The Millennium (Part One) - the thousand years and the Binding of Satan

An exposition of Revelation Chapter 20

2009-03-20

In Christian eschatology the period referred to as the Millennium constitutes the reign of the risen and exalted Messiah-King. There is, however, a divergence of views concerning where and when this reign commences. We will endeavour to prove from Scripture that the thousand years referred to in Revelation chapter 20 is a figurative representation of the present rule and reign of Christ from his heavenly throne and that Satan is bound during this period so that people from every nation, tribe and language may be set free from the power of Satan to worship the only true God through the preaching of the gospel. In fulfilment of prophecy (Daniel 7:13-14 and Isaiah 9:6-7), all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus (Matt 28:18) in spite of the fact that he allows rebellion against the kingdom of God to continue for a time. But the rebellion is only allowed to continue during the day of salvation while God extends his grace and mercy to sinners to repent and to be reconciled to him through faith in Jesus' atoning sacrifice. This is confirmed by the Apostle Peter:
First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this ‘coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:3-9).
The proclamation of the gospel is that the victory over sin and death has been won through the death and resurrection of the Messiah who is now enthroned at the right hand of God as King of kings - "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!'" (Is.52; 7). The good news is that the Kingdom of God has come....

...While many people refuse to acknowledge Jesus as King the Scriptures reveal that it is deliberately hidden from those who are wise in their own eyes.
As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you" (Luke 19:41-44 see also Mt. 11:25, Lk. 10:21).
Many of the Jewish teachers overlooked the prophecy of Daniel (ch. 2) where it was revealed that the Kingdom of God would not immediately overthrow the kingdoms of the gentiles. They were expecting the kingdom of God to come with the forceful overthrow of the Gentile oppressors, but the rule of Jesus Christ is first established in the hearts of the humble who repent of their sins.
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,' or ‘There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20-21).
The unbelief of those who do not recognise that the kingdom of God has come does not negate the fact that God has installed his anointed one, Jesus, as Lord over all. God is calling all men to submit to his authority that he has established through his Messiah and everyone who does not submit to Him will eventually be put to shame.
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. ...The LORD has set his anointed King on His holy hill of Zion (Psalm 2:1-2;6).

The Millennium (Part two) - the First Resurrection and the Second Death

Peter Cohen

2009-06-16

An exposition of Revelation chapter 20

"I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years" (Revelation 20:4-6 see also 21:8).
This article deals quite literally with matters of life and death - not merely physical life and death but spiritual life and spiritual death. One of the writers of the Proverbs wrote: There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:20 and 16:25). Most people are heading blindly and recklessly down the path that leads to the second death due to their refusal to hear the word of God that brings life. According to statistics over 60 million people die every year, which translates to about 1.92 people every second. Every person who has ever lived will one day be raised from the dead. However, only those who have had a part in the first resurrection, through faith in Jesus Christ who is the Resurrection and the Life, will not be hurt by the second death. The rest will be raised to face eternal condemnation in the lake of fire, which is the second death, having forfeited the opportunity to receive eternal life!

In part one of this exposition of Revelation chapter 20 we endeavoured to show from the Scriptures that Jesus bound Satan through his death and atoning sacrifice on the cross so that all who believe the good news may be set free from the power of Satan to enter the kingdom of God. We also argued that the period referred to as a thousand years is symbolic of the present reign of Christ who is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, having been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matt. 28 cf. Psalm 110). This period ends with the appearing of Christ (the Parousia) from the heavenly realm when he will finally destroy all rebellion and create a new heaven and a new earth (2 Peter 3:13).

We now turn to the subject of the first resurrection (which takes place at the beginning of the thousand year period) and the second death (which takes place after the thousand year period). Those who have a part in the first resurrection reign with Jesus for the symbolic period of a thousand years. But before we expound upon the first resurrection and the second death, we must determine who were those seated upon thrones who were given authority to judge. These issues are related as will hopefully become evident by what follows...

...Those who contend that the thousand years is a future literal period must of necessity also conclude that the first resurrection will be a resurrection of the righteous to their immortal bodies and that the second resurrection will also be a bodily resurrection of the unrighteous a thousand years later - at which time the wicked will be judged and eternally condemned. This implies that immortals will be living alongside mortals who have not participated in the first resurrection. However, the logical conclusion of this would be that none of those mortals living in the millennial period will escape the second death since they did not have a part in the first resurrection.

