I have been contemplating the crucifixion of Jesus and we all know that he died in order to save us, and I have been thinking more and more about this and I am of the mind that Jesus knew he was going to be crucified and because the Jewish religion demanded sacrifices and the Roman religion demanded sacrifices, Jesus used the crucifixion as His way of saying "let me be the last sacrifice so that you need not do this to appease God anymore' (I made that quote up by the way just to illustrate where my thinking is). And so by considering Jesus to be the last sacrifice, all we need to do is accept Him and through Him we accept God and God accepts us. Well, that's my understanding of it.

It has always been a rather vague concept to me of dying for our sins, but now I think I am at an understanding of it. As for Jesus Himself, I believe He is the form God chose to send to us so that we could relate to Him because God Himself is so vastly different from our human perceptions. And so that's why we can only be saved through Christ, because He is of a form our minds can comprehend and accept. He makes God more attainable and knowable.

Forgive me, I am rather new to such in-depth biblical studies, but I am trying to learn and contemplate all that I'm learning. And I am interested in other's opinions and perceptions. But please keep in mind that I do not respond to those professing "truth". The bible is open to personal interpretation and understanding, and I believe that no man can speak for God or with His authority.
