It is Biblical to believe that not only Jesus is the son of God but that he is the God of the Universe. He is called God in the Bible. He is with God in the beggining in First John. And the Word (Jesus) was God in the beggining.

yes yes.....(this is my opinion with truthful study)Even the bible says He is the divine being.....Christ in many ways claims himself in a divisible manner such as the term Son of man and Son of God. What does it mean....well Son of man is the human perspective or the human likeness of Jesus and the Son of God is the God perspective that we cannot fully grasp in our little minds where He is God the divine of Jesus.

Son of man- Human side of Jesus

Son of God- the God side of Jesus

when He speaks of the Son of man, He is explaining what things are limited for Him to do as a human and put Him in the lowest place or rank of the world such as being weak, poor, homeless, etc.

When Speaking of the Son of God nothing is impossible, anything is achievable to receive a reward but not always given. Many are called but few are chosen and those who were chosen since the beginning of time are those who will shine at the end friend.

(again my opinion + study)

Shalom

2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Revelation 1:8 - “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Bible verses that show Jesus is Divine
by Matt Slick

Following are verses used to show that Jesus is God in flesh. The scriptures used here are from the New American Standard Bible.

John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 5:18 - "For this cause therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God."

John 8:24 - "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."
Note: In the Greek, "He" is not there.

John 8:58 - "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"

Exodus 3:14 - "And God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM'; and He said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"

John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one." 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."

John 20:28 - "Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

Col. 2:9 - "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."

Phil. 2:5-8 - "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Heb. 1:8 - "But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom."

Quoted from Psalm 45:6, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom."

Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Sound like a straight forward command. Call him Immanuel, not he will be Immanuel. The baby was not given this name though.
Matthew 1:25 “but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a son; and he called His name Jesus.”
Luke 1:30-31 “The angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.”

He was actually called Jesus. The scribe of Luke states the angel to name him Jesus while the angel in Matthew states to name him Immanuel. You have a contradiction.

It is clear Matthew 1:23 was added in an attempt by a scribe to tie the birth back to the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14. I would believe the Luke version.

Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Many Christians quote Isaiah 9:6 not only in their efforts to show the divinity of Jesus but also that he is part of a triune godhead. Let us examine , whether Isaiah 9:6 is a prophecy for Jesus or Hezekiah

“..the government shall be upon his shoulder…”

Jesus was never a king on Earth, however Hezekiah was in fact twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years.

“…his name shall be called…Mighty God”

Jesus was never called “Mighty God” while Hezekiah in facts means “Tetragrammaton Mighty God”
Now many Christians may claim that this is not conclusive proof to associate the prophecy of Isaiah with Hezekiah. Fine, I will agree. But if you still believe this prophecy shows Jesus to be a God, then the onus is on you to show me :

What a independant researcher has to say. There are many more.

“We have already noted that every teaching of Jesus was already in the literature of the day….. Paul, the founder of Christianity, the writer of half the NT, almost never quotes Jesus in his letters and writings." (Professor Smith in his “The World Religions”, p 330)

"True Christianity, which will last forever, comes from the gospel words of Christ not from the epistles of Paul. The writings of Paul have been a danger and a hidden rock, the causes of the principal defects of Christian theology." (Ernest Renan, Saint Paul)

"There is not one word of Pauline Christianity in the characteristic utterances of Jesus.... There has really never been a more monstrous imposition perpetrated than the imposition of Paul's soul upon the soul of Jesus.... It is now easy to understand how the Christianity of Jesus... was suppressed by the police and the Church, while Paulinism overran the whole western civilized world, which was at that time the Roman Empire, and was adopted by it as its official faith. (Androcles and the Lion, George Bernard Shaw)

Hi C

Most Christians like Paul because he made getting to heaven so much easier. Jesus was setting an example of what needs to be done to the people around him such as following the laws of the Torah but Paul was saying forget all that just believe in Jesus as God.

Paul says:
Rom.10:4
For Christ is the end of the law, that every one who has faith may be justified.

Jesus says:
Matt.5:17 Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.