A more literal translation of Revelation 20:4, which the NIV renders, "They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years," differs slightly, but rather significantly, from the NIV translation. Rather than "they came to life," it says simply that "they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." In other words when they died they continued to live - and this because they had already participated in the first resurrection by receiving eternal life through the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. This agrees with what Jesus taught:
"He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die (John 11:25-26).
By partaking in the first resurrection now by faith we are assured that we will never die. Even though our mortal bodies will indeed die we shall continue to live in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the glorious victory of the kingdom of God!

DISPENSATION IS A LIE

Jesus answered and said unto them, "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God" Matthew 22:29

What is indisputably, absolutely, and uncompromisingly essential to the Christian religion is its doctrine of salvation...If Dispensationalist has actually departed from the only way of salvation which the Christian religion teaches, then we must say it has departed from Christianity. No matter how many other important truths it proclaims it cannot be called Christain if it empties Christianity of its essenial message. We define a cult as a religion which claims to be Christian while emptying of that which is essential to it. If Dispensationalist does this, then Dispensationalist is a cult and not a branch of the Christian church. It is a serious as that. It is impossible to exaggerate the gravity of the situation.

John 3:3,5; " He said to Pilate, My kingdom is not of this world. When Jesus perceived that they would come to take him by force to make him king, he departed. his offer of the kingdom is the same he made to Nicodemus at the start of his ministry. "Ye must be born again."

John 3:3; "Jesus answered and said unto him. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

The beginning of Christianity consists in this, that we know ourselves not only to be corrupt in part, but to be wholly dead in sin: so that our nature has need to be created a new, with regard to its qualities, which can be done by no other power, but by the divine and heavenly, by which we were first created.

That is, "go in", or "enter", as he expounds himself in John 3:5; "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." This is showing us how to be citizens and have anything to do with the city of God. This is the kingdom that he preached.
Matthew 4:20; And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Paul preached in Col. 1:13; "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son."

Some say that the Jews refused this so Jesus had to postpone his kingdom, They try to fit Old Testament Scriptures about the kingdom into the thousand-year reign, but Jesus' kingdom in the New Testament is everlasting.

Jesus told Caiaphas that he would see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven. (Matthew 26:64) he was saying in symbolic language, "You will see my power manifested." It was seen in the earthquake at Golgotha, darkness during the crucifixion, the splitting of the veil in the temple when He died, and the utter destruction of Jerusalem. The sun set on their kingdom, and it went down in blood as the old system was wiped out.

Christians who escaped from the destruction must have felt that Jesus had truly "come down" in judgment, established his New Covenant, and proved his royal reign. (Psalms 18:9) This fulfilled the prophecy, "There be some standing here which shall see the Son of man coming in His kingdom." (Matthew 16:28)

Jesus said, "This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Matthew 24:34; If they were not fulfilled for those who look for them with preconceived ideas, there must be a different interpretation of the prophecies. Jesus predicted a time would elapse before his Second Coming for the Jews would be scattered in all nations and Jerusalem would be trodden down until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The kingdom of heaven was like a man traveling to a far country, and after a long time the Lord would return and reckon with his servants. Mathew 25:14-30. "Ye know not when the Master cometh." There will be wars and rumors of wars, but the end is not yet." Mark 13:7 says no special signs of warning will be given, only he will come suddenly.

Many denominations have never accepted this prophecy teaching. Their members know nothing about the Rapture of the church, two Second Comings or the millennium, this "other" gospel. But the ones who do teach it are extremely vocal.

The Apostle Paul says, "Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8,9. Then in Acts 20:27, Paul said, I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God." Pauls teaching of the "whole counsel of God' did not include two separate coming, and earthy reign for a thousand years or a rebuilt temple with animal sacrifices. (Read Hebrews 8,9,10 especially v v's 12,13,14, of chapter 10.

"But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made a footstool. For by one offering, he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified."

It should not take a theologian to figure out that the church has been sold "another gospel" by teachers who support doctrines that Jesus warned against. Paul's curse is upon it. If the Lord has declared the full truth and things that are to come in the Bible, then all teaching and doctrines that are different from this is heresy, every one teaching it is a false prophet..though perhaps unknowingly. Then postponed earthy kingdom also must be classed with the false theories and speculations of men.

