on computer hardware and software. The comment on each page about the possibility of posts being lost will happen only if the techs are incompetant.

The proper procedure is to take the servers offline at night after prior notice is given to users.
Step 1 then with the servers off line copy the database of posts to another computer
Step 2 update the servers
Step 3 restore the backup database
Step 4 verify database restored
Step 5 place the servers back online
Have you offered any help to the site owner?

Well you know those little red words above every post of any chrome user that says...
Notice For Chrome Users:Latest version of Chrome web browser may have some bug or incompatibility with the text editor here.^^^^^^^

That's probably why.

Sooooo, anyhoo. Do you think this new roll-out is more than a mere update now?

(Kind of impressed one guy did all this.)
