Jeremiah 29:8 For thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, decieve you, neither harken to YOUR DREAMS which YE CAUSE TO BE DREAMED

Jeremiah 29:9 For they prophesy FALSELY unto you in MY NAME. I HAVE NOT SENT THEM says the Lord.

Dreams are from man and should not be taken as messages from God. You are not prophets because the prophets are already established in the written word of God. What can you reveal that has not been revealed already?

Be very careful... for the enemy you are warning us about, could very well be the influence behind the dreams you caused to be dreamed.

Please, read the Word of God for knowledge in the truth and for spiritual discernment. Any additional knowledge or vision from MAN should not be accepted as truth.

God has warned us already to stay away from these things, so why do many still practise it?

Dreams are from man and should not be taken as messages from God. You are not prophets because the prophets are already established in the written word of God. What can you reveal that has not been revealed already? You have GROSSLY taken this out of context!
"For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Do not let your prophets who are in your midst and your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams which they dream. God is telling them not to listen to THEIR prophet as opposed to HIS prophets. THEIR prophets are INCLUDED with their diviners and the people are instructed to NOT listen to the dreams of the false prophets. Because...
9'For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them,' declares the LORD. God does not send false prophets. He sends true prophets. But there are many false prophets then and today, that SAY they are prophets of God. Discernment is necessary. Do they lead people to or away from CHrist as Savior? If it is away, they are false. If it is TO Christ, it is a true prophet. We are told that we will know God's prophets by their fruit.

Be very careful... for the enemy you are warning us about, could very well be the influence behind the dreams you caused to be dreamed. God is the GIVER of dreams. He ALLOWS dreams from the enemy so that you can know what the enemy is up to. He ALLOWS dreams from our own soul so that we can better understand our own hearts.
Dreams in full color are from God; in muted, dull or grayish colors, from the soul...because they do have life in them, but the source is not God; those in black and white, devoid of color, are from the enemy...there is no life in him. But God will allow black and white dreams so that you can KNOW what the enemy has planned for your life so that you can use the authority you have in Christ and cancell that demonic assignment over your life.

Please, read the Word of God for knowledge in the truth and for spiritual discernment. Any additional knowledge or vision from MAN should not be accepted as truth. MAN cannot MAKE a vision on his own accord. He can use his imagination, but that comes from the soul of man and not God. God gives visions and dreams for Kingdom purposes. Job 33: Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it. man does not listen
15"In a dream, a vision of the night,
When sound sleep falls on men, when they can't argue or get distracted.
While they slumber in their beds,
16Then He opens the ears of men, speaks to them in a way that they can receive
And seals their instruction, seals it upon their heart and even their mind
17That He may turn man aside from his conduct, so as to cause the person to change his conduct or thinking on a matter
And keep man from pride; to keep man from acting out in pride or self-righteousness
18He keeps back his soul from the pit, And his life from passing over into Sheol. So he doesn't end up going to hell

God has warned us already to stay away from these things, so why do many still practise it?
Because your understanding is in error.
Joel tells us that in the End Times old men will dream dreams and young men will have visions. 'old men' refers to not age, but to spiritual maturity. Dreams are metaphorical and so need to be interpreted by a MATURE Christian; someone who has studied the Bible so as to understand...the dreams IN the Bible and those being dreamed today by Believers; visions are literal as portrayed in the Bible. They typically do not need interpretation and so can be understood by people who are less mature in their knowledge of the Lord and Scripture.

An article about dreams (not written by me):

DREAMS

So, what about dreams? Are we really responsible for what we do in our dreams? Yes, we are. Can we control what we do in our dreams? Yes we can. Can Satan have any kind of influence in our dreams? It appears it is quite possible. Can we support this all Biblically? Yes indeed.

What is a dream? Webster (Webster's Third New International Dictionary) describes a dream in this way, "1a: a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep. . . . having ideas or images in the mind while asleep". So, dreams are thoughts and images occurring during sleep.

