Understanding 4
Talents (money) (natural ability) and Understanding
Matthew 25:14-15
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
This is compared to Jesus giving us talents (natural ability) and we are able to do many things with it but if we do not use it then why should we keep it. So here He gives them what they receive from their abilities.
Matthew 25:16-17
Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
So the more you have been given either talent or understanding or even a job you are to be expected more, require more than before because the place you are in.
Matthew 25:18
But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
I am not catholic but even other faiths believe this if they want. This compares to something called "sin of omission" which means, something that we are able to do and should do as saints but instead we ignore it. Like today, people can have extra money after they bought groceries and what they wanted but they see a homeless person they ignore it. Also like someone sees a brother needing help or a hand and the person ignores them and think they are doing all right in the eyes of God but instead are doing the opposite of what God called us to do and that is LOVE. This is one of the things called accountability that God will expect us to do.
Matthew 25:19-23
After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Here is what we saints should do, what God has given us should be used and if they are used for the glory and used properly then we receive more!
Matthew 25:24-26
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Back then not many scientist and very smart people wanted to share their knowledge with people so they may manipulate them because they that did not know were dumb to them and they wanted the so called normal people to come to them instead of learning it. This compares to the Jews (not in any offense) but they before Christianity started or you can say before the Lord came (Jesus) the Jews were responsible for spreading His word, but as you can read the bible they kept it mostly to themselves such as in Jesus times, for the religious people wanted their glory and not to teach men as they should have.
Again this is saying for those who do not use what they have will be taking away. Friends do you use the gifts that God has given you? Again think about the Jews in Jesus times, the ones that did not understand is because they did not use what God has given them from within and the only way they could understand was to stick around Jesus longer such as the disciples and then they would understand what He was saying like the secrets of heaven......(seed parable).
So friends we should use what God has given us or He will take it away from us. You cannot play the piano if you started a couple months and then stopped for years and then expect to know what you played in less you practice, and take time to do it again. Am i getting to someone here, for these thread that I have just been posting is your benefit and mine so we both can glorify God, not to debate brother and sisters