Jesus says:
Matt.7:13 Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few

Jesus is stating that to get to paradise is difficult. Now look at what effort you are making to get to heaven. Is it difficult as Jesus pbuh stated. Is going to church once a week and doing what you want as long as you do not break any human laws difficult ? Are you missing something ? It is suppose to be difficult. Are you going through the narrow gate with the few or are you following the rest of the crowd through the wide gate.

Great line up PBUH the greek word for fulfill is used several times within the new testament. It exclusively is used to mean "come to an end" That you for quoting he has come to end the law. The few that find it are those that come to know Christ as the way, the truth, and the life and none shall enter the kingdom except through His death and ressurection. I would be interested to see how many of your posts come from Islamic review of scripture. Paul's teachings are verified as He was confirmed and accepted by the Apostles who walked with Christ. You quote Matthew and Luke with validity however Matthew was an apostle who affirmed Paul's testimony and Luke was Paul's own pupil. Romans holds as true now as it did then. By faith alone are you saved.

friend you got it totally wrong......when he mean law he means us treating the law as our salvation not to forget the law.........Yes i believe Paul's letters were difficult to read and was using hard teachings. Law was the way people back then thought they could be saved and thought that if they follow then they go to heaven....well there is more to that than law, You need a relationship with Christ and not just do it for law but for love. If i am wrong then let other Christians comment, let the Lord tell me other wise. but if you truly look for the true study and wisdom of what he was saying then you would understand friend.

Yes, you are right. Jesus is God (entirely of the Being of God). It is indeed strange that some Christians do not hold that view, although it is quite apparent that non-Christians, such as our Muslim friend in this thread, believe otherwise.

There are many important examples of Scripture which show us that Jesus is God, and interestingly enough, many of these are found in the non-Pauline parts of the New Testament. Examples:

"but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe" (Heb 1:2)

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End" (Rev 22:13)

"For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God" (John 5:18)

"Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” " (John 20:28)

"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son" (John 5:21-2)

"But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world" (John 8:23)

"When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” " (Mark 2:5-7)

"Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped" (Rev 5:13-4)

"Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy" (Luke 24:52)

These are just a few examples, but they already underline the central biblical fact that Jesus is God...

It is Biblical to believe that not only Jesus is the son of God but that he is the God of the Universe. He is called God in the Bible. He is with God in the beggining in First John. And the Word (Jesus) was God in the beggining.
Yes, Jonathan. Jesus is God.

jonathan : let me ask you a question or two.

are you in charge of your word , or is your word in charge of you?
thats right you are in charge of your word.
and so is GOD, he is in charge of his word.
he creates allthings with his word, his word can not go on its own. everithing is done by the word( jesus)
his name is jesus when the word became flesh, GOD spoke to the womb with his word and it coceived.
remember, all thing were made by the word .john 1:3. the flesh was created by the word, colossians1:15.
the flesh is the IMAGE of GOD, now we can see GODS image. GOD dwelled inside of him, he speaks , and d
the good works through him. he is the temple of GOD , GODS temple is not made of bricks and stone.
this man jesus is now sitting next to GOD, and NOW ,GOD gave him authority not when he was on earth.
his reward is everlasting life.
and all authority is now his , he does not have to ask his father anymore.
in revelation ch. 19:13 he is called the WORD OF GOD. not GOD reed also rev.ch. 3:12 . he calls his father
my GOD., so jesus is not GOD but the word of GOD thisis knowledge. reed luke ch10;22 ----no man knows the
son?????? onlyhim who the son will reveal it to. so the majority will not know him. period.
they worship a jesus that they dont know, why?? because the heart is not in it to spend time on him,
to seek . they dont seek to difficult,
cant be bothered. just go to church is easyer its fun, something to do
meet people , sing songs or play some cool songs , that makes the crowd come back for more.
let me give you an example:, you have been to school for five or ten maybe 30 yrs but you are not ,
graduating not going anywhere just going round and round in circles. but you dont mind , its nice at school
meeting student friends. i say that you are not serious with your studys. so are the church goers .
just go to church to get, get get, blessings and all sorts .never thingking of giving to GOD by sacrevising,
dont touch the unclean follow jesus comandments. the spirit of get and me first is there.

hope this will clear up a few things for you. GOD bless. ----wakeup.