In Scripture, dreams are not only called "dreams", but also "visions of the night" (Job 33:15), "thoughts on my bed", "visions of my head" (Daniel 4:5; 7:15), "visions of his head while on his bed" (Daniel 7:1), and "night visions" (Daniel 7:7, 13). Now granted, the above references out of Daniel are in reference to dreams given miraculously by God, but even when the Word speaks of a "normal" type of a dream, it is still called a "night vision" (e.g. Isaiah 29:7-8). In fact, Job 33:15 clearly describes a dream as a "vision of the night" ("In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men,"). So, Scripture defines dreams as "night visions". Where do these night visions come from?

I. From God

This is found several times over in the Word (Genesis 28:10-17; 31:11-13; 37:5-11; 40:1-22; 41:1-32; Numbers 12:6; Judges 7:9-15; Daniel chapters 1, 2, 4, and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:12-22). In Matthew 27:19, Pilate's wife suffered in a dream that appears to have been from God as a warning to Pilate (via his wife).

Does God still give "night visions" (dreams)? Well, God can do as He pleases (Psalm 115:3). If He wants to, He can (and will). Yet, the dreams mentioned in the paragraph above are of a special and peculiar nature (out of the norm). There is a type of dream, not so abnormal, that God definitely still gives to men. Elihu speaks of it in Job 33:14-18,
For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Here, Elihu speaks of the work of God upon men in their sleep (in their night visions). It is a way in which the Lord speaks to men in their dreams in an effort to turn them away from evil. Yet, men are unaware of this work of God upon them ("yet man does not perceive it").

Remember the old saying, "Sleep on it."? What do people mean when they say this? Typically, they mean that if you sleep on some decision or course of action to be taken, you might feel differently about the situation in the morning (after you've slept). There's a reason for this. God instructs men in the night, upon their beds, in their dreams. As He says,
For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. (Job 33:14-16)
Why? "In order to turn man from his deed . . ." (Job 33:17)

Isn't it true, that after a good night's sleep, a person (typically) is more sober and clear headed? Indeed, and this is because of the work of God upon the sons of men while on their beds dreaming. Of course, a wicked man may wake up and discard the instruction God has given him that night. But, nonetheless, God gives it. So, dreams (visions of the night) can be from the Lord, or they can also come...

II. From Satan

Can the realm of darkness have any hand in these visions of the night? Yes, indeed. In Ephesians 6:12 we read,
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Are our dreams excluded from this warfare? No.
In Job 4:13-19, we have an example of a dream in which a demon is involved. Eliphaz the Temanite declares,
In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair on my body stood up. It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes; there was silence; then I heard a voice saying: "Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker? If He puts no trust in His servants, if He charges His angels with error, how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, . . ."
Eliphaz describes a dream in which he saw a demon ("a spirit"). How do we know this was a demon? By his message. His message is extremely deceitful. He says that God "puts no trust in His servants", as if to imply or state that God doesn't trust any of His angels -- which is a lie. God certainly charged SOME of "His angels with error" (verse 18), and rightly so, because they sinned (Revelation 12:4; Jude 6). But, God does put trust in HIS angels, as Hebrews 1:14 exemplifies,
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
God sent Gabriel to announce to Mary the coming of the Messiah through her body (Luke 1:26f; quite an important announcement!). In the future, God will entrust Michael and the host of holy angels to wage a radically important war against the Devil and his angels (Revelation 12:7-8). God most certainly trusts His angels. Yet, this demon says otherwise, this demon who was involved in Eliphaz's dream.
Now Eliphaz was not a man speaking truth. Note what is said of him in Job 42:7,
. . . the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as my servant Job has."
Eliphaz was speaking lies, but Job was speaking the truth. Now someone might argue, "That's why there was a demon in Eliphaz's dream!" Maybe so. But, even Job, who was a righteous man (Job 1:1,8; 2:3), experienced the power of darkness upon his dreams. Note Job's complaint about this in Job 7:13-14,
When I say, "My bed will comfort me, my couch will ease my complaint, then You scare me with dreams and terrify me with visions,"
Here, Job attributes these tormenting dreams to God. In fact, all of his troubles he attributed to being from the hand of God (see Job 6:4; 7:20; 16:11-14, etc.). And, he was right in this (Job 42:7-8). Yet, it is only attributed to being from God because God is the Sovereign Lord who controls ALL things (Psalm 103:19). Job's troubles did come from the Lord (as God recognizes in Job 2:3), yet it was via Satan's hand (Job 1:8-12; 2:3-6).

