What was the main reason Jesus was killed. How did they do it? And why was the Roman Gov. involved?

My understanding is this:

The religious leaders, and others, were jealous of how popular Jesus was and wanted him killed. The governor of Rome was in charge, so Jesus was brought to him on false charges. The governor could find no crime that Jesus had committed. However, there was a mob of people who wanted Jesus dead, so the governor turned Jesus over to the mob, who crucified him.

Yes that is true but why would a whole mob get into the action? Before that they were welcoming him with palms...do people quickly turn so?

Jesus confirmed as per question that He was the Son of God, which was considered blasphemy to the "authorities". Much like it is considered blasphemy today in Islam.

Which do you want me to release to you, Barrabas or Jesus which is called Christ.
For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him

Matt 27:17&18

The Roman governmet was involved because they wanted Christ to be crucified and the Jews themselves had no authority to legally crucify anyone

The reason why Jesus was killed is because He was a sin offering for all people who repent and put their trust in Him.

Jesus said He gave His life up willingly, on His own accord. He came down from heaven for this very purpose of reconciliation between man and God, He has defeated death and the grave.

The Roman government was involved because they were the ones in charge. I recommend reading John 10, John 19, Philippians 2 and try to gather a good understanding of what Jesus did and why He did it. 1 Corinthians 15 is a great explanation of the Gospel.

God bless you,

take care.

Jesus was talking about the sacrifice He was going to make and said that no one takes His life away, but that He lays it down on His own initiative. He went on to say that He would lay down His life for His sheep, and also take it up again. No had ever come back from death to eternal life before, and no one has done so since. Anyway, He said that He had this commandment from His Father, and even more astonishing, said that His Father loves Him because He lays down His life for the sheep.

Thank-you for I believe everyone had good thoughts on my question. I was then thinking it all had to start in the garden with Eve and I believe this was the transgression(curse) spoken of in Daniel 9:24 that was brought into the world.

To atone for this curse there had to be a blood sacrifice. God is unchangeable I know and he will punish disobedience. One to take that replacement had to be like us but free from the transgression...a sin bearer for mankind...a redeemer for us to take our place of punishment. Only thing required is to receive(not accept) in our lives that replacement.
What I read about the day he was killed looked like mob rule how people quickly change. I believe he was accepted by the people at first maybe because they wanted out of Roman rule and they thought he could do that for them. They were mistaken then because he did not come to do it on a physical layer but a different kind of rule. When they understood that I believe they threw him to the lions ....so to say.

I fear greatly that people never change and people can be controlled especially by religion.