Many follow Scofield only because that was their early training and is the source of their financial support. They have followed in the error of the rapturist not realizing that they are in error, but longing to serve the Lord. So God brings them to a place of usefulness. He does not honor the error, but the Lord has given freedom and they must find the truth. Those that rise up against God in the vanity of their own minds and false doctrine and exalt their imagination above the Word of God, he will laugh to scorn. Now is coming the shaking; now is coming the loosing when the bands of deception are being loosed.

Many leaders are seeing it, for it is happening now. Those that are in error would like to have the place of accepted and unchallenged teachers. They shall not have it. The Sword of the Lord is in this battle for truth, and it cannot be sheathed by man.

God put the ministry gifts in the church: apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, gifts of healing, helps, governments, and diversities of tongues. (I Co. 12:28) Scofield took it upon himself to remove them. I Co. 14:1,2; "Tongues and the sign gifts are to cease said Scofield (SRB 1917, 1967)Thus he takes the spiritual equipment that the Holy Spirit provided for Christians to carry on his work and leaves them sitting waiting for the train to snatch them out of the mess this world is in by a secret rapture. They forget that Jesus is to sit at the right hand of the Father until all emenies are put under his feet.

2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

For those studying Israel, The only thing keeping her from building the temple and restoring sacrificial rights and the priesthood is the place to the put temple (the dome of the rock stands on what is believed to be the holy of holies) yet they have all things needed, the known levite, the preistly garments, the utencils which belong in the temple, even the cattle which were to be sacrificed.

To those of us who believe in a future restoration of Israel spoken of by the prophets and paul, this is awsome! We see Gods promises and prophetic things coming true. which has not been seen in almost 2000 years.

To those who do not believe it. When you see The temple rebuilt...

Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The last enemy to be put under His feet is death. When does that happen?

After the second resurrection. Which comes 1000 years after the first resurrection.

The thousand year reign of Jesus Christ in this world is not a dispensation. Just because some say it is does not make it so. It is a vital part of His ministry, and a very important time for us. Fortunately, just because one denies this time of glory for Jesus and His name, does not mean that they must miss it.

This posting missed the Biblical evidence. Why?
1. You quote 2Tess 2
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders
, and Rev. 13
3 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.[70 AD - MORIAH]
So actually you agree satan will come with wonders and sign. What for wonders and sign? The fall of Jerusalem?

Jesus said in Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

So, in this context we know that satan would be do signs and wonders? Why??? Because he wanted to pretend that he is the messiah... who we could recognise by signs and wonders..

for an example see Is 35 he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing:

Back to Rev 13:13.. what for miracles was happen, in 70 AD? Nothing.. no miracles. No deceiving for the Christians. Totally out of the context..

but what is John pointed at? Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

What for sign is this? Well I think we have to remeber here at Elia,
1King 18:38 -39 Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and they said, "The LORD, He is the God! The LORD, He is the God!
"

Or 2King 1:10-12 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, "If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume thee and thy fifty." And there came down fire from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, "O man of God, thus hath the king said, ‘Come down quickly.’" And Elijah answered and said unto them, "If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume thee and thy fifty." And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty
.

It was a sign, that God was with Eliah.. comparing Lc 9:54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, wilt Thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did?"

But that wasn't happen in 70 AD.

yes, it is written.

He is King now.
He is ruling now.
the period termed a thousand years is now.

but you have made a religion based on misunderstanding a few words and phrases, and you are either too lazy, or too worried about having to be wrong to look into it.

your religion makes Jesus's work the work of some ANTICHRIST.

It was a sign, that God was with Eliah.. comparing Lc 9:54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, wilt Thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did?"

But that wasn't happen in 70 AD.
you missed the entire point.

THE HEAD THAT RECEIVED THE DEADLY WOUND THAT WAS HEALED, IS MOUNT MORIAH WHICH RECEIVED A DEADLY WOUND IN 70AD BUT IS BEING RESURRECTED AS WE SEE TODAY.

yes, it is written.

I find your characterization of my words offensive.

I am attributing nothing of Jesus to the antichrist.

Jesus will rule and reign from Jerusalem, for 1000 years. It is written in the bible.

Nothing more to say to you, no future in talking to you.

i'll address this once more.

