18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation(2 Corinthians 5:18-18-19).

To be found in favor with God,back in harmony. We are reconciled back to God to have fellowship with Him,like Adam was in fellowship with God.

God reconciled sinful mankind back to Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man in harmony, and all who have the Spirit, are in harmony with God.

I've had a difficult situation recently, but God has been helping me and redeeming me. His love and mercy is great, no matter what we face dear lovely pickles. I'm sure u know this too. I love the scripture in Jesus' brother's book in James 1:2 "Consider it pure joy to face various trials'.

My christian friends are very supportive of me. In scripture it says Jesus said ' For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them'. My lovely Christian friend sends me "Everyday with Jesus" daily Devotional. This is to nurture in me the love of God.

Hi Pickles,

Good question, and one I pray we all think about, study about and pray over. so that we may, with a joyful and humble heart agree with Job, '' although he may slay me, I will trust in Him''.

Romans 5:8-19

8but(A) God shows his love for us in that(B) while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore,(C) we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from(D) the wrath of God. 10For if(E) while we were enemies(F) we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by(G) his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received(H) reconciliation. Death in Adam, Life in Christ

12Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— 13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 18Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

I believe this passage helps answer all our questions.

We are all have sin imputed from Adam (v12), we are all at emnity with God. To be reconciled implies a relatioship that has gone sour and needs mending. Through Adam all of mankind (human race) are sinners (imputed) v18a. Adams sin brought death, so all mankind through Adam will die, it is sin that brings God's wrath upon humankind for God is Holy. Since God is Holy, we are to blame, it was sin that alieneated us from God.

Reconciliation is how God makes His people 'just' before Him, we are Justified in His sight, this is only through the blood of Christ and, therefore, saved from the wrath of God upon evil (v9).

Sso far two things we have noticed:

1) we were at emnity with God (enemies), this came about through Adam.. it was an imputation of a sin nature.

2)Through Jesus, while we were still enemies of God.. God saved us, through His Son's sacrifice and resurrection.. are Old (Adam Nature) died on the cross, and we are saved ad through Christ we have a new nature, this is Christs imputed righteouness.

Those who are saved from the wrath to come (v9), have not Adams imputed nature, but the imputed nature of Christs righteousness ::>

Reconciliation through Faith has brought us back to a ''right'' (Just/justified) standing before God. No longer are those in Christ enemies of God, but children, friends (John 15:15):

Ephesians 1:4-5::>

4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

Through Christ, we have His righteousness earned and merited by Him, through His life, Death and ressurection.. we no longer have Adams 'unrighteous standing.

Remember, our righteousnes is as filthy rags.. it smells like death! Our standing beofre our Holy Sovereign God is His doing, He Loved us while still sinners, He saved us while Still sinners.

May we rejoice in even the worst circumstances as was Job, and say like Job.. ''even though he may slay me, I will trust in Him''.

We are alive in Christ Jesus!

Soli Deo Gloria

<< 2 Corinthians 5 >>
New International Version Our Heavenly Dwelling
1Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
6Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7We live by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
The Ministry of Reconciliation
11Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. 12We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
16So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sina for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of G

Old Testament: God accepts OUR sacrifice of a lamb for the forgiveness of sins.
New Testament: WE accept God's Sacrifice of a Lamb (Jesus) for the forgiveness of our sins.

Build on that.

Thankyou all so very much for your answers.
I love the scriptures you have shared, and read them often.
My difficulty is wrongs that continue to be done to me.
I forgive in Jesus as scripture says, seven times seventy and more.
I know I still need to forgive and seek this continuesly.
But I am still struggleing with it, as I can do nothing to stop or refuse these people in my life.
I had hope to find something in reconciliation that could help.
But I see now that I need to forgive more compleatly in Jesus.
That it is me, not them that is keeping this in heart.
Thankyou for all your help.
God bless.

Jesus answered my prayer and my cry.
I praise Him for giving me His eyes to see, His love to forgive, His blood that healed.
I just want to witness to those that cry out, be still and listen, Jesus will bring His heart to you and in this all that is needed.

One way I witness is to just be whom God made me to be.
You may be the ONLY Bible that people read. In you, what are they reading?
I see at my work, so-called "Christians" talking "Christian-ese" around me but then cussing and swearing when they're around worldly people who talk the same way.
I go to work and see and feel such negativity. It's time for the Light of Christ to shine today!

Let's shine His Light where ever we go.

One thing I found with myself is that I thought that people who I forgave understood what they were doing to me. I thought that because they were educated people (whether believers or not) they knew the difference of a kind word and an insult. After I prayed about it I realized that to them, it was a statement to me it was an insult. I also was given this website in answer to a prayer and you told me once (also an answer to my prayer): "Jesus died for there sins and to not forgive is like saying HIS death was not enough." (paraphrased, sorry lost the exact quote) And that does help me every day with all people. I am a more loving man because of those kind words. I hope you find the peace you deserve pickles.

