can a christian or family be cursed ?like from somone is the family from past & now

OK I have a huge question and I would love all some help on this matter,
there is this family that keeps having things happen to them in the past 10 yrs I mean just one tragedy after another , and yes they are Christians , and I know that God allows things for a reason but I mean enough is enough already .. ya know ..
I keep thinking about Job .. But even after he went through all that God reworded him .. so someone had mentioned to me another christian maybe there is a curse on the family somehow ? and now I am starting to think that .. ok so if there was a or is a curse
didn't Jesus take care of that at the Cross ,, so please feel free to reply thanks God Bless

Yes, Jesus did take care of that on the cross. I believe Romans tells us, but i'm not sure of its exact location. Anyways, there could be countless reasons for this. For instance, what are they going through? you mentioned job, but he lost his home, health, 12 children, livelyhood, etc... there are other possible explanations, of course, but i've never really read up on this stuff that much. Hope someone else can be more of help.

NO!
God doesn't curse those who love Him!
maybe somebody is secretly dabbling in the occult, or inviting evil in somehow: there are consequences for that.
or maybe it's just life.
bad stuff happens.
sometimes trouble is a test, but God does not change His mind about those He has saved.

I know of a grandma who would cut the tip off the roast every time she cooked it, when asked why do you do that? she didn't know but her mom used to do the same thing.And her mom as well. Looking into it deeper they found out that the reason her mom did it was she had a tiny roasting pan and to make the roast fit she cut off the tip of the roast. And this could have gone on for many generations.

The love that Jesus showed while on earth is the same love that applies now and is the love that God shows to us now.

God is not punishing anybody and God is not cursing anybody.God only touches people for good and not evil.

God said there will be many blasphemers in the last days which is calling God evil.If someone says God is punishing somebody or somebody says God is punishing me that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

God will put us through trials but it will be according to his will and will supply all our needs if we are obedient to Him.

The Bible says the prayers of a righteous man availeth much,and the Spirit will not lead someone unless they are willing to do God's will which is to abstain from all sin.

If they are not doing the will of God according to scriptures of how a Christian should act for the Spirit to lead them then they might have trouble because they do not have God's hand in their life because of their wanting to do it according to their will and not God's will and all sin is unrighteousness.

If they have trouble because God is trying to tell them not to be involved in material things and money then they need to change.

If they are having trouble and doing God's will then God will see them through it and deliver them from all trouble.

They probably fall under the category of loving material things and money,although I do not know,but know a lot of people who claim to be with Christ fall under that category,in which they think that living for God is gain,and the last days Church,the lukewarm church,will think that living for God is material gain and monetary gain which is actually sin,for God said havinf food and clothing be content,and God blesses us with our needs not our wants.

If they are not doing according to God's way then they might have trouble,but if they are doing according to God's way then God will deliver them from all trouble and will supply all their needs.

Either way God is not touching them for evil but only good because we are under grace and the love that Christ showed while on this earth is the same love that applies now.

God is not punishing anybody whether sinner or not.

You do realize that punishment can be, and usually is, used for good, right? And besides, I think sending someone to Hell goes under the category of punishment. And regardless, the punishment God gives cannot be evil, because He does it. Even if it was in the Old Testiment (not restricted though) God doesn't change, and has always been Holy, so He never could do evil. Besides, umm, God kills 2 sinners in Acts for lying in church. I believe that your facts are wrong, unless you don't see killing people as punishment.

We are judged as individuals, not families.

Curses are real. Up to the 5th generation. Jesus took lots of things to the cross. But the people have to claim they are free. AS if one gets cancer and wants to be healed they must claim the blood for their healing.

Also this family could be out of line with God. Maybe they are not obeying God. Most Christians aren't.

The Lord is just—no one is punished for something someone else did, I don't believe.

Women are still having pain in child birth from Eve.

Galatians [13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
[14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I came across this scripture while pregnant with my second child. I realised I did not have to have pain in childbirth as that is a curse. I had my daughter in 10 minutes with no mediation for pain as none was needed. It freaked the labor nurses out as well as the doctor. This was un heard of and my daughter is 26 years old today.

Later that same scripture caused a miraculous healing for me. Just that one scripture takes care of any curse.

I needed no medication for pain and never had any. Sorry about the typo. I felt it was important to re type that part. All because Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law

Curse of the law is different from curses. But thats really cool you claimed to be set free from pain. I'm telling my daughter that she is due in 3 weeks.

I believe there are curses on families that are not in Christ. Here is an idea. Look at the Kardashians. I use to watch the news and noticed that anyone from the outside that gets involved with that family, their family members die, and their careers go south. Look at the Kennedy's. One of their great great grandparents was known to be a hit man or something. It's been nothing but sad early deaths on all the generations. I know that once we are in Christ that is gone. This excludes Job and suffering. I also believe that God says He will curse those who curse us and bless those who bless us. But extreme suffering can be known in those who take up the CROSS.

Romans 12:14 says 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

But human beings cannot curse someone in a magical way. There are only 2 sources of super natural power- God and satan. As in the example of Job, satan can't do anything without God's permission- therefore his powers are limited. God's powers are not limited, and God does curse the wicked. He cursed Adam for his sin, He cursed Eve for her sin (and woe the curse of periods, child pain, and desiring to please a husband- especially for she without a husband who cannot quench this desire). The snake was cursed to crawl on his belly. Jesus cursed a tree for not bearing fruit. And we know that diseases are curses for sinning.

Not everything bad that happens happens because of sins or curses. Bad things happened to Joseph (my favorite bible story) but it happened so that God's people and Egypt would be saved from famine, and it was ultimately God's Will for His people to go to Egypt and be saved through Moses, because that represents how we are saved today through water. Sometimes bad things happen to good people- whether to make them stronger, or because satan is attacking them because they are going the right way. And sometimes they are going the wrong way and God is disciplining them.

One thing is for certain. God knows even every hair on His children's heads. He knows when they sit and when they lye down. Just pray and put everything into His hands. And keep in mind that a single thread cannot see position and purpose in the pattern of grand designer rug. But God makes all things fall into place exactly where He wants them because no one will prevent His Will from happening. And how can we be rewarded for overcoming trials if we never have trials? Despite the seemingly impossible things the Lord calls us to do, He will not let you go through more than you can bear. I used to ask God how strong He wanted me to be if I am already as strong as a spiritual Sampson. But I trust He is preparing me for something or someone that needs me to be spiritually amazing.
