I've seen it in books and movies and on the history channel, there are people of the catholic faith and Jewish religion who do not believe in hell. How is this possible? can you have one without the other? and if they are reading the same scripture i am where does it say there is no hell? where does it say there is?
Thanks, Bless you all. Gina |

The main religion that practices 'only heaven and no hell' is Mormonism. They believe that hell is only a 'state of mind' instead of an actual physical realm. They believe that there is only heaven, and those who die go to certain 'levels' of heaven. They say that the lowest level is basically like the 'hell' Christians describe but that's only for the people who are unrepentant of their sins even after death. Mormons also believe that as long as you're a good person then you will receive a higher level of heaven, and if you believe in Jesus Christ then you get an even higher level in heaven.
This is not biblical, the Mormons base all of this off of 'the book of Mormons' which is a debated subject all on its own. |

My very catholic mother in law is in denial, everytime i try to bring up god and salvation and the fact out of 8 kids only 3 of them believe in god and trust me its her and dads fault! they raised them on nothing! i bring all this up and i get ignored, how can you not talk about hell? when you talk about heaven? it just amazes me at the idea that you just Poof disappear. or on the other hand, Oh my kids are good kids they dont believe in christ and drink like its going out of style but i know they will make into heaven so i dont need to teach them about christ and hell. SERIOUSLY? im so frustrated with this right now. i love these people and fear for their souls, they just shut me out.

you need to pray and ask God to do a work within them ask Him to give them a heart of flesh, because a heardened heart he can do nothing with Jesus said when you hear my word heardn not your heart. when we come across people like this only He can change their view.

I know this.
I just dont understand the concept of believing in Heaven and not hell? or believing in the teachings of Christ and not teaching your kids the TRUTH of not believing. Hell. People is very real. why cant some people say that outloud? How do you get someone to come out from behind their little safe wall blocking the scary stuff from them, how do your bring the truth down around them for them to see it? I dont know how to approach someone like my mother in law who is "catholic" and WOW went to catholic school, yeepee for her, and knows all the saints by heart. But when you bring Christ up and Sinning and Hell she just baulks and walks away to make another vodka cranberry. I need something in my arsenal that i can use on her that will make her stop and pay attention. |

Maybe it's because people don't want to think of Hell as a possible destination. Or they don't want to perceive themselves as unworthy of Heaven.

Hello,
People are afraid of the word HELL and for what it represents. The reason their afraid is most of the time they know that they are not right with God and not living in a way that is not Gods will. There are those that do not even believe in God yet alone hell. |

Hey speaking of no one wanting to talk about it, not many pastors i think talk about hell or what it is. But still we should not scare children into the christian belief by using hell in many wrong forms or ways that they should not yet reach.

People believe what they want. What suits them. If they don't have any intentions of changing it would serve them best to pretend there is no hell right? Just keep praying for them. God bless you! |

One thing that helped me, was to recognize the Fact that were already on the Highway to it, Hell. All were waiting on is the king of Hell to arrive, antichrist (some people wonder why the scriptual languages are important) this is another good example, as in English, anti-christ comes across as against christ; when in fact the word in the manuscripts means instead of christ.
Just being real, and knowing the traits of Our Father, where else could we be? Murder, Rape, Child Abuse, lieing, cheating, stealing wars etc... anti-christ = the serpent, the dragon, the son of predition, the false mornig star, satan, Lucifer, the devil, evil, ill communication and theirs more, thats just off the top of my head, But the one i'd focus on is; The King of Babylon as Babylon= Confusion. Love and Peace to ALL in CHRIST!!!Forever!

However, the majority of the bible is about the world we live in and how to treat our fellow man, which is why Judaism rarely (if ever) teaches about heaven or hell. |

The SDA actually do believe hell. They just have a different take on it.
The believe in degrees of punishment. That after you have endured a "just" amount then you cease to exist. Everyone will suffer according to their deeds. |