Therefore, these tormenting dreams were from God, yet via the hand of Satan. Thus, we have here an example of Satan having influence upon the dreams of a righteous man. So, dreams can come from God, and even the enemy of our soul. Where else do our "visions of the night" come from?

III. Our Own Hearts

In Jeremiah 23:16, the Lord says,
Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; they speak a vision of their own heart.
What was he speaking of ("vision of their own heart")? Jeremiah 23:25 explains further,
I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, "I have dreamed, I have dreamed!"
Their dreams were the "deceit of their own heart" (Jeremiah 23:26). These false prophet's dreams were coming from their own deceitful hearts. Note further Isaiah 29:7-8,
The multitude of all the nations who fight against Ariel, even all who fight against her and her fortress, and distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision. It shall even be as when a hungry man dreams, and look - he eats; but he awakes, and his soul is still empty; or as when a thirsty man dreams, and look - he drinks; but he awakes, and indeed he is faint, and his soul still craves: so the multitude of all the nations shall be, who fight against Mount Zion.
As illustrated above, a hungry man or a thirsty man, because he is hungry or thirsty, has it in his heart to dream about food or drink. His dreams come from his desires (from his heart).

In Daniel 4:5, Nebuchadnezzar calls the dream he received from God, "thoughts on my bed". This is simply what a dream is -- thoughts in your mind while you sleep. They may be from God, maybe even from the enemy of your soul, or maybe simply from your own heart.

Being that Jeremiah 17:9 is true, men will have evil dreams. And, just as Jesus said that evil thoughts come from the heart of man (Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21), so do evil dreams come from the heart of man. They are evil thoughts in his sleep. So,

IV. Are We Responsible?

Are we responsible for our dreams? Clearly, Job gives us an example where he had no control over what he dreamed. His dreams tormented him (Job 7:13-15). If Satan or some demon might have the power to have influence upon what we dream, how then could we be responsible for what we dream? Maybe Satan is causing the dream!

The bottom line is this: We are responsible for anything we might do, be it while we are awake, or be it while we are asleep. If we sinfully lust after something or someone in our dream, it is sin, and we are responsible before God. If we carry out an ungodly act in a dream, it is sin, and we are responsible before God.

We cannot blame Satan (or some demon) for any sinful behavior we do in a dream. Even if the Devil did influence us to do some wrong (awake or asleep), we are still responsible before God for our actions (note 1 Chronicles 21 where Satan moved David to number Israel, yet David was still guilty before God).

How do we know that we can control what we do in our dreams and that we are responsible for our actions in our dreams? Because we see this exemplified in holy writ.

In Genesis 20:1-8, we see God come to Abimelech in a dream. Abimelech responds to the Lord quite coherently, and the Lord responds to Abimelech (just as if it was not a dream). Abimelech displays sober thinking and a wise response to the Lord in his dream.

If this was not enough evidence, 1 Kings chapter three should solidify the verdict.
At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, "Ask! What shall I give you?" And Solomon said: "You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant King instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. (1 Kings 3:5-10)
The speech pleased the Lord! The speech Solomon made IN HIS DREAM! Solomon is no passive puppet here. Solomon responds in a good way, as opposed to a sinful or self-centered way, and God is pleased. Note, God commends Solomon for responding wisely in his dream.
Then God said to him: "Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days." Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. (1 Kings 3:11-15).
Tremendous blessing came upon Solomon, because he acted wisely IN HIS DREAM. Yes indeed, we are responsible for what we do in our dreams, be it good or bad.

If this is so, then those of us who have sinned grievously in our dreams have all the more reason to fear and trembling before a holy God (which is good, Isaiah 57:15; 66:2; Philippians 2:12; 1 Peter 1:17).

