The good news is that Jesus has done everything needed and necessary in order for us to be reconciled back to God. The simple fact is that as earthly and fleshly people, we were the enemies of God, and therefore had no true life. (True life never ends.) when we receive the truth, which is that God loves us and sent Jesus for us, God starts a work in us which lasts until we go to be with Him. He gives us His Spirit, and by the Spirit, we receive new life in the form of God's seed, and these things make us God's children. We still need to draw near to God, seeking to come to know Him in truth. (Otherwise, why be reconciled?) what we finally come to have as our truth of our existence is that we have died with and in Jesus on the cross to all that we were before, and have been raised again to newness of life in His resurrection, and the life we have now is in Him, by the Spirit. Old things are passed away, behold, all things are new. And because we are drawing near to God through Him, Jesus always lives to intercede for us. It is why He came.