The Temple Mount (Hebrew: הַר הַבַּיִת‎, Har haBáyith), also known in the Bible as Mount Moriah (some also identify it with the biblical Mount Zion) and by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary (Bait-ul-Muqaddas) (Arabic: الحرم القدسي الشريف‎, al-haram al-qudsī ash-sharīf), is a religious site in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Daniel 9
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The goal of the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement is the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in our lifetime in accordance with the Word of G-d and all the Hebrew prophets and the liberation of the Temple Mount from Arab (Islamic) occupation so that it may be consecrated to the Name of G-d.

Recently the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement discovered illegal digging by the Arabs on the Holy Temple Mount in Jerusalem on the exact location of the ancient Holy Temple itself. These criminal activities were done as a result of evil intentions to eliminate the very valuable remains of both Temples in order to deny the existence of the ancient Holy Temple on the Temple Mount. more ...

It is not an accident that it was found close to the time when Israel celebrated her 62nd anniversary. more ...

The Temple Mount Faithful: Working to Build the Third Temple in Jerusalem

Members of Reestablished Sanhedrin Ascend Temple Mount
16:52 Dec 09, '04 / 26 Kislev 5765

In a dramatic but unpublicized move, members of the newly established Sanhedrin ascended the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site, this past Monday.
Close to 50 recently ordained s'muchim, members of the Sanhedrin, lined up at the foot of the Temple Mount Monday morning. [The word s'muchim comes from the same root as s'michah, , rabbinic ordination.] The men, many ascending the Temple Mount for the first time, had immersed in mikvaot (ritual baths) that morning, and planned to ascend as a group. Despite prior approval from the Israeli police who oversee entry to the Mount, the officers barred the group from entering the Mount all together, and allowed them to visit only in groups of ten.

Members of the Sanhedrin wait as police inform them of the conditions of their entry to Har HaBayit (Photos: Natan Gesher)

Given the newly-mandated restrictive conditions, many of the s'muchim refused to ascend at all, especially as a group of over 100 non-Jewish tourists filed past the waiting rabbis and up towards the holy site. "It is unconscionable that on the eve of Chanukah, which celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple, we should once again be barred from worshipping - by our own people," Rabbi Chaim Richman of Jerusalem's Temple Institute told IsraelNN's Ezra HaLevi.

Rabbis on the ramp leading up to the Temple Mount

The Sanhedrin, a religious-legal assembly of 71 sages that convened during the Holy Temple period and for several centuries afterwards, was the highest Jewish judicial tribunal in the Land of Israel. The great court used to convene in one of the Temple's chambers in Jerusalem.
This past October, the Sanhedrin was reestablished for the first time in 1,600 years, at the site of its last meeting in Tiberias.
"There is a special mitzvah [commandment], not connected to time, but tied to our presence in Israel, to establish a Sanhedrin," Rabbi Meir HaLevi, one of the 71 members of the new Sanhedrin, told Israel National Radio's Weekend Edition. "The Rambam [12th-century Torah scholar Maimonides] describes the process exactly in the Mishna Torah [his seminal work codifying Jewish Law]. When he wrote it, there was no Sanhedrin, and he therefore outlines the steps necessary to establish one. When there is a majority of rabbis, in Israel, who authorize one person to be a samuch, , an authority, he can then reestablish the Sanhedrin."
Those behind the revival of the Sanhedrin stress that the revival of the legal body is not optional, but mandated by the Torah. "We don't have a choice," says Rabbi Richman. "It is a religious mandate for us to establish a Sanhedrin."
The Sanhedrin was reestablished through the ordination of one rabbi agreed upon by many prominent rabbis in Israel and approved as "fitting to serve" by former Chief Sefardi Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef and leading Ashkenazi Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. That rabbi, who is then considered to have received authentic ordination as handed down from Moses, was then able to give ordination to 70 others, making up the quorum of 71 necessary for the Sanhedrin.
"Even Mordechai HaYehudi of the Purim story was accepted, as it is written, only 'by the majority of his brethren,' and not by everybody," Rabbi HaLevi explained. "Anyone who deals with public issues can not be unanimously accepted."
The rabbis behind the Sanhedrin's reconstitution claim that, like the State of Israel, the old-new Sanhedrin is a work-in-progress. They see it as a vessel that, once established, will reach the stature and authority that it once had.
'Samuchim' gathered in front of the entrance to the Temple Mount