Hi pickles,
We need to become as Jesus, of one heart and one mind, and as God is love, to be perfected means to be perfected in love, whereby this state of love allows no fear or doubt. But this is God's work. You are His creation and it is not possible for you to save yourself. God has always known that we have to be saved and this by Him and Jesus Christ is the plan Please know it is God's work, you are His workmanship.
eg, In this area we have had severe flooding, possibly the worst in our history because it has been over such a large area, an area larger than the state of Texas. People have gathered to help one another, to help tear out the piled rubbish left of furnishings and stinking mud and rip out walls and throw them on the roads for trucks to cart off. Thousands of houses are stinking skeletons.
My life is fairly full and I wanted to help but did not see a way.
Today and generally on Thursdays, I visit my mum, 88, and help her with her shopping. She lives alone. After leaving my mothers house, considerably earlier then normal, I was chatting away to Jesus asking how my help could be more specific rather than general. As I walked to a train station to go home a rapid storm approached and within minutes I had to stop as the rain became quite heavy. I stopped maybe 200 yards from the station and sat on benches for 15 minutes. I watched the train go by and then a van wanted to park on the footpath under the shop awning. I muttered under by breath as I stood and made room for the van to sneak by on the width of the footpath and the bench on which I was now sheltering. A lady came and said I could go inside and sit in comfort. They started to unload donations for flood victims.I asked if I could help and so that is how I spent the next few hours. It looks like I will be in the fray again to morrow.

So you see that we have to be ready in season and out of season to do His work. He provides the opportunities, we just have to pick them up. I watched my pastor drop the ball. A drunk black man wanted to go in his vehicle. The pastor refused. I questioned the pastor about this and he said that God did not test him in little things anymore because God now only tested him in big things. I think how sad it is for my minister to miss such a wonderful opportunity. God doesn't ask us to pick up Miss Universe or the pope, but someone who will test our love.
Please pickles, rest in Jesus, trust in His ability to provide what is necessary for your journey. You are just called to believe and not turn back.

love

Hi Pickles,

How do we see others? How we answer this question is entirely dependent upon how closely we have drawn near to God, seen His holiness, and been judged by the light which Jesus is. Reconciled to God, that is the question. How reconciled to Him are we?

When we see Him, not one thing of what we believe or hold as truth will be left unexamined. Not one thing we love, not one thing we desire, not one thing we hold dear, will be left unexposed. Every single motivation, every single excuse, every single self exaltation or pride in who or what we are will be laid bare before our eyes, and we will be undone.

We are told to judge ourselves, but how can we? We are blind and ignorant and pitiful and in our arrogance we believe we know what is in God's heart. We don't even know what is in our own heart.

The gulf between us and God was such that no one could cross it. Only God, in His grace, crossed and revealed Himself to certain people, all with the intent of preparing a people to receive His Son. But even in this, so few could hear the voice which speaks in a language not known to human ears, one which only the Spirit can open our ears to hear. It is the language of God's love, and it is expressed in the life, the death, the resurrection of His Son.

In this language is an invitation. Not many accept. This invitation is to enter into the holy and majestic presence of God, to see Him and to know the truth of who and what He is. And it is here that we find the truth, and the life. Faith in Jesus and His finished work is the key that opens the door into God's house, into His throne room. The reconciliation is the promise, but it is not finished until we enter.

For God desires us. Just that simple. He created the entire creation for us, so that we would know Him as God. But what does it mean to know Him as God?

The only true answer to that is in His presence, at His throne, covered in the blood of Jesus, washed in the pure water of His love, with a heart that wants above all things to know God as our God.

The light is bright, blinding even. It destroys all that we are that is of the world and of the flesh, bit by bit, until all that is left is the new creature we are in Jesus.

In His love,
vic

Thankyou all so much for your encouragement and help.
The situation I am in involves a family member I love, that shows one face to me and another behind my back.
This person has caused much injury not only to me but to many with gossip for some time now and continues to.
I praise Jesus for bringing much learned in this to my heart.
I have forgiven, my main question here was if when we forgive, even if the person does not see their sin, are they reconciled to us in Jesus.
I recieved several different opinions on this.
But I finally just looked to Jesus, knowing that all is in Him, God Our Father through His Holy Spirit.
He set on my heart that He is the vine, I am a branch, I must always look to Him (Jesus) for fruit to grow.
If I keep looking elsewhere, I might just twist to much and fall off. :)
My eyes are on Jesus, my heart is healed in this.
It is hard to have someone you love hurt you, but then one considers, God Our Father, Jesus, loves us better than any of us can imagine.
And many in the past, we in the presant , often hurt Him.
And God just keeps loving us even more!
Ill just keep loving in Jesus more!
In Jesus, God bless!

I have never stopped feeling pain when betrayed or misrepresented. Even yesterday, someone gave me a negative feedback because of something I posted, and it hurt. I suppose that it will always hurt, until I am gone from this life completely.

But something I know, in the deepest places of my heart; Jesus felt the same hurt! He was rejected by everyone! I truly believe that this was His most painful experience. The expression of the Father's love, rejected by the ones this love is for, over and over again.

When Jesus pronounced judgment against those who would not come to Him, who not only would not come to Him, but prevented others from coming to Him, it was not His judgment. No, it was His Father's judgment, because He was the one angry. Jesus felt these words in a way that those they were directed at could not imagine.

When we have His heart, the heart of Jesus, we are in the same manner, seeing the love of God, and knowing how it is rejected. And that breaks our hearts.

In His love,
vic
