Questions about the conscience

Dear giantone, I think we should just trust the LORD with all our hearts, and lean not on our own understandings. I think if one's heart condemns him, God is greater than his heart, and God will forgive him, whoever he is. God will forgive us, whatever our heart tells us. Sometimes, we think bad thoughts. I have bad thoughts. But then another part of my heart disagrees with the bad thoughts, and rejects these thoughts. Which part of the heart is the one which God will look on? Will God save us from bad thoughts, and accept the parts of our hearts that trust in Him and which reject the bad thoughts? In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

this shows you how important the conscience is as a guide.This is saying in the latter times,which is now,some shall depart from the faith.They do not depart from christianity,they claim it,but they departed from the truth of it,and received a wrong interpretation of it by seducing spirits,and were taught doctrines of devils.

I liked the the thought that people are not necessarily falling away from "Christianity" but certainly from genuine child-like faith in God; an important distinction, mpaper. Thanks for sharing it.

I've always felt really good about this verse, because I see it as a very strong sincerity verse in which people who may have never heard of Christ can still be right with God as long as they are "walking in all the light they have" (as John put it).

In particular, it says that they show the work of the law. I take this to mean that, despite their lack of proper theology, they still do the works of God (i.e. loving others etc...). Perhaps in some ways these people are better off than those of us heaped with theology; doing what is right just because it is right and not because of a doctrine.

Anyway...
