a question to you:
when jesus was hanging on the cross ; the thief that was crusified on his right, said, ''lord remember me when you come to your kingdom.''
and Jesus said to him, verily i say to you today you will be with me in paradise. but Jesus did not go anywhere that day; he was buried for 3 days?

And the thief was with God in paradise, just as Jesus said.

Jesus grave up the spirit, His body died, But his soul did not. During his three days in the grave. Scripture states he went to hades to teach to the spirit (basically tell them their fate was sealed.) and he took paradise to heaven with him. The theif when he passed on, entered hades, and was there with Christ.

are you saying that Jesus did not realy die, that he was not in the grave, that he was wondering around for 3 days?
i suppose you will say that his body is in the grave. did not Jesus say to the jews; your fathers ate manna and where are they? they are all dead. but if you eat the food that the son of man have, you will live forever.

To begin with, you are missing the point. The point is not where the thief went, but that he was WITH
Jesus. It doesn't matter where we are, as long as we are with our Lord and Savior.

But to answer your question. Paradise is not heaven. To the Hebrews, paradise was a section of Hades called Abraham's bosom, where the souls of the righteous went when they died. Some may question the existence of such a place, but the fact is that Jesus (His soul) was in Hades prior to His ascendancy to the Father in heaven.

Acts 2: 27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.

You may want to interpret the above to mean that Jesus did not go to Hades at all. But consider this:

John 20: 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping ? Whom are you seeking ?" Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary !" She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, "Rabboni !" (which means, Teacher ). 17 Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father ; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.' " 18 Mary Magdalene came, announcing to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and that He had said these things to her.

When Mary talked to Jesus in the tomb, He told her that He had not yet ascended to the Father, so He certainly was not in heaven. Obviously this paradise Jesus spoke of is not heaven.

Well I guess no one is in paradise then. Because there are non righteous.

Paradise is not of the world, It is a place where those who have passed before us await the resurrection. As apposed to hades, which is the resting place of those awaiting judgment.

Where does ones soul go after the body Dies? Does it cease to exist?

Ephesians 4: 8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." 9 (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth ?

Since Jesus' ascendancy to heaven, and his victory over death, the souls of the righteous no longer go to Hades, but go immediately to be with Jesus in heaven.

2 Corinthians 5: 8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Ephesians 4:8 *Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 *(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 *He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Notice in verse 19 it says preached to spirits in prison, the next verse goes on to describe who those spirits were and they were from long before Jesus's time on Earth. The verse above says Jesus was lowered into the lowest part of the Earth It seems to me what Jesus was referring to when He said " today you will with me" be in paradise" would have to be Abraham's bosom, a holding place for those who existed before Jesus came to the Earth and rose from the dead.

1 Peter 3:17 *For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 *¶For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 *By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 *Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Prison means in this verse:

fulake -- pronounced: foo-lak-ay'

from 5442; a guarding or (concretely, guard), the act, the person; figuratively, the place, the condition, or (specially), the time (as a division of day or night), literally or figuratively: KJV -- cage, hold, (im-)prison(-ment), ward, watch.

Ah yes, But remember, No soul of the righteous ever went to hades. Hades is prison. Not paradise. Thinks of abrahams bosom, where hades and paradise was seperated by a deep gulf so no one could walk from one to the other.

Abraham's bosom was part of Hades. Jesus was certainly righteous, yet He went there. There was indeed a gulf between them. Hades was separated into two parts.

I'm not saying you, but some people equate Hades with hell. This is not the case.

Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

You would have to agree that if Hades is hell, then verse 14 above is saying that hell will be thrown into hell (lake of fire), which makes no sense. Also, Hades must indeed exist, in order to be acted upon.

just before Jesus died, he says ''into thy hands i commit my SPIRIT.
the spirit of life belongs to God; it goes back to God the body goes to dust.
Jesus was dead, absolutely dead. was buried for 3days; he did not wonder around.
so why did he say ''today you will be with me in paradise?
well he died that day and from that day on he is not in our time zone.untill he was resurected on the third day; but to him it is that same day that he died. it would be the same to all the dead; when they wake up they would not know that 2000yrs has past.
now paradise: where is paradise? when the remnant of israel will be in the kingdom, they will be living in paradise, no tears, no pain, no wars, abundant of everything, but they are in the flesh in the land flowing with milk and honey. but the resurected ones are in spirit, they are in the kingdom of God. they can go up and down
they can see God.
so the thief woul also be brought back to that land of peace. just like adam and eve how it was in the beginning. Jesus, the 2nd adam would be there, with all his children(the resurected ones) preparing the flesh children teaching them. and then they also will be changed into spirit in the 2nd resurection.

''wakeup''.

Yes, Hades is not hell, we agree. Hades will be delivered to Christ for judgment.

Remember, those in Christ are risen by him for eternal life. Not delivered to him for judgment. Huge difference.

remember a thousand years is like a day

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

What were Jesus' last words on the cross?

Jesus called out with a loud voice, "
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last. -Luke 23:46

If Christ tells the thief, in so many words, "You'll be with me" and He then places His own spirit into the hands of the Father, where does the thief himself also end up?