But why is this? Why would we do something in a dream we would never dare do while awake? In a dream, we can be placed in a situation of serious compromise and temptation, that, in normal living, we would never allow ourselves to be in. Note Psalm 11:5,
The Lord tests the righteous. (see also Psalm 17:3)
Do you think it is possible that God might even test us in our dreams? Yes indeed. He did so with Solomon (1 Kings 3:5-15), and Solomon passed the test with flying colors. For those of us who have not done so well, Hebrews 4:15-16 should be ever on our hearts and minds (be it awake or asleep).
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
This all places an interesting light on the prayer of Matthew 6:13, "do not lead us into temptation".

So then, how do we fight off and stay away from sin, and possibly even find that "throne of grace" in the midst of our dreams? By zealously seeking, knowing and taking heed to the Word of God.
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)
This does not only have to do with our waking hours, but also the hours of the night, as Proverbs promises,
My son, let them not depart from your eyes - keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. (Proverbs 3:21-24)
And,
My son, keep your father's command, and do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind them continually upon your heart; tie them around your neck. When you roam, they will lead you; when you sleep, they will keep you. (Proverbs 6:20-22).
The more Biblically minded we are, the more we love the Word and have Scripture running through our hearts and minds, then the more righteous, godly, and holy we will live, awake or asleep.

One last Scripture to consider is found in Ecclesiastes 5:7,
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But fear God.
People can get carried away with, or be preoccupied with, dreams and attempting to understand them. The writer of Ecclesiastes exhorts otherwise. Don't get caught up in dreams. Get caught up in fearing God, and loving Him, and your sleep will be sweet (Proverbs 3:24).

Yes Maggie, I agree that the prophets and other men of God had dreams that were inspired from God and these dreams were recorded in the holy bible. We know that these ones were from God, for God has authenticated it, and identified those prophets that were his.

I also acknowledge that our dreams can be intervened by God for he goes straight into the soul and can convict, guide or re-assure us in any way he likes...and yes, he does test us in our dreams. We also have dreams that dont make sense or we have a nightmare because we are uncomfortable in our sleep (eg pins and needles) A nightmare normally wakes us up to change position to get the blood flowing. It doesn't necessarily have to be demonic.

In the event when we get jolted awake suddenly from dreaming that we are falling or something startles us, happens because our heart rate slows down too fast and its that fright that gives the heart a jolt to prevent it from stopping..

but to say, this is what heaven looks like, or this is what goes on in hell, with people being tortured for certain sins in a certain way is not substantiated because it is not from scripture. God gave us the information he gave us and the rest he left out for a purpose... Who are these people anyway to say this is the way it goes? Do we take it as gospel do we? And if some turn to God because of this fear, how do we know that they are worshipping in spirit and truth? Many false prophets and decievers have gone out there, and many more will come. We were warned.

Myself and others have preached that we will not take the mark and are prepared to die and go all the way for God to the end. Others have rebuked us saying that God is a loving God and would not expect that of his children and allow us to suffer...then we have our God depicted by someones dream that he is going to allow the most unimaginable acts ever on those that never sought salvation and punish them forever and ever and ever...Come on, thats not the God we know. Thats not just to punish someone forever, whats that going to prove. Thats a demonic twisted point of view. Our God would never allow that ungodly act of torture. You people do not understand hell. Hell and death will be thrown into the lake of fire...they will just be done away with...gone...dead..never to exist again, not tortured by Satan & his demons, because they are destroyed as well. This is a scare tactic...join our religion or church because this is whats going to happen to you if you dont.....No I dont buy it.

