I hope that we can have a true and good discussion of this without going overboard.
Mostly, because there are so many things that are happening these days, and it would be good to discuss this soberly as christians.
Jesus said when you see the signs, you will know so pay attention.
As to the spacific spoken to , only God Our Father knows the day or hour, but we can know the time is coming or near.
I wanted to see if we can have a good conversation, mostly because alot of the endtime stuff is beyond my understanding.
I was always a scoffer, simply because one can see anything if they want to, and I believed that this
is trusted to God Our Father.
Also we should be ready everyday, as one never knows when one life will be called.
But, more and more, there is a sence of this resting on my heart in Jesus.
That we are very close.
Not given for fear, but so that all in Jesus will be ready as called to be in Jesus.
I hope, that many will share the scripture and understanding.
Also, what is on ones heart in Jesus.
I guess Im looking for a common thread in Jesus, that rests on all heart that follow Him.
BY the way, this is not because of all the hype about 2012, or ay other worldly prophacy.
This is more about a desire in Jesus, for all to be ready in mind, heart ,soul and spirit.
So please share what is on ones heart, or scripture that Jesus asks be witnessed to.
Thankyou and God bless.

Hi pickles,
I am 64. I was called to be an end time Witness, one of the two in Revelation. I do not know any more on these matters than anyone else and a lot less than some. I see one pastor profiled me very well. Of course he does not know me and I have not told him.
So it will be in my lifetime. I know Jesus loves me as He has shown me many times so therefore I am hoping (not knowing) that I will die at the age of 70.

WOW Ed!

A lttile frightening perhaps, as you are suggesting that it will be so soon....it's scary how my first instinct is to doubt your story... but thats just human instinct I guess. Anything is possible in God! Are you able to share a little more about this? How do you know?

Matthew 24:36 36″No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. “

No belittling you Ed,but God did not call you to be one of the witnesses in Revelation, for they are sent to the Jews to turn their hearts to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah, and will not spend time on the internet talking to the Gentiles.

Like Jesus said,He was sent to the lost sheep of Israel, and the 2 witnesses are sent to the lost sheep of Israel, for God cannot further His plan of the millennial reign of Christ until the Jews recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

Jesus says the Jews will not see Him again until they blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.

1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober(1 Thessalonians 5:1-6).

Paul said that he has no need to write unto us concerning the day of the Lord, but gives us a hint of when it is near, when they say peace and safety for the world, which we see a lot of that today.

American president Barak Obama said,to those who seek peace and security we support you.

Former Russian president Vladimir Putin said,Europe and Russia needs to put aside their differences and offer peace and safety for the world and for themselves.

Former president George Bush talked about peace and safety.

These are to mention a few,but there are many who speak of peace and safety for the world, but when it comes from Europe and America it is even more real of the world coming together thinking there will be peace and safety.

Ed, you need to read the Scriptures and put away the notion that you are an end time prophet.......Are you feeling ok? Your post makes no sense. Please, read the Scriptures.

The cannon of Scripture is closed Katy. The end has been decreed. Ed can't possibly be one of the witnesses of Revelation 11 for numerous reasons. Read the book of Revelation. You need to discern this.

God has not stopped talking. He is waiting for us to throw off the chains of bondage, the futility of our imaginations, the emptiness of our thoughts of knowledge and power and survival. He is waiting for us to come to Him, with open hands, and minds and hearts that have been emptied of every single thing that is not of Him. He asks us to come to Him as children, His children, because this is what we are. But we act like adults, like people who have grown past the time when our Father would hold us to His breast, show us His love in joy and great hope. We think we have grown so much, but we have gone backwards, because we have not drawn closer to Him.

When the times get bad, and they will get very bad, it will be very very difficult to make up that lost ground of finding the place in His love, the firm foundation of fellowship with God through Jesus. Noah, the grandson of Enoch, lived in God's love. When God knew that He would destroy the people from off the face of the earth, He spared Noah, because He knew Noah.

Now is the time to lay aside every weight and sin, everything and anything which hinders our drawing near to God, from coming into His presence, from knowing Him in Spirit and in truth. We are coming to the times that all of the prophets inquired of, and the disciples, and everyone who has looked to heaven for God to return. Yet, He is not coming in peace. He is coming for war. His enemies will be destroyed. Every arrogant and boastful person will be brought low. Every single thing will be shaken, that is, everything that is not based upon the unshakable foundation which is eternal life in Jesus. Every wall will be blown down. What are the walls? Those things which we build to hide behind, from each other, and from God. Everything will be exposed.

God will speak to the people. Will they hear? Will they listen to His call to come to Him as children?

Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

And again:

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as to the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

It seems to be written in scripture differently.

The Lord often speaks to me through scripture. I'm always assured to write them down, but sometimes as you do, you lose them. There was one that meant a lot to me, and for around 5 months I had completely forgotten about it. It was Jeremiah 16:9 - For this is what The Lord God almighty, the God of Israel says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in this place.