"The first members requested that their names not be published, so as to allow it to grow without public criticism of individuals," HaLevi said. "We want to give it time to develop and strengthen the institution, giving a chance for more rabbis to join." He added that each of the current members of the Sanhedrin has agreed to be a conditional member until a more knowledgeable rabbi joins, taking his place.
Rabbi Richman, also a member of the Sanhedrin, hopes the body will bring about a revolution in Jewish jurisprudence. Declining to discuss exactly what issues are on the Sanhedrin's agenda, Richman said that one of the main long-term goals of the Sanhedrin is to reunify Jewish observance in Israel. The Sanhedrin includes members of Ashkenazi, Sefardi, Hasidic, National-Religious and Hareidi communities.
"We Jews went into exiles all over the world," Rabbi HaLevi said. "Every community established its own court. We are talking about more than 50 different legal systems developing separately from one another. Part of our return to Israel is the reunification of our Jewish practices."

Members of the Sanhedrin enter the Temple Mount through the Mughrabi gate, above the Western Wall

A tradition is recorded in the Talmud (Tractate Megillah 17b, Rashi) that the Sanhedrin will be restored after a partial ingathering of the Jewish exiles, but before Jerusalem is completely rebuilt and restored. Another Talmudic tradition (Eruvin 43b; Maharatz Chajas ad loc; Rashash to Sanhedrin 13b) states that Elijah the Prophet will present himself before a duly-ordained Sanhedrin when he announces the coming of the Messiah. This indicates that despite common misconceptions, a Sanhedrin is a pre-, not post-messianic institution.

BABYLONIAN Talmudic Traditions

Mark 7:13
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

COVENANT WOES (CURSES) DECLARED BY JESUS CHRIST:

Matthew 23
1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. 8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! 17Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. 19Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? 20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. 21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. 22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

29Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, 30And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. 32Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. 33Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

DURING DANIEL'S 70TH WEEK JESUS PROCLAIMED THE DECREE PROPHESIED FOR IN CONSUMMATION IN 70AD (THE CONSUMMATION OF THE DECREE OCCURRED IN 70AD....MORIAH RECEIVED A DEADLY WOUND, AND HAS NOW COME BACK TO LIFE)

Pharisees

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The sages of the Talmud see a direct link between themselves and the Pharisees, and historians generally consider Pharisaic Judaism to be the progenitor of Rabbinic Judaism, that is normative, mainstream Judaism after the destruction of the Second Temple. All maintream forms of Judaism today consider themselves heirs of Rabbinic Judaism and, ultimately, the Pharisees.

THE UNPARDONABLE SIN:

The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of "Jesus the Nazarene":
 1. He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic, led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).
 2. He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah 47a).
 3. He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh—which is also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).

Who Was Jesus?

The points you mentioned is coming from the Orthodox Chassidim Jews.. They called the sins of Jesus.
So, is this true? Some background about the points you named. I copy it from the website, because it gave a good view what is right and what is wrong.. and why Jesus isn't mention in this talmud verses.
(From the website The Jesus Narrative In The Talmud)
The Jesus Narrative In The Talmud

Written by Gil Student
Introduction
There are four main passages in the Talmud that are alleged by some to discuss the story of Jesus' life and death. What we will do here is to analyze closely these passages and see the reasons one may or may not attribute these stories to the life of Jesus. We will also look at another two passages that help us identify our protagonist(s). We will quickly realize that there are great difficulties in stating that any of these texts refer to Jesus. We will see that a large number of historians and talmudists have addressed these issues and have concluded that either none of these passages refer to Jesus or that they refer to a proto-Jesus, whose life was later obfuscated by the theologically motivated rewriting of history.