Also would any of us be happy knowing that our loves ones who were not 'saved' are being put through this torture? We will still have a memory when we are resurrected into spirit. We will know everything that is going on. I have family, friends & relatives that are non believers, but that doesn't mean that I dont love them. I love them with everything that I have, with the same love that God put in me to love him first and them also, even if they cant see the truth. Love will never die...It lives on forever...Our God would not do that to them and especially to us, his children, it would cause sorrow to his saints and sorrow wont exist. It is hard enough to handle that they will be left out of the kingdom become non existent, let alone be demonically tortured. Thats sadism. God is fair and God is just. That is not our God that has given people this vision, but if you personally want to believe it, and it puts the fear of God into you, go ahead, but dont teach it as fact, and dont use it as a scare tactic to others. It is wrong, you are endorsing man's interpretation here and if the Lord wants us to serve him, he will draw us to him by truth only.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

MaggieMye is right,God was talking of false prophets, not to listen to them, and the reason God told them not to hearken unto their dreams is because God was not going to give them dreams Himself,so they would not be accurate.

God does give people dreams to instruct them, but if people do hearken to false prophets, then their dreams will not be of God and inaccurate, for they choose not the right path.

1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters(Daniel 7:1).

Daniel the prophet received a dream and visions to show him of future events concerning the world powers from Babylon to the little horn, the antichrist.

28And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit(Joel 2:28-29).

16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy(Acts 2:16-18).

God uses dreams today to instruct people and show them things.

With all due respect you need much more study. What you are saying is not true. You are being a false teacher.

Many false prophets and deceivers have gone out there, and many more will come. We were warned. There is no false prophets if there are no True prophets, because then all prophets are just 'prophets'. There is a differentiation for a PURPOSE.

...then we have our God depicted by someone's You mean like John? dream that he is going to allow the most unimaginable acts ever on those that never sought salvation and punish them forever and ever and ever...Come on, thats not the God we know.YES IT IS! If you do not understand that He is a RIGHTEOUS GOD and has set down consequences for that do not choose Him, then you do NOT know the Creator God, the Lord Jesus Christ. You know OF Him, but do not KNOW His character. Thats not just to punish someone forever, whats that going to prove. But it is JUST and righteous to allow those that disobey to have the REWARD of eternity in heaven. If that were the case, then NOT ONE Believer would have to be obedient...ever. Obedience is blessed, disobedience brings a curse. Thats a demonic twisted point of view. No, that is an accurate and truthful, BIBLICAL point of view. Read your Bible. Our God would never allow that ungodly act of torture. Read the OT. He ALLOWED acts of torture, murder, rape, and worse to ALL who disobey Him. ONLY when Israel OBEYED was there ever peace in Israel You people do not understand hell. You need to study your Bible more. Here are the verses that pertain to the lake of fire. Read and see that the lake of fire is NOT THROWN anywhere. Rather things are thrown INTO the LAKE.
Revelation 19:20
[ Doom of the Beast and False Prophet ] And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
Revelation 20:10
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Revelation 20:14
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire This is the second death, the lake of fire. It is death and Hades, a realm or state of the dead that are thrown INTO the lake
Revelation 20:15
And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8
" But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Scripture is clear. The ignorant and unbelieving WILL be tortured and end up forever burning in the lake of fire.

Also would any of us be happy knowing that our loves ones who were not 'saved' are being put through this torture? We will still have a memory when we are resurrected into spirit. Scripture tells us that we will remember each other when we are in heaven. It also says that those that are in hell will remember those of us who are not there because we will be in heaven. It says that those in heaven will have no recall of those not saved. Why? Because that would cause sadness and there is no sadness in heaven. We will know everything that is going on. No, we won't. Our eyes will be on the Lord and Him only. We will not mourn those lost...we won't even have time because we will be continually rejoicing over Him..we be as the angels continually praising and worshipping Him.
See above It is hard enough to handle that they will be left out of the kingdom become non existent, let alone be demonically tortured. Thats sadism. No, that is His righteous consequences...laid down in scripture. The 'rules' of life and eternity are set down by God in His Word. People perish/suffer/die for lack of knowledge (Hos 4:6). He tells us that FIVE TIMES in the OT alone! Think there might be a REASON??? It is so that we CHOOSE HIM!! God is fair and God is just. Yes, He is. And it would not be JUST of Him to allow all that do not follow His commands and mandate to enter heaven. That is not our God that has given people this vision, but if you personally want to believe it, and it puts the fear of God into you, go ahead, but dont teach it as fact, I will teach it because it IS FACT and you need to spend time in study and prayer, seeking the spirit of revelation and knowledge of Him (Eph 1:17) and dont use it as a scare tactic to others. It is wrong, you are endorsing man's interpretation here and if the Lord wants us to serve him, he will draw us to him by truth only. Please study. Your understanding is off-base and dangerous. It negates the character of God. Understand that ANY parent that sets down consequences for disobedience and then does not carry through is NOT a loving parent: Proverbs 13:1
[ Contrast the Upright and the Wicked ] A wise son accepts his father's discipline,But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke
Proverbs 19:18
Discipline your son while there is hope,And do not desire his death.
And others about discipline...it is always done out of love. And GOD, being GOD loves Himself and will remain True to His word. He is a faithful God. BibleGateway.com - KeywordSearch: discipline