Now until a few day's I ago I had completely forgotten about it, of course I remembered vaeguely what it said but I had no idea where in the bible it was. So when it came to mind again just a few nights ago, I sat with the index page of the bible open and I prayed to The Lord asking, if this verse meant anything, and it was in fact from you, and what people had told me about it was false (somebody had told me it had to be coincidence cause nobody knows the time or hour) help me find it again.. I tell you this within 2 minutes I had found it in the midst of Jeremiah, where you know yourselves there are over 50 chapters, I had not read a single book in the old testament as of yet, cause I'm a relatively new Christian and still making my way through the New testament. This has happened to me twice now on scripture I have lost or forgotten that I felt had importance to me, and The Lord has returned it to me within minutes of asking! Praise the Lord :)!

I am troubled within my spirit when I hear or read of someone saying that Jesus Christ told them He was going to return in their life time or before they died. The reason being so many that are passed away now said the same thing? Corrie Ten Boom and I love her dearly and the wonderful testimony of her life said the same thing? So I don't understand UNLESS what Jesus was really telling them is that they would see JESUS as He returned for them, meaning when they died he would be there to welcome them home and I think they misunderstood what he meant?

The great thing for the church and body of Christ is that Christ will be taking it out of the way before any of the great tribulation takes place. Every single born again believer that was saved by grace when they believed upon Jesus Christ for salvation will be going up as part of the bride of Christ. Even those believers that were carnal and only had a capacity to receive the milk of God's word will be going up because of the blood of Christ that justified them when they believed. All those prophecies about the destruction of the church that God has redeemed and delivered from condemnation and wrath will be exposed for what they are and from the source they came from. Jesus Christ will have His glorious church without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blame, to present to Himself.

I see what you mean. This could well be what it in fact means. That I like many others will see the wicked be judged before God, every nation silenced, and given what is due. If I have misinterpreted this verse for my own reason, I will pray about it, to be humbled in the true meaning of it. But I'm sure many would agree that the possibility of The second coming of Jesus Christ, could very well be in as little as the next 20 or 30 years. I suppose we have to be open minded and not assume things. Thank you for your opinion :).

Ed, in mental health forums the concept that you are ONE of the witnesses is called "delusions of grandeur" It is a sign of impending or of psychosis. You should get checked out by a doctor before you go off the deep end.

We cannot know when Jesus will return, and looking at the signs, is something that has been happening since the 1st century. Everyone thinks the time they live in is special, and Jesus is returning now, because now is the worst/best time to come. I was just reading that in 17th century eschatology in Britain, the Baptists thought Jesus would return at the turn of the century. Remember, the point is not WHEN he returns, but "will he find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:8

Get your heart right, and you will be with Jesus no matter what or when it happens.

Are you absolutely positive about your diagnosis?

There will be scoffers in the last days, those who say that people have been expecting the "day" from the beginning, and it is still not here.

Today, our civilization, our society, our complete social structure, is breaking down. Many have placed hope in technology and even social engineering. ( We are seeing the results of that already.) His day might be years away, but I know in my heart that He is close. He is calling people out to become His witnesses, not second hand as so many are, but first hand.

He makes it impossible for these witnesses to testify of Him second hand. If they attempt this, it always fails miserably. In the end, He strips away from them everything but the grace of God's work in our hearts and minds.

Jesus said that everyone who lives and believes in Him will never die. The day to come alive in Him, to live and believe in Him, is at hand. Jesus Himself is at hand. This dying world needs something more than it has seen from the church. It needs to see Jesus in us. It needs this very badly.

Thankyou all so much for your posts!
It is interesting the many opinions.
Im not trying to say this is happening now, or bring gloom and doom.
Nor is this thread saying this is now.
But I cannot help but wonder, when the signs are present, how are we to discuss this?
If we eather are saying this has all been said before, so I put no concern in it, or , we go the other way, saying it is now, be ready!
Jesus gave us the events to look to, telling us that when we see these things, we can know that it is near.
I read scripture a few weeks ago about putting off any unsettled situation with God.
In case one may be caught, to late to do this.
I have always strongly believed that if these times are near, the word of Jesus will be our comfort, caution and guide.
One must consider that satan would bring passivity in this to many, as they have heard it before.
I look to the terrible events that followed hurricain katrina, many ignored the warnings, simply because they had heard them so often before.
Because of this, so many suffered horribly or were lost.
It is this that should be considered, are we becoming passive?
Thus, the unwillingness to discuss.
For a long time I have told myself that all said was a matter of hype and fear.
So how can we as christians discuss this, with the understanding given in Jesus, and wisdom?
Are there events today, that we should pay attention to?
Can we discuss this, soberly?
So that the witness we are called to in Jesus, will be given?
Thankyou for your responces so far, and for those that can be given in Jesus.

God bless.