Note that the word "ben" means "son of" in Hebrew. Therefore, the name "Shimon Ben Gamaliel" means Shimon the son of Gamaliel.
Passage #1: Ben Stada
Talmud Shabbat 104b, Sanhedrin 67a
It is taught: R. Eliezer told the sages: Did not Ben Stada bring witchcraft with him from Egypt in a cut that was on his skin? They said to him: He was a fool and you cannot bring proof from a fool.
Ben Stada is Ben Pandira.
R. Chisda said: The husband was Stada and the lover was Pandira.
[No,] the husband was Pappos Ben Yehudah and the mother was Stada.
[No,] the mother was Miriam the women's hairdresser [and was called Stada]. As we say in Pumbedita: She has turned away [Stat Da] from her husband.
Summary
What we see from here is that there was a man named Ben Stada who was considered to be a practicer of black magic. His mother was named Miriam and also called Stada. His father was named Pappos Ben Yehudah. Miriam (Stada) had an affair with Pandira from which Ben Stada was born.
Proof
Some historians claim that Ben Stada, also known as Ben Pandira, was Jesus. His mother's name was Miriam which is similar to Mary. Additionally, Miriam was called a women's hairdresser, "megadla nashaia" [for this translation, see R. Meir Halevi Abulafia, Yad Rama, Sanhedrin ad. loc.]. The phrase "Miriam megadla nashaia" sounds similar to Mary Magdalene, a well-known New Testament figure.
Problems
1. Mary Magdalene was not Jesus' mother. Neither was Mary a hairdresser.
2. Jesus' step-father was Joseph. Ben Stada's step-father was Pappos Ben Yehudah.
3. Pappos Ben Yehudah is a known figure from other places in talmudic literature. The Mechilta Beshalach (Vayehi ch. 6) has him discussing Torah with Rabbi Akiva and Talmud Berachot 61b has Pappos Ben Yehudah being captured and killed by Romans along with Rabbi Akiva. Rabbi Akiva lived during the second half of the first century and the first half of the second century. He died in the year 134. If Pappos Ben Yehudah was a contemporary of Rabbi Akiva's, he must have been born well after Jesus' death and certainly could not be his father.

Passage #2: Yeshu
Talmud Sanhedrin 107b, Sotah 47a
What of R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah?
When John [Hyrcanus] the king killed the rabbis, R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah [and Yeshu] went to Alexandria of Egypt. When there was peace, Shimon Ben Shetach sent to him "From me [Jerusalem] the holy city to you Alexandria of Egypt. My husband remains in your midst and I sit forsaken."
[R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] left and arrived at a particular inn and they showed him great respect. He said: How beautiful is this inn [Achsania, which also means innkeeper].
[Yeshu] said: Rabbi, she has narrow eyes.
[R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] said to him: Wicked one, this is how you engage yourself?
[R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] sent out four hundred trumpets and excommunicated him.
[Yeshu] came before [R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] many times and said: Accept me. But [R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] paid him no attention.
One day [R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] was reciting Shema [during which one may not be interrupted]. [Yeshu] came before him. He was going to accept [Yeshu] and signalled to [Yeshu] with his hand. [Yeshu] thought that [R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah] was repelling him. He went, hung a brick, and bowed down to it.
[Yeshu] said to [R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah]: You taught me that anyone who sins and causes others to sin is not given the opportunity to repent.
And the master said: Yeshu {the Notzri} practiced magic and deceive and led Israel astray.