Deuteronomy 8:5
" Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. He does not waiver
Proverbs 13:24
"He who withholds his rod hates his son,But he who loves him disciplines him diligently. Those that do not choose God WILL be punished. WHY would God want people in His kingdom that do not want Him??

Sorry have to beg to differ. Check out the dream Peter has in acts regarding the foods being tainted and then the gentile knocking at the door.

Peter's dream has nothing to do with unbelievers being thrown in the lake of fire, nor with Christ's knocking on the door. So your post makes no sense.

It has everything to do with dreams being scriptural. He dreamed of foods layed out and those foods were representative of people.

No, there were not. That dream was specifically about the eating of unclean foods...forbidden foods of the OT. Reread it again:
ACTS 10:13 A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!"

14But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean." 15Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."
Because of the cross and the shed Blood, ALL food was now permitted to be eaten. There is no reference to PEOPLE in this verse; no scripture in which food represents people; and no people being eaten.

Dreams are from or allowed by God for the purpose of imparting His heart and will to us. He favor no one over anyone else so that means He STILL gives and allows dreams today.

Why not post a dream of yours? Give the dream a title; state if it is in full color, muted/grayish colors or B & W. Tell it like you would a story without interjecting your 'awake' thoughts into it.
Let's see what is being revealed to you.

You stop too soon. Continue reading:
13A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!"

14But Peter said, "By no means, (A)Lord, for (B)I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean."

15Again a voice came to him a second time, "(C)What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."

16This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.

17Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what (D)the vision which he had seen might be, behold, (E)the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate;

18and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there.

19While Peter was reflecting on (F)the vision, (G)the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you.

20"But get up, go downstairs and (H)accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself."

21Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?"

22They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and (I)God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, (J)was divinely directed by a (K)holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear (L)a message from you."

23So he invited them in and gave them lodging.

The food represents the gentiles at the door.

I just did. The juxtaposition of the stories and mentioning of the revelation is proof of the dream being a reference to the men coming to Peter.

It's about the food and what was considered unclean people to Peter a Jew. Please you two pay attention to what the devil is doing. Having you two take this off topic. This is a serious problem and one of our family needs help.

God used the unclean animals that He has cleansed to show Peter that He has cleansed the Gentiles to be able to receive salvation.

34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him(Acts 10:34-35).

This is the interpretation that Peter came to understand after the vision of the animals.

Acts chapter 10 is the story of a Gentile who loved God and gave alms, and God sent Peter to him, which Peter did not understand yet that salvation is also for the Gentiles, and God used the unclean animals that He cleansed to show Peter that He has cleansed the Gentiles to be able to receive salvation,so the vision of the animals is to show to Peter that God has cleansed the Gentiles, which after the vision Peter went to the Gentiles house and showed him the truth and he received the Holy Ghost and was baptized.

If someone points out that someone has the wrong interpretation considering dreams, and then believes that the vision of foods was only about foods, and not to show that the Gentiles are cleansed, then they believed a misinterpretation them self.

That is why we cannot belittle a person for having a wrong interpretation, for whatever measure you mete will come back to you,and we have had wrong interpretations before we learned the truth of it.
