So Paul talks of believers wrongly going before unbelievers for judgments...and he says are you incompetant to judge petty cases knowing not that we who are chosen will judge even angels at the end times...I know Paul goes further and says "Why not prefer to be wronged?" and thus not expect anything when even are cloaks are taken from us---but for those who have not reached this 'stage' of Christianity should there be physical judges in churches that people can go to when they have a complaint against a fellow Christian???

I am not speaking of prophetic judges necessarily like in the Old Testament, but simply a judge or a system in the physical church structure that allows a Christian with a complaint to go to the CHURCH instead of trusting in SECULAR COURT???

Just wondering, I personally have told someone who threatened to take my mom to court and also thought himself to be possibly Christian, that if he was being wronged he should take it to the church and not to a secular court...Not quite sure what I was meaning besides taking it to God in prayer and to authoratative members? of their church possibly that could decide the matter with my mom who also says she is Christian...

Kind of a silly case anyway, we were accidently going a little onto his property that he doesn't use (that is growing into a wilderness--as our driveway is very close to the line), he threatened to take my mom to court for it...Anyway, I think I will go back to him and say I was wrong to pretend like it was nothing driving onto his property as it is his and not ours, so perhaps I should have just acknowledged that we were in the wrong...

God bless

According to scripture, churches should have judges. As believers we should not be going to the world to settle our matters. There should be a panel of Elders or Pastors ect to jude our matters according to scripture.

Yes there should be but church leadership usually does this anyway in their role I think. They aren't always right mind you, there are cases I'm sure of leadership who shun members or have an agenda against certain members and it's sad to see when church leadership is biased against certain people.

Snail, I agree with you most churches do have some form of a system judges. However I understood this statement on a larger scale. Having a central Judges, that would be able to judge all Christian matters.
This is an avenue that the Christian lLeaders should consider developing inorder to strengthen the family of God. This would also, show true unity of the family of God.

churches SHOULD have judges, but nobody studies the Scriptures and thus nobody is qualified . the modern church doesnt have experts or scribes . everyone is just an expert at explaining their anti-biblical beliefs with "apologetics"