Background and Summary
Note that historians differ on the exact years of these events. For simplicity, we will assume the latest possible dates as suggested by Gershon Tannenbaum [Jewish Time Line Encyclopedia, p. 87].
John Hyrcanus was a successful king and soldier. During a banquet celebrating his victories in 93 BCE, some Pharisee rabbis offended him and he was convinced by Sadducee leaders to try to kill every Pharisee rabbi [Hyman, vol. II pp. 691-692, 766]. Some rabbis, such as R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah and his student Yeshu, fled to Alexandria outside of John Hyrcanus's reach [Hyman vol. II pp. 647, 692]. Shimon Ben Shetach, however, was hidden in Jerusalem by his sister, Salome Alexandra, who was John Hyrcanus's daughter-in-law [Hyman, vol. II pp. 647, 692, 766, vol. III pp. 1212-1213]. The extremely diverse religious population of Palestine, full of sects such as the Essenes, Kumrans, and numerous other groups, was temporarily devoid of any public Pharisee leaders.
By the year 91 BCE, John Hyrcanus and his sons Antigonus and Aristobulos had died and his third son Alexander Janneus became king. Even though Alexander Janneus was an ardent Sadducee, his wife convinced him to appoint his Pharisaic brother-in-law, Shimon Ben Shetach, to the Sanhedrin, then dominated by Sadducees. Slowly, over the course of a number of years, Shimon Ben Shetach outshone his Sadducee opponents in the Sanhedrin and appointed his Pharisaic students as members [Hyman, vol. II pp. 766-767, vol. III pp. 1213-1214].
By the year 80 BCE it was finally safe for the Pharisee rabbis to quietly return and Shimon Ben Shetach sent a cryptic note to his mentor, R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah, encouraging him to return [Hyman, vol. II pp. 647-648, vol. III pp. 1213-1214].
Some 50 to 60 years after the great Pharisaic victory of the Hasmoneans, in which Pharisees rebelled against the Greek-Syrians and gained the monarchy, these Pharisee rabbis returned to a country full of heretical sects that had either integrated aspects of Hellenist paganism into their religion or had, in an attempt to repel all unproven influence, rejected the traditions of the rabbis. The Pharisees who remembered the prominence in which they had so recently been held were now witnesses to the disintegration of their religious society.
While returning, Yeshu misunderstood one of his teacher's remarks and said something that demonstrated that he was interested in and looking at married women. As sexual promiscuity was a sign of many of the Hellenist sects, R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah suspected his student of being yet another leader influenced by Hellenism and had him excommunicated [this hasty conclusion was condemned by the Talmud a few lines before our passage]. After many attempts by Yeshu to reconcile with his mentor, R. Yehoshua Ben Perachiah was finally ready. However, Yeshu approached him while he was reciting Shema, the most important part of the morning prayer during which he could not stop to speak. He motioned to Yeshu with his hand which was misinterpreted as a signal to go away. Yeshu finally gave up and fulfilled his teacher's suspicion. He adopted a pagan religion and went on to create his own sect of Judaism and lead many Jews astray.
Proof
Some historians note some similarities here between Yeshu and Jesus. Most notably, in one manuscript of the Talmud he is called Yeshu the Notzri which could be rendered (with only a little difficulty) Jesus the Nazarene.
Problems
1. Yeshu lived about a century before Jesus.
2. Only one of the approximately four distinct manuscripts available have the title HaNotzri (possibly, the Nazarene). None of the other manuscripts contain that title which make it suspect as a later interpolation, as medieval commentators suggest [cf. Menachem HaMeiri, Beit Habechirah, Sotah ad. loc.].
3. Notzri does not necessarily mean Nazarene. It is actually a biblical term (Jeremiah 4:16). While centuries later it was undoubtedly used to refer to Christians in the form of Notzrim or Netzarim, it could have been a term used to refer to many strong communities. The name "Ben Netzar" was used by the Talmud to refer to the famous chief of robbers Odenathus of Palmyra [see Marcus Jastrow's Dictionary p. 930]
4. The name Yeshu alone could have been common. We know that the name Jesus was common [see Collossians 4:11 and above].
5. Other than the name, nothing in the story fits anything we know about Jesus.

Passage #3: Trial
Talmud Sanhedrin 67a
It is taught: For all others liable for the death penalty [except for the enticer to idolatry] we do not hide witnesses. How do they deal with [the enticer]? They light a lamp for him in the inner chamber and place witnesses in the outer chamber so that they can see and hear him while he cannot see or hear them. One says to him "Tell me again what you said to me in private" and he tells him. He says "How can we forsake our G-d in heaven and worship idolatry?" If he repents, good. If he says "This is our obligation and what we must do" the witnesses who hear him from outside bring him to the court and stone him. And so they did to Ben Stada in Lud and hung him on the eve of Passover.
Summary
This passage discusses how an enticer to idolatry, one of the worst religious criminals (see Deuteronomy 13:7-12), was caught. The Talmud then continues and says that this was the method used to catch the notorious Ben Stada.
Proof
Again we see Ben Stada. Above we were told that he performed witchcraft and we are now told that he was an idolater as well. The connection to Jesus is that Ben Stada is connected to Jesus in the passage above and that he was executed on the eve of Passover. The Gospel of John (19:14) has Jesus being executed on the eve of Passover.
Problems
1. The same problems above connecting Ben Stada to Jesus apply here as well, including his living almost a century after Jesus.
2. Ben Stada was stoned by a Jewish court and not crucified by the Roman government like Jesus.
3. The Synoptic Gospels say that Jesus was executed on Passover itself (Matthew 26:18-20; Mark 14:16-18; Luke 22:13-15) and not the eve of Passover.
4. Jesus was not crucified in Lud.
