There is a view prevalent today that claims a person can be a Christian without being a disciple of Jesus Christ, that he can accept Jesus as Savior without accepting him as Lord (a word which means Master). Yet this view is not compatible with the way the Bible uses the word "Christian." The word "Christian" occurs only three times, and when we examine the passages in which it occurs, we discover that, in each instance, it is compatible (or even synonymous) with the word "disciple."

Acts 11:26 ESV

and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

Acts 26:27-29 KJV

King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

1 Peter 4:16 AMP

But if [one is ill-treated and suffers] as a Christian [which
he is contemptuously called], let him not be ashamed, but give glory to God that he
is [deemed worthy to suffer] in this name.

In one instance, it is directly connected with that word. In the days of the apostles, the word "Christian" was a term of derision that was used by their enemies. Instead of being a compliment - or even a status symbol (as it sometimes is, today) - it was an insult. A person who became a follower (disciple) of Jesus experienced a radical change in values, attitudes and actions - and the world mocked such people by calling them "Christians." NOW!!! Is a Priviledge I Love JESUS!!!!!

this was passed along to me by a sister in Christ Jesus

Jesus knew how to find happiness. He taught us so that we could find happiness too. His teachings were meant for our benefit. That is why we must obey him.

Jesus knew how to find happiness. He taught us so that we could find happiness too. His teachings were meant for our benefit. That is why we must obey him. Jesus did not LOOK for happiness. Happiness was not a concern of His. LOVE was His concern. He did not teach us tht we could find happiness. On the contrary, He told us that He did NOT come to bring peace (happiness), but He came to bring a SWORD; Mt 10:34; that being the Word of God. He told us, through Paul, us to BE CONTENT in all things Philipians 4:11.

We obey Him because we LOVE Him, not to find happiness. We Obey to be lined up with His will.

8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his(Romans 8:8-9).

The word Christian means to accept Christ as savior and Lord, and be led of the Holy Spirit to be like Christ, hence the word Christian.

The world that does not accept Christ as neither Lord or savior, but believe in a God for salvation, cannot receive salvation for only by accepting Christ can they receive the Spirit to be spiritually right with God.

To accept Christ as savior but not Lord, would deny that He is God manifest in the flesh, and God gave all power and authority to the Son in heaven and earth,so they could not have salvation.

We must accept Him as savior and Lord,or so it would seem.

The Pope and the Vatican are now saying that a person that seeks to establish the kingdom of God on earth can have salvation even if they do not accept Christ as savior, and trying to unite the religions.Oh,oh.
