I had an interesting thing happen last night.
Some time after I had signed off here.
I had just finished my reading and prayers, getting ready to relax with some christain music when the power went out.
I found myself in total blackness.
As I reached into the drawer next to my bed, anxious to find any light quickly, I could not help but think of maggiemye's post on spiritual darkness.
Thankfully I quickly found the headlamp I use to read in bed, so I will not disterb my hubby reading late into the night.
What relief to have that light, no longer blind I got up, and went to where I keep the candles for this kind of emergency.
I looked outside to try and see just how big this blackout was, and could only see as far as my light reached, beyond it was total blackness.
I began lighting the emergency candles and setting them about my home, so if anyone awakened they would be able to see their way without stumbling.
When finished, I realised how good the many simple lights were, that now, I was able to see beyond the light that I had, the many lights bringing into view all that was around me and beyond.
I began to consider how important the light given me was, as it was with me where ever I went, illuminating my steps, and showing me where I was, and helping me to step forward to where I needed to go.
But then I also considered the comfort of the additional lights around me, because of these additional lights, I was able to see so much more and beyond the place where I stood, I could see into the next room, I could see beyond the place where I stood and walked.
I began to see how Jesus , the light in each of us that accept Him, gave light to my walk, kept me from stumbling.
But I also considered how, like the candles did, the light carried by all our brothers and sister in Jesus, helps each of us to see beyond the place where each of us is, that the light of Jesus in those around one, lets one see beyond and all that is around one, giving even a glimce of the next room, so that one had a better idea of what lay ahead .
It gave me comfort as I considered it all in Jesus.
That not only does He light our way, but because He lights all of the ways of our brothers and sisters in Jesus. We can recieve a glimce, even an understanding of what is not right in our own sight, but because of His light in all, what is there .
I just thought we might all considerthis in Jesus.
So each of us may see a bit better, not just what is in His light where each of us is.
But maby understand that we are here to help each other in Jesus see what the other cannot.
And also remember that none on us is in the same place, so the directions will be different, depending on where you are.
Remember though, we all share the same light, Jesus!
One more thought, Some one quite a distance away had some kind of light in their window, I was amazed that even though they were far from me, their simple light shown brightly in the darkness.
Just a thoughtful consideration.
In Jesus, God bless
